Modern design with antique heirlooms

Nicely renovated suite with lots of charm including architectural details such as exposed wood beams. The suite feels very spacious with its open concept kitchen, living area and 8 ft high ceilings. It is bright and cheerful with lots of windows, white kitchen cabinets and tile work. Enjoy the heated concrete floors that run throughout the entire suite.

You will find a comfortable sectional couch in the living room as well as a cozy corner gas fireplace. The fabulous kitchen has top of the line stainless steel appliances, plenty of cupboard space and a huge island with 3 stools to have breakfast at or just sit and visit with whoever is cooking a meal. The kitchen has lots of lighting including nice under cabinet lights. Adjacent to the island there is also a table with seating for 4-6.

There are two bedrooms in the suite. The large size master bedroom has lots of natural light and a queen size bed. The pocket doors to the bedroom can be left open to make the suite feel larger or closed for privacy. The second bedroom has cute bunk beds with a single mattress on top and a double on bottom. The modern bathroom is nicely finished with two vessel sinks and lots of storage. There is a bathtub/shower combination.
There is an outside seating area with table and chairs. This suite is located in the East Village area, a residential area with lots of grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops, craft breweries, italian delis. Just two blocks from an elementary school and close to the Pacific Coliseum, the race track, New Brighton Park beach and pool. Just a couple of blocks to public transportation with easy bus rides to Downtown Vancouver only 15-30 minutes away. By car or bicycle downtown is 10-20 minutes away. Also close to the highway creating easy access to the North Shore mountains as well as communities further east.

Your host has lived in Vancouver for over 25 years and is active in the local arts and healing community and knowledgeable and helpful about pointing you in the right direction.

Our go-to accommodation when paying our annual visit to see family in Vancouver which is the best recommendation we can give. Although only three of us stay in the apartment, there is plenty of room for a couple of visiting family and everything you need to provide them with dinner! The location is ideal for a number of bus routes to Downtown and over to the North Shore and an excellent choice of shops and cafés on Hastings Street are only three blocks away. Odette and Ron are excellent hosts and live above so are invariably on hand to answer any queries you may have. Saving has already started for our next visit!

Die Gastgeberfamilie war sehr freundlich und offen. Leider war bei unserem Aufenthalt die Terrassentür defekt. Aber insgesamt eine tolle Wohnung mit einer toll ausgestatteten Küche.

Gorgeous

We had such an excellent stay. It was very clean and welcoming. Very well stocked - bedding, towels and toiletries, pantry. Our teens loved the aesthetic with the Christmas lights, chocolates on the pillows and the books. It was warm with heated floors which was a nice touch in the basement. Tonnes of natural light. Easy access to public transit. Couldn’t have asked for more for our Swiftcouver stay!

Chez Odette et Ron

Très grand espace pour faire à manger avec tout ce qu’il faut. Les hôtes sont très gentils et Odette parle même français. 1 grande chambre avec beaucoup de rangement, et une autre avec un bureau. Tout était très bien mets les matelas sont vraiment dû pour être changés. Une chose qui a beaucoup agacé les fumeurs dans notre groupe C’est d’être obligé d’aller fumer dans la rue. On avait pourtant un espace extérieur derrière. Et même si les fumeurs sont très respectueux des lieux et ne laissent jamais traîner leur mégots, ça leur était défendu.

Super ausgestattetes und ruhig gelegenes schönes Apartment mit Gartenterrasse. Man ist in 15 Minuten mit dem Bus in Gastown und in Downtown, 18 Minuten bis zum Canadaplace. Sehr entspannte und angenehme Atmosphäre, überaus freundliche Gastgeber. Unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Beautiful place in Vancouver

We spent 5 nights in this appartment in Vancouver It is in the private house of the owners, who are very nice and welcoming. Everything was as it should be and we felt "at home" right away. Reaching Downtown Vancouver as very easy by public transport. We strongly recommend this accomodation. Thanks again for having us!

Great Stay in Vancouver

We loved our stay in East Vancouver. We were able to walk to the grocery store and many eateries nearby. Odette is such a lovely person and very welcoming. We enjoyed the space each morning with plenty of kitchen amenities to make breakfast. If we come back to Vancouver, we'll stay here again!

Vancouver stay - June 15-19

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic four-day visit to Vancouver with one of our college-aged children, We chose Odette and Ron's spot in a delightful neighborhood instead of a bland downtown condo and could not have been more pleased by that decision. Their house is wonderful, we slept great, we were able to cook a few of our own meals in their well-stocked kitchen, and the whole set-up give our first time in the city a home-like feel. The house and neighborhood are beautiful, a local supermarket, restaurants, and coffee shops are a five-minute walk, parking was a breeze, and connecting to any other part of the city was very simple. We definitely plan to be back in Vancouver while our daughter is in school, and we we will make ever attempt to book this location again. Odette and Ron gave great advice about local sights-to-see and were perfect hosts. Absolutely 5 stars!

Another excellent visit to a home from home

Our third stay here which says it all really. The apartment is comfortable, well equipped in a quiet residential area yet convenient for shops and restaurants etc on Hastings Street three blocks away. If you don’t have a car then there’s ready access to a multitude of bus routes to access Downtown, the North Shore or Skytrain stations at Nanaimo or Renfrew. New Brighton and Hastings Parks are within a few minutes’ walking distance. Odette and Ron are great hosts and live above so are able to deal with any queries promptly.

4 day Stay before cruise

Great communication with hostess, clean and perfect for our family stay before our AK cruise. We took Uber a lot and eventually rented a car due to weather. There is a lot within waking distance and I am sure bus transport would be fine as well. Thank you. Odette

A stay that exceeded all expectations

Very good stay. It is a very nice house with garden. It is about half an hour from the downtown by bus. It is about 10 minutes walk from the nearby shopping street, including many restaurants and supermarkets. the house is very bright in the rooms, and the living room has flowers. The kitchen was well equipped and coffee and tea bags were provided. Ice was provided in the fridge. The living room has a large sofa for many people to relax. Bath towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, laundry detergent were conveniently provided in the toilet. There are two bedrooms in total, one with a queen bed attached and one with a set of bunk beds. All rooms are very clean and tidy. The landlords are very nice and kind, and the family has a very cute dog.

Lovely area, great space

A lovely almost ground level basement suite with some vintage and antique touches. Mixed with modern pieces this gave an eclectic feel to the space, which was warm and comfortable. The kitchen was why we rented and it didn’t disappoint. We cooked up a storm with all gadgets needed. Underfloor heating prevented any damp feeling that basements can have, and the addition of the gas fire made it cosy in the evenings. The bathroom was great, with a window for ventilation and plenty of hot water and loads of towels. The bedrooms are comfortable, but the beds, while comfortable, squeaked; so if you’re a light sleeper do bring earplugs. The smaller bedroom has the furnace room next to it, meaning no closet space, but there are plenty of drawers and enough closet space in the main bedroom to cater to 3 adults. It was a tad noisy at times, but the host lives upstairs and evenings were quiet. We appreciated the on street parking. I was concerned that there would be road noise but it wasn’t the case. Our hosts were lovely people and helpful when we needed it. There are a few steps down to the apartment, with a flagstone path along the house. Don’t wear heels! It is a lovely place to stay though - and spotlessly clean. Thanks for a lovely time.
