Sombrero Beach House: 50' Dock, Pool, BBQ, Bicycles & more!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We always appreciate hearing from our guests and take any concerns seriously. That said, we were surprised by some of the comments in your review because, during your stay, you never brought any issues regarding the dock to our attention. We checked in with you during your stay and specifically asked if everything was satisfactory, and you confirmed that it was. As to the pool, after a few days, you commented that there was an issue and I did in fact send over the pool man. I never heard back from you about it. To my knowledge, pool service had been completed, and had we known it was not resolved, we would have gladly contacted our pool man to return right away. The same applies to the dock — no safety concerns were communicated during your stay. After receiving your review, we inspected the dock and found 2 boards with some minor movement, which we have addressed as part of our regular maintenance. But at no point did the condition present a safety issue. We truly value guest feedback and want every visitor to have a great experience. We encourage guests to let us know during their stay if something is not meeting expectations so we have the opportunity to resolve it promptly. We remain committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and enjoyable property for all of our guests.

The cleaning lady was replaced after she failed to return to replace the broken towel. She wasn’t let go because she did a poor job because that can happen to everyone at least once. Negative reviews are taken seriously and used as an opportunity to make improvements where needed. But they should be fair and complete. It should be noted that I attempted to make things right but my offers were rejected. Lastly, Beach towels are not part of the rental amenities and an after the fact complaint about is unfair. Thank you for your feedback it has been taken seriously and corrected.

Cate, I appreciate your time in writing a review. But I was a bit surprised with your comment about the cleanliness or pillows, since you never mentioned that when I confirmed your satisfaction with the house on your first day or in later conversations. I would have had those issues corrected immediately. Also, I'd like to clarify a couple things. so future guests aren't misguided. When we spoke, I agreed that for future "short term rentals" less than a week, I will provide a limited supply of the necessities such as kitchen soap, garbage bags and clean sponges in addition to the toilet paper and bath soap I already provide. However, if a guest has a specific brand of product or knows they will be using large amounts of any of those items, they should buy or bring their favorite products. Also, as to the pillows, I change them out very frequently. It sounds like you used a pillow that was just too soft for your liking. I have supplied the house with abundant pillows- enough for all sleeping styles and preferences (firm, medium, soft) to ensure even Goldilocks sleeps comfortably. :) Nevertheless, I taken extensive measures to ensure my future guests' complete satisfaction.
