2 Bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bath Waterfront Cottage on Pleasant Pond

Our property really has three distinct levels, parking on the upper level, down about 10' to the cottage and deck and down about 10' more to the lower lawn and waters edge. The cottage is only about 6' from the waters edge but looking out from the cottage 10'above the pond all you see is water, about a 180 degree view up and down the pond without a neighbor in sight.

We have owned the cottage for over 20 years now and had been looking for a cottage for about a year when we heard this one was going on the market. We offered the asking price after simply taking in the view and grounds. While we have made many improvements to the cottage over the years the view remains unbeatable.

This is a tough review to respond to without offending the guest writer. All the photos on the website accurately reflect that the cottage is on a multi level site and that there are steps from the upper level parking area to the cottage level and from the deck on the cottage to the lower lawn area and dock. All the steps and stairs comply with building codes. There is no ladder on the site. When the guests mentioned they had difficulty with steps and stairs due to their physical limitations I offered two alternatives to access the water for wading, Deeded access to a gradual driveway and boat launch / wading area three cottages away and the availability of a town beach a ten minute walk, three minute drive away. There are no steps at either one. We were at the cottage within an hour of our guests departure to set it up for incoming guests and did not see any evidence of bugs and spiders upstairs nor have we had any prior comments regarding bugs and spiders inside the cottage. We did throughly clean the outside of the windows and screens on the main living area facing the water of dead bugs and spiders which accumulate due to interior lights in the evening.

We went on the firm side when selecting the mattresses, assuming that guests would find it easier to add an extra comforter or sleeping bag to make then softer, as you did, then find the beds uncomfortably soft. We hope that you will stay in our cottage again next season.

Thanks for the very kind comments and for commenting on the view and the solitude. The orientation of the cottage and the deck contributes to the sense of having the pond to yourself. While there are motorized boats in the pond they are out nearly exclusively on weekends.
