Menorcan Gem 250m from the Beach with Terrace Overlooking the Pool

We purchased our little piece of Menorca in 2017 after falling in love with Arenal d’en Castell and the relaxed way of life on the island.

We’re a family of four, with two grown-up children aged 23 and 20, and over the years Ses Casetes has become a very special place for all of us. We’ve spent many happy family holidays here, creating memories that will stay with us forever.

For us, it has always been a home rather than simply a holiday rental. We love spending time here ourselves and have gradually made improvements over the years to make it somewhere that feels comfortable, welcoming and easy to relax in.

One of our favourite things is how quickly you slip into the Menorcan pace of life – breakfast on the terrace, a wander down to the beach, afternoons around the pool and warm evenings walking into Arenal for dinner.

We love sharing our home with guests and it’s especially lovely to see so many people return to Arenal year after year.

We fell in love with Arenal d’en Castell because it offers the best of both worlds – a relaxed, unspoilt Menorcan feel with everything you need for a great holiday within easy walking distance.

At the heart of the resort is its beautiful horseshoe-shaped bay, with crystal-clear turquoise water and soft golden sand. We might be slightly biased, but we think it’s one of the best beaches on the island!

Arenal is particularly lovely for families. It has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and a great choice of bars and restaurants, from casual lunches and drinks overlooking the bay to lovely evening meals – all without needing to get in the car.

It’s lively enough during the summer to have a great holiday atmosphere, but it has never lost its charm. You won’t find huge hotels, nightclubs or a sprawling commercial resort. Instead, it still feels unmistakably Menorcan.

One of the things we love most is how easy everything is. You can wander down to the beach in the morning, stop for lunch, head back for an afternoon by the pool and stroll out for dinner in the evening.

For those who want to explore further, Arenal is also a great base for discovering the rest of Menorca, whether you hire a car or use the local bus service.

Perhaps the best recommendation we can give is that so many guests return year after year. There’s something about Arenal that keeps drawing people back – beautiful surroundings, a fabulous beach and that wonderfully relaxed Menorcan way of life.

What we love most about Ses Casetes is its combination of location, space and relaxed atmosphere.

It’s a small, privately owned development of just eight bungalows, so it feels a world away from a large holiday complex. Our private terrace overlooks the fantastic shared swimming pool, making it easy to enjoy long, lazy days in the Menorcan sunshine or simply sit outside with a morning coffee or evening drink.

And then there’s the location! Arenal d’en Castell’s beautiful sandy cove is only around 250m away. Within a few minutes you can be swimming in crystal-clear water or relaxing on what we think is one of the loveliest beaches in Menorca.

Everything you need for an easy holiday is close by. There are plenty of family-friendly bars and restaurants within walking distance, along with local supermarkets and shops, so you really don’t need a car.

If you fancy exploring, there’s a great local bus service, including connections into Mahón, and hiring a car gives you the freedom to discover more of the island.

We’re also only around 25 minutes from Menorca Airport, so you can be off the plane and beginning your holiday in no time.

For us, it’s the best of both worlds: a peaceful little complex where you can relax by the pool, with a fabulous beach and everything you need just a short stroll away.
