À propos du quartier

Zermatt

The property was clean and plenty of living area, especially with the balcony for 2 couples. The 2nd bathroom is very tiny but works well. The deck has a spectacular view of The Matterhorn! We arrived to the property in the dark. The directions were not clear to our Uber driver. We called the host but the Uber driver was still unclear and dropped us off with well wishes. The directions said 20 flat steps & it was 40 steps up to the building. We had heavy bags so it was difficult to get them up . This property is not for those who have difficulties with mobility. It would be helpful to have on the directions that the steps up to the property are to the right of Eva Paradies and Andy Haus. If you arrive in the dark, the address and name of building are too dark to see.

We were very lucky to find this apartment. It is located quite close to the center of Zermatt in a very quiet an picturesque environment, even with Matterhorn view from the balcony and one of the windows. It is clean, modern and well equipped. There two equal size bedrooms, each with 2 twin beds and 2 full bathrooms, though one of them is tiny, especially its sink, but functional. Host was immediately responsive to all messages. The only negative thing is that currently there is a construction not far from the apartment building, so on weekdays, between 8am and 6pm there is some noise, especially if you open windows.

The apartment was really quite cozy and just a stones throw from the lifts. We all took our morning coffee on the balcony and enjoyed the view of town and the Matterhorn, delightful! The host was very helpful and extremely approachable and we experienced no glitches. Would highly recommend this location to friends and family.

Excellent Apartment in Zermatt

Lovely apartment, good size for the family. Excellent lounge area and separate kitchen and everything we needed for our stay. For us, the location was the final icing on the cake. 100m from the Matterhorn express and 150m from our favourite bar. All in all win win.

Haus Gornerwald Zermatt

Nice comfortable clean and spacious apartment only a few steps away from the Furi-cablecar. Everything you need is there. Only the 40 steps to the entrance of Gornerwald are in a questionable state and a bit slippery. Highly recommended apartment .

Great location. We enjoyed our stay.

The location of this condo is great - close to the lift and to town. We could walk everywhere. There are about 25 steps up to the entrance door which I wasn’t expecting but we are in good shape so it wasn’t an issue. Overall it was smaller than I was expecting from the pictures, especially the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked though. We were disappointed the fireplace didn’t work but the heat was sufficient to keep us plenty warm. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Great property in Zermatt

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. It has 2 bed rooms and served our family of 5 (2adults and 3 kids) well. The living room is spacious with a large TV. Kitchen and a washing machine are a plus. Condo is very clean and is actually nicer than the pictures on VRBO. It is a couple minutes walk to the Zermatt glacier gondola station and a rental ski shop. A storage for your skis is available on the first floor of the condo. A 5 minute taxi or 15 minute walk from the Zermatt station, where you can enjoy shopping and eating out. Would definitely consider returning to this place on our next visit.

Beautiful apartment close to Matterhorn Express

The property was spotless and very comfortable for our family of five. We had my ten year old sleep on a pull away cot in the family room which was comfortable. The kitchen though small is well stocked with cooking supplies and we cooked in three nights and made breakfast every morning. The views are spectacular and it’s a very short walk to the lift and not too long into town. Really great restaurants and groceries within minutes. The place was nicely decorated and felt like home. We made awesome memories there toasting the new year from the balcony as fireworks exploded over the town and lit up the mountains. Would highly recommend! Also, Nikki was super easy to communicate with.

Excellent stay in Zermatt

It was an excellent stay in Zermatt! The apartment is not the closest to the railway station (but there are frequent taxis that can take you anywhere), but on the other side, it’s perfectly located to go on the mountain, skiing on Matterhorn paradise. Since it can be either one or the other, we were happy to enjoy the closeness every day in and out of the slopes, while we managed coming in from the Zermatt train shuttle. Just a very short walk to the Matterhorn express ski lifts, ski school meeting point (Stoked ski school) and also the ski rentals with Dorsaz shop. Everything was very close and in only one place. The appartement was extremely clean and tidy, with everything one would need for one week stay. With sun and snow at rdv, it was a truly the perfect stay. And ... a gorgeous view of the mountains all day around.

We have been going to Zermatt for over 20 years and have definitely fallen under its spell. The mighty Matterhorn towering above the little village can leave no one indifferent. Anna and Nicki's late mother bought the property in 2003 and managed it up until she died in 2022. Nicki now manages the property along with her army of helpers based in Zermatt.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Gornerwald property was acquired in 2003 when the estate agent told us of a proposal to build a lift from Furi to Riffelberg. This effectively was the missing link to connect up the whole area in both directions from the departure station of the Matterhorn Express, which is just 100 meters from the apartment.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

In less than 5 minutes in ski boots you can be on your way to Italy, or the Gornergrat area or all the way over to Sunnegga...just depends where the best snow is!
