The Village Hideaway II (formerly Village Nook) is a comfortable ground level, garden apartment, with a private entrance. It's perfect for one or two people on an Adirondack get-away or business trip. Your hosts have thoughtfully set up the apartment so guests feel at home. You'll find the convenience of a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer for longer stays, and a desk for your laptop.

Stroll down Broadway or the Adirondack Rail Trail behind the property to enjoy the village of Saranac Lake's cafes, shops, galleries, and events, Drive two minutes to the hospital, or the beach.

You have the unique opportunity for an especially relaxing respite. Your host Mary, a Yoga Therapist, offers yoga therapy, private yoga or beginner Tai Chi sessions, Reiki and sound bath meditation by appointment. Check the website, Inner Quest Yoga, for more information or contact Mary directly.

You'll find a guidebook with recommendations for dining and outings as well as brochures and maps for area attractions, trails, and waterways.

Excellent rental space on the first floor of the owner's home. Linens were provided and clean, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the bedroom was comfortable. It was the perfect place to stay while visiting the beautiful Saranac Lake area.

Mary and Kevin were exceptional hosts. The VRBO was detailed and equipped with any and everything you could need during your stay. The rail trail was a bonus for us. Ride right out of your front door. Mary turned us on to an amazing hike near Tupper lake. Sweet with little to no fellow hikers. Worth the visit for hikers and bikers.

This is a great location. Close to town but very quiet at night. Big for 2 people! All the rooms are separate so if one wants to stay up late or sleep in, no upset! Lol!

Lodging was lovely, host was helpful and friendly, location was perfect…close to downtown for shops and restaurants, and one mile from the hospital, where my husband had surgery. We highly recommend the apartment!

We stay here whenever we’re in Saranac Lake. The kitchen has everything necessary and is actually more than we use. The apartment is clean and very large, and the location is perfect for walking into town.

This apartment has everything you need to be cozy in Saranac Lake. The hostess provided a comprehensive notebook of local doings and places to eat. Behold the fantastic plasma TV with the big screen. The hosts were very accommodating. Bed was quite comfortable. The place was also beautiful.

This was our second time renting with Mary and Kevin. They are very friendly and helpful with things to do and see around Saranac Lake. We didn't spend time in the village as our activities included kayaking, hiking and birding, but there is a binder with recommendations and location information. The property is easy check in and has that warm home feeling. On a rainy day, play a board game or find an interesting read or just jump into your favorite streaming app on the large screen TV. Make sure to read the posted notes for quick answer on day-to-day housing questions.

Nice place

Great place to stay . Close to shopping , restaurants, downtown. Lake Placid is only 9 miles away , Whiteface Mt probably 20 very beautiful miles away.

Mary was so welcoming and friendly! She gave us wonderful recommendation and made us feel right at home. The space is beautiful and cozy. We loved having a nice place to come and wind down at the end of the day after adventuring. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Weekend getaway

We had a very good experience staying at the village nook. Really enjoyed being able to walk to town, and a close drive to all our hiking destinations.

Great Stay in Saranac Lake

This is our third straight year at this property. The unit is well equipped, clean and neat, Mary and Kevin are great hosts and we love the village of Saranac Lake.

Comfortable living quarters, well appointed, very clean and friendly host. Easy on-site parking. Information provided for local activities, recommendations and on-site yoga instruction (go ahead, give it a try). Would definitely stay here again.

Great Stay!

Mary and Kevin were great hosts with a beautiful loft! The bath was a hit and the space was neat and clean. It was close to all the hikes we wanted to do and there was plenty of great food around!

The peaceful nature of the facility, special services we can offer, and the convenient downtown location has proven to work well for many guests. It's central location in the tri-lakes region makes it a great hub with easy driving distances for 'much to do and see' in the woods, on the water, or strolls through the town and village. We enjoy sharing our home and meeting people from all around the state, country and the world!

The Nook is like home yet a floor below there are holistic services available: yoga and qi gong group or private classes, meditation, yoga therapy, reiki, and sound healing.
