Welcome to Heartland House! Situated 8 blocks from downtown Saugatuck, Heartland House is a picturesque, tranquil setting for your gathering or retreat. Heartland House was hand-built in 1949 by the owners after a fire destroyed the original house. This well-loved and cared-for house has seen only 4 owners in its life. Perfect for families or large groups, enjoy 2 acres of spacious grounds, six large bedrooms, living room, family room, gourmet kitchen, plush furnishing and luxury amenities, such as a fully equipped kitchen, wood fireplace, wi-fi, cable tv and central a/c. Heartland house is a 15-minute walk or quick bike ride to downtown Saugatuck via the bike path located at the entrance to the property. Heartland House is sure to be a memorable place for your gathering of family and friends.

Great stay

Wonderful property, 15-25 minute walk to anywhere you wanted to go downtown. Stayed with 8 adults and everyone enjoyed their stay, thank you!

Fantastic, as always!

We’ve been having our multi generation women’s gathering here for several years. Everything in the house is set up perfectly for a large gathering and we love it. The location is perfect to walk downtown or to just hang out on the deck or at the fire pit.

Family stay

This was our second family reunion stay at Heartland. We love it there. Gary is a wonderful host and is very responsive to any minor issues that come up. We are already scheduled to come back next year.

Everything you need and more

Heartland house was the perfect place for our family to stay for a getaway together. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of serving dishes, utensils, appliances, etc. Beds were very comfortable. The property was quiet yet only minutes from town.

Wonderful Getaway

Spent our annual girls getaway at this lovely home and had awesome time. Everyone loved it! Location is great, close to everything in town but in quiet private neighborhood. Large porches and yard with plenty of parking, fantastic well stocked kitchen, nice hot tub and clean comfortable beds. There’s plenty of seating inside and out for everyone. Also the host is very responsive and great to work with. Definitely recommend this lovely home!!

Girls Weekende

We had a wonderful time in Saugatuck. The houses location was perfect for everywhere we wanted to go. The large dining table was the perfect place for our group of 10 to eat and visit. The private grounds were very nice especially the evenings we sat around the fire pit! Thank you!`

Michgan Getaway with the girls!

A Charming Cottage

This well cared for property is a little gem in Saugatuck. The grounds were well taken care and the outside sitting areas were perfect for our group (including reading in the hammock and yoga on the front porch). The well equipped kitchen had everything we needed for food prep and cooking.Our beds (all five) were comfy and we all liked our Beekman toiletries that were a nice addition in each room. Overall, the house is a charming Michigan cottage !

Perfect Saugatuck Getaway

This house was perfect in every way. Very spacious and very well equipped. The firepit and hot tub were great. The location was also wonderful for us. The interior of this house is decorated perfectly and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. We will be planning our second stay here in the near future. Property owner Gary was great as well.

An amazing home and host

Our whole family stayed at this property We ranged from 2 weeks old to 70 years old. The home was beautiful with amazing furnishings. The host was very responsive to any questions and responded within about 5 minutes. We felt this home offered everything we needed

Wine Tour 2021

We had a wonderful stay, beautiful home. There were 10 women that stayed for the weekend and we traveled to 7 wineries in the area. Love the little town too. Only thing was there was a little house right next to the big house with someone living there, she did not bother us, but it would have been nice to know that she was that close.

Relaxing Family Vacation

This was the second year that we had a family gathering at Heartland House. We had another enjoyable, relaxing vacation. The front porch was our gathering point for coffee and talking each morning. The back deck was the venue for a birthday party for two of our members. Highly recommended.

Lovely House

Our immediate family and our extended family had a great time at the Heartland House. It was such a lovely environment that we hated to leave and go see the sights that we came to see! But that only led to more fun times together talking and connecting with family. Thanks for a great week!

Cozy and well-equipped home!

We LOVED staying at the Heartland House! The kitchen is gorgeous and well equipped for anyone to whip up any delicious meal. The refrigerator is on the smaller size, so plan accordingly if you have a large group. The bedrooms are ample and the house is well decorated for a cozy weekend in. Gary was highly responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here!

Clean, organized just as described

The house was perfect for 12 adults. The beds were comfortable, more than at home. 12 and 3 bathrooms was never an issue. If you're looking for a house this is the one!

This property was amazing. The home was comfortable, clean and offered all one could need. The outside hot tub was clean and well maintained which everyone enjoyed. The fire pit and outside games the property offers filled the evenings with laughter. The children loved the hammock and the swing.

Details matter
