Fairbank - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

On entering the cottage you will be greeted by the modern kitchen diner which is well stocked and equipped for your holiday. The newly fitted facilities include oven, fridge, washer/dryer and dishwasher. The solid wood table seating four is ideally placed for socialising with friends and family while preparing meals and cooking.

The living room with Smart TV, CD player, sofa and two easy chairs makes a warm cosy space to curl up and relax on an evening.

Upstairs the two bedrooms are light and bright with views over Fitz park, which is conveniently only a stones throw from the cottage. Both bedrooms are beautifully presented with quality bed linen and towels to ensure a restful stay.

The fabulous Victorian style bathroom has a modern 3 piece suite with shower over the bath.

There is an enclosed front and rear patio perfect for sitting outside and enjoying some sunshine and a good book. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided.

Visitors to Fairbank have the convenience of a complimentary parking permit for use in the nearby long stay car park.

Good location

Lovely and quiet spot. Perfect for the dog, just across the bridge and straight into Fitz park. Gino liked the little treat box which was left for him. Thank you. Short walk to town centre was great too if tired from hiking. Parking outside cottage is tricky but you do get a car permit for Otley car park which worked very well for us. It is a small car park which fills up, but we could get parked ok with us being slightly out of season. We would stay again.

Great location.

We found the cottage very clean and comfortable. It has everything you'd need for a short break. The location is fantastic, a few steps away from Fitz park, which is very dog friendly and has 2 nice cafes. We didn't use the car all week as lots of walks straight from the door or easily accessible by bus or ferry. The long stay car park round the corner was fine and a permit comes with the cottage. We brought the car up to the house to load/unload it. It's a very short walk to town, and it's easy to get down to the Lakeside (maybe 10/15 minutes walk). We'd happily stay there again. Communication with Keswick cottages was impressively good and quick.

Perfect Location!

This was our 3rd stay at Fairbank and we book it purely for the location: love the ease of access to the town centre, yet there's a feeling of being in the countryside due to the quiet lane and view of the river and park. The house is absolutely fine: the bed is comfy, it's warm and has a little suntrap of a garden at the back. If I were to suggest improvements it would be: provide a long length mirror and a large pot for cooking. We'll definitely be back!!!

The cottage is ideally located, across the footbridge to Fitz Park and a five minute stroll to Main Street. Our hosts were easy to reach and quick to respond. The online information was especially helpful. Parking at the Otley Street lot was easy and just a short walk away. It was quiet at night, The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. A very pleasant place to stay.

Super midweek stay in Keswick

This was our 4th time staying in Fairbank, it’s a great location for us just across the footbridge from Fitz park which means we can exercise our dog easily first thing and be in the town centre within 5 minutes on an evening. Keswick Cottages are highly recommended to book with.

Stunning location

Ideally located just yards away from the footbridge over the Greta into Fitz Park. A beautifully decorated cottage, very comfortable and a great place to stay. Beds very comfortable, and having the sound of the river flowing by is just lovely.

A cosy cottage with in a scenic location.

Millbank is a homely cottage in a peaceful location. It was lovely to hear the cricket match going on in the park and the kids loved being so close to the river and play area. We would love to return one day.

All we needed!

We had everything we needed, it was clean, comfortable and spacious for three of us! It was an ideal location and the garden in the back was beautiful when the sun hit it. Thanks for a great stay!

Fairbank needs a refresh

We recently spent a week at Fairbank (3 adults). The location of Fairbank was perfect for us to easily walk into Keswick and to access Fitz Park directly opposite the property. We parked in the nearby Otley Road car park and even though we only moved our vehicle twice during our stay, we always managed to find a space upon returning to it. However, we were slightly disappointed with Fairbank itself. In our opinion, the property is in need of a total refresh. We noticed various scuff marks on the walls, the shelf in the bathroom was completely rusty (not appealing to stand toiletries on), the outdoor furniture was not appealing with a chipped table and no cushions, the toilet seat was so wobbly it was unsafe and the pans in the kitchen were completely unusable. With regard to the toilet seat and pans, we did contact Keswick Cottages to report these and they did take our concerns seriously and sent a very pleasant chap to us who delivered brand new pans and a couple of days later, after returning from a day out, we found that the toilet seat had been fixed too. Hats off to Keswick Cottages for their help and prompt response with these issues. With regards to cleanliness, there were multiple cobwebs in every room, especially on the light shades. The extractor fan in the bathroom needs a complete clean and we found that water backed up when having a shower and upon inspection, we found the plughole was clogged with previous holidaymakers hair! In summary, we would love to stay at Fairbank again as the location is perfect for us, but unfortunately we will not return unless we know the property had undergone a refresh.

Weekend get away

Fantastic property that was ideal for our needs. Very quiet location but only 2 mins from the town centre and long stay car park. Staff at Keswick cottages were friendly and easy to deal with. Definitely use them again and stay at this property.

Cosy cottage

A lovely cosy cottage right on the river bank and across from fitz park, we loved it! Very well equipped even had an air fryer, we will definitely be returning.

Fairbank cottage

Had an excellent stay at fairbank again. Location perfect and car park 2 minutes away and town square 5 minutes. So handy for walking dogs as next to lovely park Cottage very comfortable and cozy. Highly recommended will stay again.

Great stay

The cottage was lovely and ideal location for us being two seconds from Fitz park with the dog. Easy access to fells like skiddaw and latrigg right outside the door. Would recommend and will be back again soon

This is a lovely cottage in a great location. Ideal for couple or small family group. River is quite loud at front but soon becomes white noise.

Superb location

Cottage was pretty clean and reasonably well equipped but lacked a little in the comfort stakes. The sofa was small and the cottage needs more comfortable seating.

Excellent cottage, brilliant location next to the park and town. Lovely and clean . Highly recommended. The wrong WiFi code was displayed but was easily remedied. Overall a very nice place to stay.
