9th year staying at Orion as my husband and I love it so much! It’s close enough to Durango that it’s a quick trip into town yet nice & secluded with deer sightings pretty much daily. The house is so beautiful, comfortable and has great views. Renee is an incredible host who makes the process of booking, checking in and being available if there are any issues (which is rare).

Place was clean, maybe a little on the aggressive side with knick-knacks and instructions placed everywhere but I also understand they're there to help add charm and take care of the place. The location was nice and peaceful and the property grounds and cabin itself were beautiful. Would stay again!

The house is in excellent condition and set in a private area. The layout is excellent and would be great for two couples. The appliances are quite impressive and are of Commercial Grade. Renee was helpful and the only thing that disturbed our stay was a thunder storm that knocked the Internet service out. Renee immediately helped remedy the situation and we were back up in running within a few hours.

It was a wonderful stay. House is beautifully stocked with everything you might have forgotten. Back porch is so pleasant. Great grill, comfortable beds. Will try to go back next year!

Beautiful stay

Beautiful property and cozy warm cabin. Located close enough to Durango but still had plenty of privacy. Clean with all things needed during our stay. Would definitely stay again.

We had plenty of room for our family and it was nice to come back too after being in the mountains all day. House is clean, host had everything we needed and was a phone call away if we needed something,

Very nice home

A great property located a short drive from town. This has to be one of the best places I have stayed. It was very well stocked with everything you need to fully enjoy your stay.

Mountain vacation

We enjoyed our stay a great deal. The property was beautiful, the accommodations were impeccable! The attention to detail to make our stay as comfortable as possible was obvious. It was just what we were looking for!

The Orion's Veiw exceeded all expectations. It's extremely comfortable, easy to access and fully stocked with all necessities. The veiw of the mountains from the back porch was spectacular. We were visited daily with all types of wildlife.

Great Stay with Amazing Views of the Stars!

This is a great property. So much we extened our stay to enjoy it even more. Great layout of the cabin and the views of the stars at night are stunning. I highly recommend this rental, the property manager/slash was very accomendating and easy to communicate with. Thanks again!

We went for the motorcycle rally. Had a great time, house is beautiful, everything we needed was there. Only draw back was, no privacy in the master bathroom. We will return

Best place in Durango

This was our 7 stay here, 2nd this year so obviously we absolutely love Orion’s View!! The house is so comfortable, the vies are incredible and the location is perfect! Outside of town but not too far so it’s an easy, quick drive to Durango. Lastly, Renee is incredible! Needless to say, we’ll definitely be back next year. 😁

This was our 2nd stay at Orion’s View and everything was perfect! From the communication with the owner, Renee, to check in, to the accommodations there wasn’t anything I would change. The home is always well stocked; the owner literally thinks of everything for her guests. The location of the home is only about 15 minutes from the airport and very easy to find. It’s just far enough outside of the city to feel secluded, yet close enough that nothing is out of the way.The design of the home is perfect for couples, families, or even for a romantic getaway for two.The sunrise and sunset views are stunning! I’ve attached a shot from the morning of 10/01/25.I will DEFINITELY be returning to Durango in the future and will be staying at Orion’s View again!

Orion’s View was simply great!

This home was perfect for our trip to Durango. It’s a relatively short drive to the downtown historic district, yet is secluded and quiet. Some of the reviewers described how well stocked the kitchen is, and I couldn’t agree more. Everything you could possibly need is there! We were searching for a home that offered 2 king sized beds, Orion’s View had them, and both were very, very comfortable after a long day of sightseeing. We give this place a 10 out of 10, and Renee did a fantastic job of making recommendations on places to go, things to do, sights to see, and restaurants.

Wonderful log cabin home outside of Durango!

We had a great time with our family in Durango! Many thanks to Renee for being such a wonderful hostess! She was very attentive to our family and incredibly fast in responding to any of our communications! Her home is beautiful! It was perfect for us traveling with our family including one infant. We would have worried if we were traveling with our oldest grandson (he would have gotten into all the decorative items in the house if he was with us). It's a perfect home for family traveling with older children or infants! We will definitely look to stay here on future trips to Durango!

Amazing!

Everything about our stay was amazing from the first interaction with the owner to checkout. Renee’s communication was stellar from the moment we booked her home, to the follow up, to the day of our arrival and beyond! She always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She even had a wonderful birthday surprise waiting for us when we arrived! The home and grounds were perfect! We couldn’t have asked for anything more! The views were stunning! We will definitely Italy be back to Orion’s View the next time we are in Durango! Love this host and this property! xoxo

Spacious & private, great for a dog, Convenient to Durango and points of interest all over the 4 corners area. The gas depot & construction company across the road was a suprise and pretty noisy M-F but not really an issue nights & weekends. Owner is friendly, flexible and super easy to work with. The Cabin is comfy & cozy but a little crowded with stuff that made moving in for a month a tad awkward. But it was better stocked than most. Wish there had been a gas fire table outside and some nicer outdoor furniture (umbrella did not work but in fairness I did not alert owner). Also bear proof trash cans are a must add…..2 visits was 2 too many. Great for a family or 2 couples, more would feel crowded in IMHO.

False advertising

Lovely, clean home and very nice host, BUT! False advertising. They show views of entire San Juan Mountain Range; they topped one small pine tree and the ‘view’ is tiny. They live in the house and actually put towels out on both bathroom rods with a “Please do not use” sign. All windows in both bedrooms have signs next to them saying there might be trouble and that a person might have to go outside to close them. The one car garage has a jeep in it (in description it’s there for your use) and an old car sits in the driveway at the garage. Pantry fully loaded, no room - must put shades on all those beautiful windows in summer most of the day as sun shines on them and deck. VERY disappointed - have rented a LOT and never run into this.

I’m sorry you did not enjoy our lovely fully stocked home. I have been renting with VRBO since 2012 and carry a 5 star rating thanks to my awesome customers each year. I have great communication with all of them and do not hide anything. They are told that this is also my home and they are happy to take care of it for me as they would their own. I try to label things for my customers so they know what to expect. I take pride in communicating fully to see what their needs are! To address your issues we do not falsely advertise for one you can see the full LaPlata Mountains from our home in/out, for two the jeep is kept in the garage and in a case that a guest needed the garage we have had it moved several times no problem, the description says that they can use the garage if needed that is a true statement, the towels are guest towels for decoration and that is why they are not used, we have supplied more than enough towels for all guests in each bathroom. The pantry is loaded with cleaning supplies etc as stated for the cleaning crew. We supply water, paper towels and all that is needed from the pantry if notified they need more. We do offer our guests a fully stocked home to have anything they may need or may have forgotten. The summer in CO gets hot and the best way to keep a house cool is to close the blinds as most guests are out seeing the sites not entertaining others. My home is definitely a 5 star for anyone looking to stay and is backed up by my reviews since 2012. I hope I have cleared up some of your confusion.
