La Gemma di Praiano

Set in a panoramic location, La Gemma is a charming holiday house built on the hillside a few steps from the internal road of Praiano. It has a large, private terrace affording wonderful views of the entire Praiano townscape and of the arch- shaped stretch of coast which goes from Praiano to Positano up to Punta Campanella and the island of Capri.
The house , built on two levels, enjoys a central location with amenities , restaurants, shops, bus stops and all sort of services at just few meters away far from the doorstep.

Recently modernised , La Gemma features comfortable contemporary furnishings complemented by modern amenities, including modern, complete bathroom , a kitchen packed with appliances, air conditioning, satellite television and wifi Internet connection

A car is not necessary during your stay at Casa La Gemma but if you have one , we can reserve a parking spot in a private parking lot at the daily cost of Euro 25/30. (price to be reconfirmed) This cost is payable locally in cash.
The private parking is approximately 700 meters away from the house .

Accommodation (roughly 50 sqm inside and 40 sqm of terraces )
Entrance onto the large terrace of the house . The terrace is equipped with two armchairs with a coffee table , as well as with dining table with chairs, two sun loungers and outdoor shower.
From the terrace access is into the living room with a glass window which takes the whole wall allowing you to enjoy the splendid view of the sea and the coastline from inside. The furnishings include a comfortable sofa ( convertible into a bed) , a television , AC unit.
A 9-step stairway leads to the middle floor with an alcove with a double bed , a large wordrobe, a TV set and AC unit
Adjacent to the bedroom is a bathroom with shower , WC, washbasin, etc.
A further 13 –step stairway leads to the ground floor featuring a folding dining table seating 4 people and cupboard on one side while the other side features the cooking area with a four -burner electric stove, a large fridge with freezer, and small electrical appliances such as toaster, kettle, blender, microwave, etc.

The half-bath is equipped with a washbasin and a toilet.

Access: From the internal road of Praiano ( that runs behind the house) 10 steps leads to the main entrance gate.
From the gate , a 20-step stairway takes onto the terrace of the house

Facilities: Air conditioning /heating reverse system in every room , satellite TV , four-burner electric cooker, refrigerator with freezer, microwave oven, toaster, kettle , ironing facilities, hair dryer, wi-fi Internet access , safe

Damage deposit payable locally in cash= Euro 300

Visitor’s tax payable locally in cash is Euro 3,00 per person per night.
( for a maximum of 7 overnights).
Children under 10 years of age are exempt.

Mandatory cleaning fee, payable locally 100,00 euros per stay
Maid service: on request on confirmation of booking, payable locally. Approximately 15 Euros per hour

Services upon request by prior arrangement ( supplied and payable locally ) food delivery ( (€ 20,00), extra cleaning (€ 15,00 per hour), extra linen (€ 30,00 per room), crib (€ 50,00 per week) , baby sitting ( E 15,00 per hour) porter service for luggage (€ 10,00 per each piece).
Private car with driver for airport transfers and/ or tours and boat tours ( please enquire for details and prices)

Distances: The apartment is located at approximately 200 meters from the centre of the village.
A very good general food shop can be reached within a moments walk as well as restaurants, coffee shops, bus stop for the local shuttle bus and the long distances SITA buses.
The SITA buses take to Positano, Sorrento , Amalfi and the other villages of the coast.
The local shuttle bus takes from Praiano to the beach La Praia or to Positano town centre.
The pebble beach at La Praia is home to several restaurants offering excellent local cuisine, boat hire service and a sub-aqua school .
Another place to go is the beach called “Gavitella”, a charming small beach, located at the bottom of a small and verdant rocky inlet. The beach houses a restaurant with beach facilities which is open during the summer season. The beach of Gavitella can be reached either on foot, walking along a path that includes about 350 steps, or in a comfortable and suggestive way by sea.
