Rustic creek side cabin sits behind a historic general store in Fines Creek. It is sits right on the rushing creek with a stocked trout pond in the front both perfect for fishing. You will enjoy the two porches this home has to offer, where you can grill your fresh catch. Picnic area with table and chairs overlook the creek where you can build a campfire. This 2BR/1BA cabin with a Queen size bed and cathedral ceiling. Wooden ladder leads to loft with twin beds, and also has a sleeper sofa Great setting for a getaway, great stop for bikers who are enjoying the Rattler on the way to Hot Springs. Enjoy the two acre property. It has a covered pavilion, firepit and fish in our trout pond (business hours/charge by the pound/no throw backs) all on our two acre property. Just a short drive of about 15-20 minutes to Waynesville which has everything you need, Appalachian Trail which crosses over Max Patch is about 15 min. Close drive of about 25-30 minutes to the historic town of Hot Springs also know as the Rattler to biker enthusiast. Asheville is about a 30 min drive as well. Wireless Internet Availabl

Peacefully stay

The cabin and the property are very nice. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Having the general store next door was very convenient. Mr. Ferguson greeted us and was very welcoming. The staff of the general store were extremely kind. We will come again!

Sweet and relaxing!

Excellent place to unplug and sleep to the sound of the bubbling creek behind the cabin! Access to excellent hikes and good local eats. We had a sweet time here!

Great place for a short stay. Owner was very nice. Our boys loved the loft area. Property is very peaceful and serene. Maybe a little TLC to the cabin. Couple light bulbs burned out, remote batteries dead (but found replacements). Just minor things.

Not Exactly As Described...

I was so excited as I drove to the cabin and soon was so disappointed. 1) No air conditioner (and not mentioned in VRBO Ad) and sweated day & night. 2) "Kitchen" consisted of a small microwave, old coffee pot and micro-refrigerator that did not get cold (my medication spoiled, losing approx. value of $300). 3) Bed mattress is very old (no support whatsoever and can feel the springs in your back). 4) Multiple dead bugs on every window sill. The cabin felt dirty, run down and only had a very low standard of quality for its amenities. I booked the cabin for 5 nights but only stayed 17 hours... I could not stay any longer. The last disappointment was a refund of only 37%. These are my top three

Cute cabin with creek and pond

A great stay right off 209. Loved the small details of the cabin. Nice babbling creek just off the back porch. And the front porch is great for hearing the frogs and crickets at night. It was a great stay while we visited family in Asheville.

A perfect cabin

This cabin was all that we had hoped for -- and more. It gave us plenty of room for our group of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens, 1 pre-teen). The hosts were wonderful and made us feel welcome. They recommended a trip to Max Patch (14 miles away) to watch the sunset, and I'm so glad we followed their advice.

Meh, read about it carefully

So it is SMALL. But that isn’t the worst part. The owners were nice and the cabin was clean, but tiny is not an apt enough word. There is no fireplace, no room, bunch of wall heaters. NO AC but the owner says “you don’t need them. Pond is a commercial stock pond, so unless you want to pay per lb for a catch, don’t bother. The cabin is directly behind the store, as in, in the back parking lot. The creek is nice. But I would stay unless you only plan on sleeping and then leaving immediately. Because of no ac, you have to keep the windows open, which sounds nice except for the locals who race motorcycles up and down the road. Owners didn’t stock extra toilet paper, and the WiFi they tell you to use is horrible (there is another network that uses the same password that is better). There is nowhere to cook except a portable two burner stove and an outside grill. The fridge is a mini fridge and a small one at that. If you use the pullout sofa it takes up the entire room. Overall, it needs to be downgraded to “sleeps” 4 max and more details put in. But I’m guessing if they did that they wouldn’t have many looks/stays.

Unique getaway

An adorable and peaceful mountain setting on Fines Creek with rapids just feet from the back door. Absolutely relaxing! Kudos to the owners for handing the details. Mountain holly, blue iris, roses and other plants were a treat to our eyes. We highly recommend this place!

A quiet piece of paradise

If you want quaint, quiet, rustic this is your place! This small cabin is located away from the rush we’re all trying to escape. James, the owner came by after we arrived to personally welcome us and sit a while. We thoroughly enjoyed his visit and the suggestions he made to enhance our visit. Although secluded, this cabin is plenty close to area attractions. And don’t forget to have a meal in the country store in front of the cabin! We will be visiting again!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

Just as good the second time!

Sonia was so kind and helpful. James and Steve gave great advice for hiking and scenic drives and lots of interesting info about the area. The cabin was just the right size for the 5 of us. It's away from it all, but close enough for day trips to Gatlinburg and Asheville. We loved walking up to the cafe for breakfast, having a fire by the creek, and the kids caught trout in the pond and cooked them up for dinner. It's the perfect place for making memories!

Not what we thought it would be honestly

I am giving this review because it is our honest feedback about this property. The owner was very nice however- the location of this cabin is directly behind a store. In the description it looks like it’s far away but it is definitely NOT!! Also- there were ants crawling all over the counter tops and the toilet runs forever. The water in the shower runs hot and cold as soon as you turn it on. The cabin is not big enough honestly it’s just too cramped. A house is behind this cabin!! No privacy! Batteries in remote were dead! These things should be checked. They only have streaming services. The volume you can not turn it up on either tv. The heat in that cabin makes the cabin way too hot(the cabin is too small for that heater) we had it on 68 and it was too hot. There was a white cat that kept coming around as well as a dog that was not on a leash. To top it all off- our last night there- we heard some people outside arguing and yelling at each other loudly, VERY LOUDLY!!! The owner came and told us it was his great grandson and some others. You will not have cell service to call out in that cabin!! Only way of communicating is through the VRBO app. If you are going to have a house in a rental program- it needs to be updated and everything needs to work properly. The guests should not have to work on the TV’s! The toilet paper was paper thin. Cabin is NOT as pictured, they left out the big tanks and stuff and how close it is to the store and people live in the store!!

This property was so cute & cozy! My family enjoyed everything about our stay here & visiting a new area. The creek in the back was so soothing. We had breakfast from the general store & it was delicious! We would definitely stay here again!

Cozy little cabin in the mountains

Had the opportunity to spend quality time with my family there and had a good time, the location is easy access to Ashville and Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, and the beautiful mountains landscapes of NC had the opportunity to meet Mr. Ferguson and was a pleasure to speak to him and know more about his beautiful and historic store. We wish we had more time to try their famous breakfast. The back porch is extremely relaxing. It's definitely a place we want to come back.

Perfect little getaway...

My husband & I stayed here for our anniversary. Such cute/cozy little cottage. Perfect for 2 people. Having the creek out back running was music to our ears. Short drive to Maggie Valley & Waynesville, both of which we loved! Will definitely be back!
