The Tides - Oregon Beach Vacations

Welcome to The Tides, located in Seaside! This charming oceanfront home features spectacular views of the Pacific ocean and Tillamook Head. Step outside the front door and you'll find yourself on the famous Promenade with beach access just beyond. This four bedroom, three bath home can comfortably fit your party of twelve, along with two of your favorite pups! Other features include a huge living room with four different seating areas - watch a movie from one of two couches facing a 53" flat panel TV, or cozy up on a loveseat in front of a roaring fire. You can also curl up in a swivel rocker and read a book, but don't forget to check out the awesome view from the window while you turn the pages! The fourth seating area also faces the ocean with seating for two, great for watching the sunset with a glass of wine and some quiet conversation. You’ll find plenty of seating for everyone in your party, in both the kitchen and the dining room. Whip up a homemade meal in the kitchen with your loved ones, or sit down together and enjoy some takeout from one of the many restaurants in town. Each bedroom is beautifully decorated in blues and an overall beach theme, making you feel right at home. With beach access this close, you’ll love waking up to the crashing of waves and the smell of the breeze wafting off of the Pacific. Don’t feel like staying home? You’ll find plenty of things to do in the Seaside area, including restaurants, the promenade with plenty of souvenir shops, the outlet mall, and even a movie theater if you’d like to catch a film during a stormy Oregon coast day! Come down to Seaside today, and explore The Tides for yourself!

Great location, on the boardwalk and beach

First, this is a typical beach house in a great location. If you’re a pet owner, this property has a great fenced backyard to exercise and enjoy your pets. Both the beach and boardwalk are easy walks to cafes and grocery stores. There are great sleeping and family gatherings areas with Ocean views. Good value for a family gathering.. we will be back.

Super old house. Funky and cool. All the amenities. Suggestions for place; Living Room lights are way too bright. Suggest replacing bulbs with a warmer light. Otherwise it’s a 5 star place.

Great location!

There are some downfalls to the property, in our case mainly windows that cannot be opened. It is not an updated or new property but the location outweighs the downfalls. For our family the location was worth the price.

Perfect location!

Our girls trip was a success in part to the wonderful location of this house. Kitchen is very well equiped and rooms slept everyone comfortably. Bring your own outside furniture, if you plan to watch the sunset.

Old, smelly, no maintenance

It smelled, there was heat on a cold day, it is outdated and there is no maintenance-the radiator system does work and only one of the two space heaters worked while one window was falling out of the building - about a 2 inch crack around 1/2 of it and the upstairs windows did not close with the window cranks. Plus the only way to see the ocean is a glimpse from the upstairs.

Seaside beach house

Overall it was a great experience to get away from all the jam packed city life and just kick back and relax on the beach. No sunshine came through at all but the weather was not bad to just sit outside or open all the windows and let the fresh sea air enter the house. Everyone was very happy overall.

Smells like urine and was extremely dirty.

We rented this house to get married on the beach. The location was wonderful. However, when we arrived to the house, it was extremely dirty and all of the carpet smells like dog pee. They did come in and do additional cleanings which meant we had to leave for periods of time. And we ended up purchasing an odor eliminator spray and used half of the bottle for it to be manageable. If you have any kind of sense of smell, this place is not for you.

Big, needs working windows

The house was spacious, a lot of beds, most of beds and bathrooms are upstairs. Half of the windows are broken and don’t open/close, they need to be fixed since fresh air is a must in this house. It was a super close walk to the beach! Probably not a house you want to bring little children to.

Immediately had to get maintenance because many lights and heat was out. Came within an hour a fixed at fuse box.we had an elderly person with us and most of the stairs are hard to negotiate. Old, but GREAT location

When we first went into the house, I was very concerned. It smelled musty and old.... I hate that smell! Once we aired things out, it was much better. NONE of the upstairs windows open!!! Very, very warm in the afternoon and evening. Luckily, we found 1 fan to use upstairs. It helped, but just needs some ventilation. Location is wonderful and it is quiet.

Old dirty house, good location

This house has a great location, and the good parts of it end there. It is a very old outdated house. Half the windows don’t open (or some don’t even close), there are radiators for heat that were filthy and full of dust and cobwebs, and it overall just needs to be updated. The floors slope and you can hear every single creak. Not only was it outdated but it was pretty dirty when we arrived. Dirty dishes were in the cupboard, hair was smeared all over the shower wall and one of the comforters was sticky and dirty. There were very few outlets in each room (just part of being an old house I guess). The beds were horribly uncomfortable-they creak and bounce. Overall it’s a great location but probably not worth the money you’ll save going to a newer property.

Needs work

Not terribly clean - literally had to dust furniture and sweep floor upon arrival. Things are dated and microwave has broken part, wall paper in bathroom is peeling. Feces outside of upstairs windows should have been removed. Overall we liked a lot especially layout of living room but the house needs some work.

Great week with family

Reviewer Comments: My 2 grown children with spouses and children in tow along with my sister, her husband, and myself enjoyed a wonderful 3 days at the Tides at Seasude. We went to Canon Beach for a day of football on the beach and building sand castles. We walked the promenade and visited the national park. The home was comfortable and we all remembered similar siding as was in our parents/grandparents houses. The beds were very comfortable and twitches was well furnished. Unfortunately we had planned to grill out but the grill as listed on the house description was not operable. We were able to adjust our menu but the grill needs to be replaced or taken off the description.

Location is only compliment for this property

This house is not quaint, it's rundown. Arrived to a dark & musty house (pictures online have been lightened?) Seems to have had minimal effort to update or improve the home which is a shame because the location is spectacular. Everything is either old or cheap. House wasn't prepared for our arrival - all the curtains were closed and the house was musty smelling. There are visible mousetraps, broken curtains, and several windows are fogged up with condensation. Windows upstairs don't open (how is this not a safety issue?) Had to use the space heaters provided in the living room for warmth, the two bedroom tv's weren't hooked up or working, old cheap coffee pot, older furniture, etc. I think the rusted out flag pole in the front yard sums up this house. (and there was no outdoor furniture as stated in the listing) I will say that the house is clean, and again, the location and view are amazing. I wouldn't have such scrutiny if the price was lower, but, the quality should be much higher for the rates they are asking... Just very disappointing and I left after one night. Pam T.

Little House on the Prairie- Antartica version

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home has potential. Unfortunately, if fell very short with us having to leave after only one night. Two meals and ZERO relaxation. We were very sad and disappointed. The home was freezing upon arrival and did not warm up until 1am. We battled electrical issues and plumbing all night and into the morning. While keeping the many neat quirks of the home, update it! You are doing a major disservice by not upgrading the windows to get a better ocean view. The back yard is super cute and quite large for a beach home. The home is very dark. Updating the floors, windows, walls etc would greatly improve this home. The location of the beach access is perfect. Having the fenced back yard also was a plus with dogs. The blankets did not feel fresh. the bed was lumpy. The smell in the bedroom on the main level was intolerant. We usually travel as 6. This time only 2. Thank goodness cause all 3 bathrooms were on the fritz. And only one space heater worked. I have suggested a safer heater than the one(s) that were provided. Walking distance to food, shopping and fun.
