Mid-Century Bolinas Oceanfront - Spa, Glass Walls + 2 Acres

Thank you for your thoughtful comments and for highlighting the natural beauty, wildlife, comfortable beds and linens, outdoor fireplace, and our responsiveness during your stay. We’re so glad you enjoyed those aspects of the home. We do, however, want to respectfully correct the characterization of the property as “very remote,” as that could give future guests an inaccurate impression of its location. The house is actually in central Bolinas and within easy walking distance of downtown Bolinas, the local markets, restaurants, and Bolinas Beach. One of the things people love most about Bolinas is that it feels peaceful, secluded, and far removed from the bustle of the Bay Area while still being remarkably accessible. Stinson Beach is nearby, Marin is approximately 30 minutes away, San Francisco is about 45 minutes away, and Wine Country can be reached in roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes. The winding coastal roads are part of the beauty and character of this area, but the home itself is certainly not remotely located—it is right in town. We’d also like to clarify the comment regarding storage. All of the bedrooms have closets and dedicated hanging areas, and several also include shelving for guests’ belongings. While the rooms are intentionally cozy and do not all have traditional dressers, there is space provided for hanging and storing clothing throughout the home. Hi Tiffanie we do have electric heat in all of the rooms just need to turn on electric heaters it’s not operated by central thermostat need to turn on each heater. Sorry you should have called us!

This review was made by a dishonest guest who stayed in the house during the bomb cyclone event (she stayed for her entire stay) then called VRBO and demanded all of her money back. We of course refused and her response is a review of the house intent on damaging our reputation. Obviously this home has been loved by many guests for years for a reason. We maintain the house, update the high end furniture and linens and all the amenities and appliances every year. One thing that deserves 2 stars is this guest. No integrity. Read the other reviews. She also called us about a leaking window and in the storm we sent our caretaker out immediately….

Thank you for your kind words about the home. We’re so glad you enjoyed the property! Bolinas is known for its laid back, hidden away character. In fact, the town has famously avoided prominent road signs for decades, which is part of its unique charm. Fortunately, it’s very easy to reach using GPS and is only about an hour from San Francisco. While Bolinas is intentionally small, there are two restaurants and several cafés within walking distance of the house. Just a short scenic drive away, West Marin also offers many outstanding dining options in places like Point Reyes Station, Olema, and Stinson Beach. We hope you’ll visit again to explore even more of what makes this special corner of the California coast so memorable.

The bedroom features a standard king bed, and the bench is included as a design element and a convenient place to sit or set luggage.
