Ready to relax and enjoy the beach lifestyle? Sunshine Cottage is waiting for you! This 2 bedroom, 1 bath charmer was built in 1930 and is located in a quiet area 6 blocks from the refreshing Atlantic Ocean. That's a short 10 minute walk before your toes hit the sand! Sunshine Cottage has the character and appeal that only a historic home can offer - original heart pine wood floors, fireplace, windows, doors and knobs, and built-in cabinets. While historic, the cottage has lovingly been renovated and includes all the modern amenities to keep you comfortable, without losing that vintage coastal charm.

Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail on the front screened porch. The coastal chic interior of Sunshine Cottage welcomes you as soon as you walk in the door. Two comfortable sitting areas, one equipped with a 48” HDTV; the other a cozy fireplace.

Sunshine Cottage offers two quaint bedrooms. Perfect for a couple or small family and comfortably sleeps four. The first bedroom features a queen sized bed and TV. The second bedroom features twin beds.

The dining room table seats six and allows plenty of space for gathering for meals. Original built-in cabinets provide extra storage space for guests and showcase the craftsmanship from years ago. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking essentials, glassware and dinnerware. A full size washer and dryer are located directly off the kitchen in an enclosed porch.

All your beach necessities are housed in a storage shed in the fully fenced backyard – bikes, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and beach toys. There is also a gas grill and pavered seating area.

You are within walking or biking distance to the heart of Jacksonville Beach – restaurants, shops, bars, festivals, Sea Walk Pavilion, life guard station and pier. Mayo Clinic is conveniently located 10 minutes away.

Onsite parking is available for two vehicles.

Dogs are allowed up to 50 pounds, maximum 1. Please inquire about dogs before booking.

Basketball weekend

This house is wonderful. Charming older home with updates. Very clean and well cared for. Excellent location! Very short walk to Parlor Doughnuts. Very close to Jax beach fishing pier and park with great restaurants. Would recommend Jekyll Brew and Oaxaca! (150 Cleaning Fee and required insurance, but I would probably ask for this too). Wonderful home and location.

Great location and nice kitchen

Sunshine cottage was an easy walk to the beach and shops. The kitchen was really nice and well stocked. The large dining room table was perfect for my family. Overall Shawn and Cyndi made it easy to reserve and were very accommodating.

Awesome Tasteful Cottage on Jax Beach

I was at the GoRuck headquarters for a competition event. Just a block away, great neighborhood. A few blocks to the beach. Host is great, easily reachable, and no issues at all in that department. Vintage very private two bedroom home that’s tastefully appointed in the contemporary beach vibe. fully stocked pantry and laundry room, everything you might need. Can’t go wrong with this property. Plenty of coffee and tea and all the things that go with coffee service. Pots and pans need updating but dishes, flatware and glassware all excellent. Shed full of beach chairs etc. Gas Grill, private fenced backyard. Awesome screen porch for dining alfresco! Big fluffy towels and sheets all great quality and plenty of extra if needed. Super fast cable internet and cable TV on newer TV’s. Highly recommended.

AMAZING getaway

Such a beautiful home in a very safe, secure feeling neighborhood. Very quick, direct walk to the beach. We were fully stocked in the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms with everything we could have needed plus more. They provided wine and coffee!!! Adorable backyard to hang out in, lovely covered porch, cozy sitting rooms, updated kitchen in an old house that had lots of charm and character. Absolutely would recommend anyone to stay here, and will be searching for open dates for ourselves to come back to visit again. Host was extremely kind, hospitable, understanding, and helpful. Cannot say enough great things about our stay and experience start to finish! Thank you!!!

Very accurate description online. Charming historic cottage with modern touches. The hosts were so accommodating and friendly. The home is close to the beach and very Walkable to local restaurants as well. Use of the bikes were a plus. Bed was comfortable. Also well stocked. Would definitely recommend!

Beach Getaway

Sunshine Cottage was the perfect place for a beach getaway. The house is stocked with all the amenities you would need for the beach. Having the bikes and the beach chairs already there, made for much easier travel and packing. The house is conveniently located to great beach access and centrally located to all the needed places in town. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Very Nice Beach/Church of Eleven22 Trip

This home was very nice and we loved all the small touches the homeowners did to make us feel welcome. Very well kept, clean, and convenient. The homeowners thought of everything we might would need! Perfect location

This quaint cottage is located in a nice neighborhood good for walking a dog. It's an easy walk to the beach or if you decide to drive, parking during the week in the town parking lots is usually free. My dog loved spending time exploring the fenced backyard.

Great Property

This was our second stay at this property and was great again. Location is great. Easy walking distance to beach, Maple Street Biscuit Company and Jax Braus House which has best brunch in Jacksonville. House is well furnished and and fenced backyard was great for our dog.

Excellent beach cottage

A classic east coast beach cottage, very well maintained, furnished, & decorated. Easy walking distance to the Jacksonville Beach pier. A major grocery store and restaurants are nearby, but it's in a quiet neighborhood. All the appliances work. We would definitely stay there again.

Sunshine Cottage is exactly what a beach cottage should be! The hosts thought of everything including a welcome bottle of wine! Perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood close enough to the beach and restaurants that it is easily walkable to avoid parking. Great fenced in backyard perfect for the pup or children. Perfect location and no problems

It is a great spot and a short walk to everything: beach, Publix, church, restaurants, beach museum, hairdresser, spa, Walk out early and get the sunrise pictures. We have stayed four times already.

Nice place, good for two, neighborhood??

We had a decent time at the place, very clean, everything is there. We came from Switzerland, took a longer trip and can compare different places now. What you have to know for this one: everything in the USA is XL, the pictures make the place look like an L, but it is actually an S! For our teenagers and us it was a bit too tiny. Having one bathroom with a shower that barely fulfilled it’s needs, we wouldn’t want to spend a whole week. The bigger problem was the neighbor next door. He had his friends over for a nice techno party on Friday night and cranked the speakers far beyond midnight. The other house is so close, that our bed was vibrating. Since he didn’t open the door, we ended up calling the police, what was very effective. Also to mention: everything is getting a bit old, paint coming off the ceiling, the bikes and other stuff in the shed halfbroken or mouldy, the locks on several doors not really functioning. The beds were good and firm, the beach not far, grocery store around the corner….

We have lived in the Jacksonville area for over 30 years. Even though we did not grow up in the Beaches area, we met, married and made it our home many years ago. Now, four children later, we continue to love the area and have no doubt it's the best part of town.

In the day and age of condos and cookie cutter homes, it's a rare find to own a piece of history. We love the uniqueness, character and charm of this little cottage!

Although renovated, the original charm of the cottage still exists - beautiful heart pine floors, rope and pulley windows, five panel doors, brass door knobs, brick fireplace and built in cabinets. We can't forget about the wonderful screened porch and swing too! And the nice sized fenced backyard offers privacy.
