Cascade Mountain Retreat est une propriété 3bd / 2ba (9 personnes) est à seulement 10 miles à l'ouest (environ 15 min) de Colorado Springs. La propriété offre un emplacement idéal à une courte distance de marche de Green Mountain Falls, du lac et du parc et de ses nombreux restaurants. Vous pouvez vous promener en parcourant le sentier Fountain Creek pour prendre un excellent petit-déjeuner au restaurant Pantry sur le lac ou pour déguster un dîner tardif au Mucky Duck ou prendre une bière ou un verre de vin à Blue Moose Tavern et profiter également des vues sur le lac. . . Si vous amenez une grande famille avec des enfants, ils peuvent faire un pique-nique sur le lac (il y a des tables de pique-nique dans le parc) et une aire de jeux pour les enfants ou un bassin communautaire (moyennant un petit supplément). Il y a beaucoup d'attractions à quelques kilomètres: l'autoroute Pikes Peak vous emmène au sommet de Pikes Peak; Le Parc d'attractions Santa's Workshop sera l'endroit idéal pour les enfants de tous âges; Le Centre de ressources pour les dinosaures (Musée) est une excellente expérience éducative pour tous. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument est un grand parc plein de merveilles géologiques ... La maison dispose de 3 chambres: chambre à coucher principale (lit king size); Chambre d'hôte (lit queen) et une suite familiale (un lit queen et des lits superposés (complet et jumeaux). Il y a deux salles de bains complètes chacune sur chaque étage. Le salon spacieux est équipé de 2 jeux de meubles en cuir et d'un grand téléviseur. La cuisine complète a tous les appareils, y compris le lave-vaisselle. La grande table pour 6-8 personnes dans la cuisine peut être utilisée comme salle à manger. Il y a également un salon avec une table à manger et des canapés en bas avec une petite aire de jeux pour les enfants. Le niveau principal a des planchers de bois franc et une cheminée qui ne peuvent être utilisés que pour une saison de vacances.

Il y a une grande clairière à l'avant de la maison où vous pouvez voir beaucoup d'animaux sauvages surtout des cerfs, des écureuils, des lapins, des oiseaux. Un invité a vu un site d'ours dans la nuit. Les ours sont pour la plupart timides. Nous vous recommandons de garder un bouton de panique de voiture à portée de main pour les effrayer si vous rentrez tard dans la nuit. Nous n'avons jamais vu d'ours là depuis sept ans. Mais il ne fait jamais mal de faire attention.
Les vues sont magnifiques, le cadre est paisible, l'emplacement est génial: à seulement 5 milles de Woodland Park et à 8 milles de Manitou Springs. Venez profiter de notre retraite Cascade!

We loved the location of the property aswell as the cabin. The cabin had plenty of room and area for the dogs to play. We will definitely come back.

Location is perfect

The location is great for fully enjoying the Rockies. Walking distance to Green Mountain Falls, easy drive to Woodland Park, convenient drives to the Colorado Springs Zoo, great access to several hiking trails and conveniently located to several golf courses. East-facing deck is a great place for morning coffee or evening cocktails and the side patio worked really well for grilling.

Awesome Stay

We had a very nice stay. It was a big group of people and the owner/manager brought us an extra bed. It is very quiet in the area and a lot of wildlife. Beautiful view. Great location close to everything. 5 min to Woodland Park, 7 min to Manitou Springs, a short walk to Green Mountain Falls. We will stay here again! Thank you!

Cascade Retreat

The house was perfect for our family. We had 6 adults and 2 children ages 4 and 5. The play room in the basement was just great for the kids! The kitchen was well appointed, we thought the oven was ‘slow’, but then....altitude.

Enjoyed location and the drive to Colorado Springs

The home was cozy and had everything needed for my husband and I. We enjoyed walking in the area and watching and taking pictures of the deer’s. Only one bathroom had towels but because was only my husband and I was not. Problem. Originally my son, wife, and baby were going to stay with us but they decided to stay at their house because would be easier with the baby. I enjoyed the evenings it was colder than I thought it would be so did not missed a/c. Was nice to have wallmart closed by. Julia thank you for all the info provided to us on everything we had around us. This made things very nice for us Great host!

Too many signs/ rules

We arrived to find the linens still in the washer & dryer, for us to finish and put away. There are far too many rules. There are signs all over the home to remind you constantly of the many rules. I am positive that we do not need instructions over the toilets on how to use them. The pictures in the listing must have been taken several years ago but everything is worn. The patio furniture is nothing like the photos. It clearly need replacement. The area is beautiful. We will return to the area but would not rent this home again.

All beds were beautifully made and all towels were folded. We found two towels and let the guest know that they are in the dryer. There are only two signs not to throw anything in the toilet as we are on a septic system: some guests are not familiar with the septic. We ask to put the trash outside only on a trash day: we don't want to attract bears and other wildlife. The pictures are all current. I am glad the guest liked the area and found it beautiful. We are improving the property every year. Thank you for the review.

Beware of unscrupulous owner!

The owner charged us $300 for damages we did not cause. Accused me of knocking over a mailbox, and of being too slow-witted to realize it. Also accused us of staining and tearing patio furniture we did not use. We have stayed in VRBO's all over the world and have never had a problem. Our family policy is to ALWAYS leave areas we visit nicer than we found them. We are active in Scouting and enforce this rule regularly. This visit was no exception. We replaced the propane tank for the fire pit, left extra toilet paper, cleaned the place thoroughly and my wife even did the laundry before we left. In retrospect I should have paid more attention to the red flags. 1) Description says pet friendly, but fine print says no pets during busy season. 2) Excessively long rental agreement. 3) Signs in the house explaining how to use a toilet and how to use a sink. Despite this unsavory renter; the house is nice, the area is amazing, and we enjoyed a very memorable and pleasurable vacation.

The guest knocked down and broke the mailbox post when backing up his vehicle and ruined a couple of new patio chairs. We had to subtract $100 from his deposit for the damages. We expect our guests to be respectful. We allow pets only during off season time of the year Sept - May when we have more time to do a deep cleaning after pets. We are happy to hear that in spite of this unintentional damage, the guest enjoyed his stay and found that the house was nice and the area was amazing, and had a very memorable and pleasurable vacation after all.

Wonderful retreat, great views and location

We reserved this retreat for Thanksgiving holidays. We are very happy we did. The house-retreat is cozy with enough room for our family of 8. All furniture in the house is made of aspen log, It creates an ambiance of Colorado mountain lodge that you don't have to share with anyone else. The views from the deck are wonderful. A lot of wildlife around. There are two deck: one in the front where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and see some deer, squirrels, foxes, birds... The other deck has a BBQ grill and a small propane fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows with kids or enjoy a glass of wine while guys are making hamburgers on the grill. The location is great: you can walk just a mile to the lake in Green Mountain Falls where kids would have fun on the playground. Adults can enjoy a few bars and restaurants right there on the lake. You can fish in the lake or feed geese and ducks. A walk back to the house-retreat is along Fountain creek that has a very nice pass with some works of art. The house is near by Cascade and Pikes Peak highway that will bring you to the summit of Pikes Peak. Santa's Workshop amusement park is just a few miles away. Kids will love it any time of the year. All other attractions are very close. Manitou Springs is 10 minutes away so it Garden of the Gods, Indian Cliff Dwellings, Cave of the Winds. There is Dinosaur Museum in Woodland Park only 5 miles away. We wanted to visit Wolf Sanctuary, but never had a chance. Make sure you have enough time when you book as this area is very rich in attractions and natural wonders...
