Modern design with antique heirlooms

Nicely renovated suite with lots of charm including architectural details such as exposed wood beams. The suite feels very spacious with its open concept kitchen, living area and 8 ft high ceilings. It is bright and cheerful with lots of windows, white kitchen cabinets and tile work. Enjoy the heated concrete floors that run throughout the entire suite.

You will find a comfortable sectional couch in the living room as well as a cozy corner gas fireplace. The fabulous kitchen has top of the line stainless steel appliances, plenty of cupboard space and a huge island with 3 stools to have breakfast at or just sit and visit with whoever is cooking a meal. The kitchen has lots of lighting including nice under cabinet lights. Adjacent to the island there is also a table with seating for 4-6.

There are two bedrooms in the suite. The large size master bedroom has lots of natural light and a queen size bed. The pocket doors to the bedroom can be left open to make the suite feel larger or closed for privacy. The second bedroom has cute bunk beds with a single mattress on top and a double on bottom. The modern bathroom is nicely finished with two vessel sinks and lots of storage. There is a bathtub/shower combination.
There is an outside seating area with table and chairs. This suite is located in the East Village area, a residential area with lots of grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops, craft breweries, italian delis. Just two blocks from an elementary school and close to the Pacific Coliseum, the race track, New Brighton Park beach and pool. Just a couple of blocks to public transportation with easy bus rides to Downtown Vancouver only 15-30 minutes away. By car or bicycle downtown is 10-20 minutes away. Also close to the highway creating easy access to the North Shore mountains as well as communities further east.

Your host has lived in Vancouver for over 25 years and is active in the local arts and healing community and knowledgeable and helpful about pointing you in the right direction.

We enjoyed our stay with Odette and Ron. The living space was spacious, neat, and clean with all of the needed amenities furnished. Very gracious hosts.The walking distance to the shops and parks was difficult for me, but using Uber was quick and easy (never more than a 5 minute wait)Odette's lovely garden enhanced our stay.

For clarity and the reference of future guests, our home is pleasant four short blocks away from the high street area just south of us. It is a 5-10 minute walk depending on one’s exact destination. There are no hills. To the west, along our street is a slight decline but far fewer coffee shops/restarants/amenities. Via car, or public transit we are 10-20 minutes from downtown Vancouver, the north shore mountains with extensive hiking trails, and so much more. We have lived in our current home for twenty five years and love this very walkable neighbourhood.

Odette and Ron's apartment has everything we need for our our annual two-week family visit to Vancouver - why would we go anywhere else? When staying for a fortnight things like kitchen equipment and laundry facilities are important and in that respect everything is there to keep us going. With the fine weather we enjoyed the ability to sit outside in the garden was a real bonus. The location is ideal for a number of bus routes to Downtown and over to the North Shore and an excellent choice of shops and cafés on Hastings Street is only three blocks away. Odette and Ron are excellent hosts and live above so are invariably on hand to answer any queries you may have.

This is an absolutely lovely place to stay. The owners are delightful and nearby in case we needed anything. It was exactly as described in the listing. We would love to stay here again for a return trip! We could not ask for anything more!

Lovely clean apartment. 5 minute walk from a busy bus route. East Hastings is a 10 minute walk and gas a few nice restaurants. I'd recommend Plain Jane's ice cream parlour. A further 30 minute walk into Commercial Street and you enter Little Italy, with it's lovely choice of restaurants. Beu the owners dog us lovely and friendly

Great jumping off point for all things Vancouver! Everything that we needed was in walking distance in a safe neighborhood- restaurants, groceries, beer, and public parks to watch the sunset. We did not use public transportation but did see several bus stops close by. The apartment was comfortable with everything we needed. Be prepared to feel like you are in the countryside but with the sounds of city nightlife to remind you that you are in the heart of Vancouver. Odette and Ron have a wonderful garden and a very sweet pup that we loved to see in the morning.

So happy to hear that you enjoyed our little oasis in the city. Public transit goes in every direction from here including downtown, north shore hiking trails and so much more. Although we have a car it is sometimes better to take the bus.

Our family enjoyed a week staying in Odette's suite while attending our son's wedding. The suite was clean, spacious, and featured a well-equipped kitchen with an island that made meal prep convenient. Natural light was especially important to us, and the large windows in this walk-out basement suite gave the space much brightness, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The master bedroom was equally generous in size with beautifully draped windows. The bathroom, with its two sinks and mirrors, was a real lifesaver during the busy wedding preparations and after long days—two people could comfortably get ready at the same time. The bedding felt hotel-quality, and the beds—a king and two twins—had very firm mattresses.The location was perfect for our needs, within walking distance to restaurants and shops on Hastings Street, as well as to the PNE. We also enjoyed picking up groceries at Donald's. A trip to downtown Vancouver only took about 15-20 minutes by Uber, depending on the time of day, of course. Although parking right in front of the house is no longer available, the side streets are nearby, and we had no trouble finding parking.We would definitely stay here again!

enjoyed our stay

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was very clean, cosily furnished and very well equipped. We felt at home and would love to come back anytime. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

Great Stay in Vancouver

We loved our stay in East Vancouver. We were able to walk to the grocery store and many eateries nearby. Odette is such a lovely person and very welcoming. We enjoyed the space each morning with plenty of kitchen amenities to make breakfast. If we come back to Vancouver, we'll stay here again!
