Funky Mountain is a vibrant mountain escape with playful decor, a loaded game garage & home gym, and views galore (24-ZONE3707). Watch for elk and wild turkeys as you relax! Just 5 mins to RMNP, and under a minute to Marys Lake, fishing, groceries, and Estes' top eats. Kids love the cozy playroom!

The space
*** PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING ***
- Check-in is after 4 PM, and check-out is by 10 AM — our cleaners work fast, but they never know what kind of surprises the last guests left behind.
- No smoking anywhere on the property (inside or out), no pets, no parties, and no wood-burning fire pits.
- Estes Park doesn’t allow outdoor wood fire pits or charcoal grills, but don’t worry — we’ve got a gas grill ready for you.
- Maximum of 8 guests and 3 vehicles.
- Guests agree to start the dishwasher and toss towels (including hand towels and washcloths) into the laundry. That simple favor helps us keep cleaning fees lower than most places.
- This is a townhome, so you’ll have neighbors. Please keep things chill and respectful with sound levels.

Welcome to Funky Mountain -- we're so glad you're here! This home is a peaceful, family-friendly retreat located just minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. We chose this spot because it's the kind of place where you might see elk at breakfast, then be hiking a mountain trail by lunch.
Within just minutes you’ll find:
- Wildlife galore — deer, elk, and those famous wild turkeys strutting down Marys Lake Road
- Marys Lake itself, perfect for fishing or just soaking up the sun on the little beach
- Coffee and pizza from the local favorite, The Bird’s Nest
- Fine food and cocktails at the renowned Bird & Jim — seriously, don’t skip it
- Great grab-and-go sandwiches from The Country Supermarket for your park adventures
Just a few minutes further and you’ll hit the national park entrance, visitor center, and the heart of downtown Estes Park.
Back at the house, you can relax by the fireplace in cooler weather or grill out on the patio when it’s warm. Movie nights on the giant smart TV are a hit, and the open-concept layout means everyone can hang out together. If you’ve got kiddos in tow, they’ll love the upstairs playroom made just for them.

Living/Dining – Cozy, spacious, and built for connection. There’s comfy seating, a big dining table, and a layout that makes hanging out easy.
Entertainment – The oversized smart TV makes movie nights epic. And if you’ve got kids, the upstairs playroom is their own little kingdom.
LAUNDRY
The washer and dryer are located in the master suite and free for you to use anytime.

Other things to note
NO SMOKING, NO FIRES
My home was about a mile away from one of the largest forest fires in Colorado history a few years ago, so we are a strict no-smoking property. No smoking inside, outside, and no outdoor fire pits (now illegal in Estes Park's vacation homes). Charcoal BBQs are banned; gas ones like ours are allowed.
ROAD CONDITIONS
Estes has a great plow team and our driveway will also be plowed during storms, but if there's a huge blizzard, they may not be plowed exactly when you need them to be. We cannot assist if you get stuck and we always recommend that people rent AWD or 4WD when visiting us from October to May. We are at 8,000 feet and this can be a snowy area!
NONPAYING GUESTS
Insurance forbids nonpaying/non-registered guests on the property.
AIR CONDITIONER
Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows and turn on the fans.
BEARS
Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area often and can break in!
MINUT
We use a Minut noise meter. It doesn't record audio, but instead monitors decibel levels, temperature and humidity. This is for the safety of guests & to protect the home. It also serves to warn us about parties & prevent noise complaints from neighbors. It's located on the ceiling of the hallway leading into the living room.

- The townhouse has shared walls and is in a residential neighborhood
- Wood burning outdoor fire pits are illegal
- Check in 4pm or later; check out 10am or earlier
