The house "Driftwood Corner" is situated on a quiet private road 150m from the beach, in the seaside village of East Preston (also known as Angmering on Sea).

We refurbished Driftwood Corner with sustainability in mind. Materials used include driftwood from the beach, recycled wood and other materials from salvage yards and gems found in the overgrown garden such as the quarry tiles you can see in the downstairs toilet!

Access is via a keysafe so you can check in anytime to suit after 4pm on the day.

You will have total privacy but we live next door so there is always someone on hand if you need anything - just ask!

Amazing property and wonderful hosts
The town of east preston is a hidden gem. The hosts provided more great recommendations than we could visit in our few days there. They are so friendly and communicative. The kids (6 & 4) loved the house as well. It was stocked with games, puzzles and books to keep them occupied on the rainy days. If we make it to the area again we would definitely stay there. I just wish I could transport this house to many of the other beach vacations we’ve taken.

Driftwood Corner Stay
Just spent a few days at Driftwood Corner in East Preston and had a lovely time. Fabulous house, very friendly helpful owners. We were lucky with the weather and were able to go out and do kayaking and crazy golf, visit Arundel and visits to the beach. Great location, really enjoyable trip.

A truly stunning home in a beautiful setting
My family, our friends and our dog had a fantastic stay at this charmingly decorated and well-located house. Aside from the brownies and flapjacks being a very welcome treat upon arrival, we were also very pleased to find that the house was well-equipped with all the necessities and more, very clean with everything finished to a high standard, and only a short walk from the beach and local shops and restaurants. Thank you Anna and Mark - your attention to detail had not gone unnoticed! We would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely stay
A lovely, well equipped house in an unspoilt corner of West Sussex. Overall very comfortable and Anna was a great host in terms of communication and leaving the coffee, tea etc and some treats in the house on arrival. The only thing we’d suggest is better curtains/ blinds in the bedrooms and a mix of pillows (some softer) to suit everyone’s tastes. We personally like dark bedrooms at night so did struggle with the light coming through in the morning when you want to have a bit more of a lie in on holiday!

Absolutely amazing place for the whole family, 3 generations
We had an amazing holiday at this property, the house was very clean, spacious and has a excellent vibe. Our party consisted of 5 adults, 2 children and a dog and found the house easily accommodated for all. It was furnished to a very high standard and has everything you would need and more. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs near byand the house is only a stone throw away from the beach, which was perfect for paddle boarding with the kids and for dog walks. The owners, Anna and Mark, were extremely helpful, nothing seemed to be a problem for them. We stayed for a week and would highly recommend to all.

I live with my husband Mark and our crazy hound - Nala in the seaside village of East Preston. We are keen watersports enthusiasts and can mostly be seen around the local area in our wetsuits :)

We raised our family here over the past 16 years and now the kids have flown the nest we want to share this magical place with other families so that they can enjoy all this seaside village has to offer! We have two holiday homes here - Driftwood Haven which was our family home and Driftwood Corner, which we renovated in 2020/2021.

We run our business, Driftwood Stays from home and we look forward to welcoming you soon. Feel free to ask any questions - what we don't know about the area we will almost certainly know someone who does!

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

We bought Driftwood Corner in 2020. It was a very neglected, rundown property that we could see had a lot of potential. We spent 14 months renovating it, doing the lion's share of the work ourselves but calling in the experts for what we could't do. We have restored as many of it's original features as we could and it is now one of a few left, authentic original style houses that you can find on the Angmering on Sea estate. It has been fully rewired, has new central heating system, new bathrooms and kitchen and stripped floorboards throughout. Character is everywhere and we have used a lot of upcycled materials to really create a unique space. You won't find another house like it! Then to top it off it is a short stroll to a year round dog friendly beach that is relatively quiet as the estate is private so access is not available to the public. It does mean its a very quiet neighbourhood which is lovely if you are looking for a relaxed family holiday but not so great if you want to party!

Driftwood Corner is 90 mins from London by car or train. The nearest train station (Angmering) is 5 mins drive or a 20 min walk away with frequent trains to Brighton, Chichester, London etc. There is a minicab office at the station. Gatwick airport is 45 mins away by train or car. Easy access to the historic town of Arundel and the South Downs National Park. There is everything to do here or nothing - the choice is yours!
