Welcome to Commodores Retreat 402, a bright and breezy 3 bed (one is a loft) , 2-bathroom beachfront condo with an upper loft, offering panoramic Gulf views and accommodations for up to 10 guests. The Main Bedroom features a King bed and a private bath, while the Guest Bedroom offers a Queen bed with access to the shared hallway bath. The upstairs loft provides extra sleeping space with a Queen bed and two sets of twin bunk beds, making it ideal for kids or additional guests.

The open-concept living and dining area includes multiple access points to the private beachfront balcony, where you can take in sunrise or sunset over the water. This location is great if you want close proximity to the beach! Love the included beach service. Our only cons were that the beds were hard as boards, very uncomfortable. And the cookware was in rough shape. Nonstick pans are peeling, utensils in rough shape. Had to get our own hand soaps for bathrooms. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay here.

Beautiful property. Love that it's on the beach and no stairs. Very quiet area. Convenient to all the best parts of 30A. We are big fans. Will stay here again.

Great find!

The location and view were amazing and exactly what I was looking for! The furniture was pretty dusty when we arrived. We were concerned about only having 1 parking spot, but were able to make it work.

2nd time staying, we love it!

It's becoming a yearly tradition to meet my kids and Grandkids here (halfway for both). We love the location, and being on the top floor. Seagrove is a beautiful area, not too crowded, very quiet, the water is perfect. We love Commodore's Retreat, especially this particular condo.

Great spot

Great spot on a great beach. The property is a bit tired but who cares-we weren’t there for a five star resort. The deck makes the place great. Plenty of beds for everyone. No complaints.

The property was deep cleaned upon your departure. If you have a chance, please email us with the particular things you weren't happy with while here. Some painting was done prior to your arrival and mattresses were replaced.

Commanders retreat 402

Overall, we had a very nice stay and loved the property location. The unit itself could use some updates, but was clean and very roomy. We really enjoyed the large balcony and the beautiful view. The property management company was very responsive and super easy to work with as well. All around a great vacation experience!

Nice Place to Stay

Good location! Nice views! Enjoyed the large balcony! The washing machine does not work properly as it did not clean our laundry and left orange stains on our clothes and towels.

When I received this review, I asked our maintenance team to go check the washing machine, when he arrived, the current guest was on their 3rd load of laundry and said that it works as designed and didn't stain any of their white laundry. I'm sorry you had an issue with your laundry.

Excellent Value Great Location

Although the unit needs a refresh and a few repairs it served its purpose and all the other amenities did not disappoint. Location! Location!! Location!!! Direct private beach access, plenty of space, spacious sun deck, and endless ocean breeze. A great place for families with multiple kids. Management company was excellent to work with.

If you are looking for spectacular view this is your place. No, it’s not newly updated…floor squeaks…screen was broken…but does any of that really matter when you can almost touch the ocean ?

Beautiful condo. Beautiful view. Great location. Can’t say enough about how nice this place was. The view was so great. Oh my and the deck was huge!! The 4 free beach chairs and umbrellas were a great perk. Short boardwalk not a long walk to beach. Tons of sleeping room. Excellent ease of check in. Bathrooms are small. That’s the only drawback but not a dealbreaker at all. My suggestions are: 1. A tankless hot water heater or a bigger hot water heater, would be great. Condo sleeps 12. We only had 6 and had trouble having enough hot water. 2. A deadbolt or other interior locking mechanism would make me feel safer than relying only on the keypad. Only issues other than the hot water were that the master tub wouldn’t plug. Maintenance said it was all rusted out underneath and would have to be replaced so they brought a rubber flat stopper. Worked fine. And they were quick to find a solution! The elevator was not working when we got to property to check in and we were on 4th floor so I almost panicked. lol. But we went up the stairs and called it to the 4th floor and were able to take it down so we could load it up. After that it worked fine. Everyone said it had been out all day.But overall great condo. Small issues but nothing that was a dealbreaker and property management were quick to respond and solve problem.

Great Views, Great Location

The location and proximity to the beach could not be beat. Overall the unit was exactly what we were looking for. The deck was the best part about the place. We ate every meal we had from the deck overlooking the ocean. I would definitely stay here again. There were a few small things that could have been addressed in the interior of the space that would go a long way. However, They are minor in detail and overall didn’t take away from the experience.

Great location!!!! Property could use a facelift.

Location was Wonderful!!! Balconies were getting worked on so workers were on them and asked us to leave a few times so that was a bit frustrating. The overall property could use an entire facelift our unit particularly bathrooms were dirty and one of our toilets would not flushing could not get maintenance up till the second day we were there.

Yes, you did have to deal with some inconvenience due to the balcony work that was finishing up, my apologies, that was supposed to have been completed well before your arrival. As for the toilet issue, there were many girls staying in the condo and feminine products that should not be flushed were placed in the toilet by your group. It was handled the following day because of how late in the afternoon this was reported to our office.

A week of fun and sun!

The condo is great and everything we needed. Steps to the beach, comfy beds, and an equipped kitchen so we could cook some meals at home. The porch was wonderful to play cards on or sunbathe. Our only complaint would be the wifi is kind of hit or miss. Some days would work and some days would not. Not too big of a deal. Overall it was clean and we had a wonderful time! We will definitely be back!

Great view

Condo definitely needs updating. Hair found in both bathtubs so can’t rate cleanliness any better. The location was amazing however you do have to drive to get most places. The balcony and view were amazing. Keep in mind that there is only one parking space for each condo. We were able to park across the small road so is never posed a problem. I guess it depends on how busy the area is.

Outside bad, no good parking, elevator scary - never been inspected. Carpet and Walkway to beach badly worn. Commode would not work, shower would not drain. Definitely way overpriced.

Cousins Caper

My 2nd stay at Commodore Retreat so knew the excellent location & beach access. The Penthouse unit was perfect for my age range, and the rooftop balcony was the best part. We had other family members staying on property but we all gathered on my balcony in the evening. It does get hot out there during the day. Our only real complaint is the Fob system. All other properties I have stayed in have a code to punch in like on the doors. 2 fobs for a unit that sleeps 10+ is not enough. It was a constant hassle walking back & forth with it. Kitchen was stocked pretty well other than the can opener. Small problem but easily fixed. Kids loved the pool too, esp on the double red flag days. We are already planning a return visit to CR!

Great family vacation!

Was perfect for the kids and Grandkids. The porch was better than expected (especially that view!). The pictures are actually outdated, as the patio furniture has been vastly updated. My only complaint is the pole to the umbrella is broken and unstable, and would not hold up the umbrella. Nothing major though, we very much enjoyed the views, and dining out there. The condo is well stocked with plenty of room for the family. This is our second time staying at Commodore's Retreat, it's always an awesome experience. I love the daily beach chair and umbrella set up, the fact that it isn't overly crowded, easy access to shops, restaurants, and most importantly, Publix. Commodore's Retreat is our new go-to, cozy place to stay. Don't fret about there only being one parking spot if you're going with a group. The overflow parking is literally right behind the building. For some reason we thought we would have to walk for miles or something. It's right there behind the building, with steps. In fact, the Commodore's retreat parking lot is a little small, the overflow parking lot is more convenient for trucks and SUV's. Look no further, and book your stay here!

2nd Time Stay. Great Location

Unit was clean and served our needs. The view is immaculate from living room and Master Bedroom.Huge deck and the beach is perfection. Seagrove is by far my favorite Florida beach area. Seaside is just down the road. We rented bikes which is a must if you want to get the full Seagrove experience. Please note that loft area has steep stairs and no bathroom. Second bathroom is on first floor. My 3yr old and 5yr old grandchildren were with us and we would not let them up the stairs due to fear of falling because of the steepness. This could be an issue for some but was ok for us since it was my young adult children staying in the loft. Loft is HUGE with room to sleep 7 people if you had to. 4 bunks, 2 trundle, 1 separate Queen. Private beach with key fob entry. Pool in back. Too cold for us this trip but have enjoyed it several times before. 4 beach chairs and 2 umbrellas set up included which is HEAVEN to anyone who doesn’t want to lug equipment back and forth every day. Microwave handle hanging by a thread and vertical blinds in living room and master have seen better days for sure but normal wear and tear in my opinion and definitely not a deal breaker. No towel hook in master bath which was a bummer. My 3rd time staying at Commodore’s Retreat and 2nd time in this condo.

Better IRL

The pictures on the listing don’t do this property justice. The furnishings were great and the deck area has much nicer furniture than pictured. We’ve been staying in other various condos at CR for years and this unit has by far the best equipped kitchen when it comes to cookware and dishes. That being said we did have a few grievances. First being that there was a TON of dust on every surface constantly, no matter how much we cleaned. 2nd being that the washing machine left stains on all of our clothes. We contacted property management about the issue and were told we weren’t the first with this complaint. But when the appliance service guy showed up a day later and spent a total of 10 minutes claiming to take the washer apart and not finding anything wrong- he determined it “wasn’t the washing machine”. I’m not talking about little stains. At the end of our 2 week stay I don’t think we had one article of clothing that made it out of the washing machine unscathed. We spent hours at the kitchen sink trying to scrub stains out of our clothes to no avail. That was extremely disappointing. 3rd there were slats missing from the vertical blinds in the master bedroom which made privacy an issue if anyone was on the outdoor deck. It was nice that our rental came with 4 chairs and 2 beach umbrellas. I will say that since the beach in front of the lake and up to the property line is now public we had issues every single day with people setting up tents or umbrellas in front of our chairs. It was pretty aggravating to not be able to sit at the beach without people setting up in the 10ft space between us and the water. We resorted to sending our teenagers out as soon the rented umbrellas and chairs were set up to put additional beach chairs and our beach toys out to avoid public access users setting up 5ft in front of us. Everyone renting chairs had this issue. We’ve never had this problem before so I say future guests should be aware. All in all, the condo was great and we had a fantastic time.
