Hemlock Haven is a spacious 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom home ideal for family gatherings, fishing trips, a girls' week, or even a remote work retreat with reliable Wi-Fi and a peaceful setting. Lake Geneserath is ideal for fishing and observing local wildlife, including nesting loons. The setting is peaceful and serene and most of the land surrounding the lake is undeveloped and never will be! Jet skis are best left to Lake Michigan, not Lake Geneserath–here, the lake invites you to unwind and embrace the tranquility of nature. The home has a private dock and a private beach for you. This section of the lake has a sandy bottom that gently and gradually increases in depth for at least 20 yards before it drops to deep water. The dock and the beach make launching the provided watercraft easy and enjoyable.
Transportation to the island is available by ferry or by plane, both transportation paths leave from Charlevoix, Michigan. For information about transportation to the island, visit the following website for descriptions and links to the ferry and airlines. https://www.beaverisland.org/transportation/
The beaver Island website also has up to date information about car rental and transportation services on the island. If you want to bring your own vehicle to the island, you have to make a reservation in advance with the Beaver Island Boat Company. They start taking reservations in February and they book up fast for the peak months of July and August. You will need a vehicle to get to Hemlock Haven at the south end of the island.
Hemlock Haven is a Saturday to Saturday rental (7 nights) minimum during peak season (July-August). Check-in is at 4pm on Saturday and check-out is the following Saturday at 10am. Contact us for short or extended stays outside of the summer peak season. There is a caretaker on site in the guest house. The caretaker will be out of sight and out of mind. But if you do need anything, something is missing or not working, or have any questions at all, please feel free to knock on the guest house door or contact the caretaker or us. A full contact list will be in Hemlock Haven. Enjoy your stay in this comfortable, inviting retreat on beautiful Beaver Island!
