65th wedding anniversary gone bust!!
Pictures on VRBO did not portray that the property had been updated. They appeared that the property had been updated. We chose this VRBO because of the recliners. We are nonagenarians, like to lay back and read when we are not out and about. The elevator was out of commission every day when we tried to walk our dog or go down from the 4th floor from an outing. We could not call the elevator from the 4th floor. At first we were both using the stairs, then learned that my husband could go down and bring the elevator up to get me. It was a regular nuisance and inconvenience, was much easier to just stay in. We do not feel we got our money's worth in this rental. We do understand that renovations are to be done soon, but it would have been honest of the part of the owner to advertise that so the guests would be made aware ahead
of time. We live in a senior community and saved a long time for this special occasion. We met and married in Fort Walton Beach and it seemed very special to go back to "where it all started", but our accommodations were less than satisfactory. And, now our money is gone. We had a really nice meal for our anniversary at Tommy Bahamas, and they were so gracious to us, they comped out one meal, our salads, bread and deserts. Out of 10 day stay that was a high light. We will go back to Tommy Bahama, but we will not go back to Gulf Side 402. The host (Kimberly Land Realty were very gracious and offered to help us move out on our last morning
