Bracken House - a house that sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms

Bracken House is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac at the North end of Aviemore. This modern house has a large hot tub for the whole family or a group of friends. Bracken House is named after the bracken covered hill behind the house, which is at the foot of the Craigellachie Nature Reserve. You may be lucky enough to spot some visitors to the garden and we have some lovely pictures from previous guests of Red Squirrels.

Enjoy a private and covered hot tub area in the back garden, with uninterrupted views and a BBQ for some evening dining. A secure shed also offers a place for bikes and skis, so plan to do some exploring while you are here.

The accommodation is very spacious, offering two double rooms and two twins. Great for large family or even two families. Kids are looked after and a selection of DVDs and a PS3 for guests use - just bring your own favourite games. The large kitchen and dining room are definitely the heart of this home and there is space for everyone to dine or just relax with a glass of wine with views to the garden.

dog walkers paradise

Bracken House is the perfect place to stay with the forest on the door step and Aviemore within walking distance .The forest has endless trails on the door step and many more only a short drive away .This is the dog walkers paradise and lovely house to relax in at the end of the day .Local pubs and shops are very welcoming making the holiday enjoyable . To improve on everything the only thing I would do is update the refuse collection information and in the cooking range a steamer could be added for vegetables

Hiking Break

5 of us stayed at Bracken House at the start of June for a hiking break, the house was excellent and plenty of room for the 5 of us location was quiet but still only a 15-20min walk into town, we only used the hot tub once but it was a great way to sooth the aches and pains after long hikes in the cairngorms. we were lucky enough to spot a Red Deer in the woods above the house while relaxing in the tub. The Kitchen was well kitted out and overall we were very comfortable there. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it for large families or a group of friends. Its the 1st time I have used Great North Lodges & they were very professional and kept in touch by regular email contact so everything was stress free, there is also someone at the end of a phone too if you need them and they are easy to get in touch with which I found refreshing

Perfect house for a family getaway

Perfect house for a family getaway. Location was great with easy access to dog walking and biking trails. House was well presented, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We enjoyed having the hot tub and that the garden was not overlooked and it was secure for the dogs. Well all loved it. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Only minor negative was the BBQ. It was too small to cook for 8 people and very shallow to get enough coals into it to cook for a house full. We abandoned our plans and cooked inside.

Family weekend away

Nice quiet location, well equipped with everything you need. Plenty PS /DVD’S games to keep the kids/adults happy. Added luxury was the Hot Tub which we all enjoyed after our adventures

Christmas in Aviemore

Great service and information from Great North Lodges. House was easy to find and in a beautiful location. The house had everything we needed and plenty of space which let kids have some space of their own. Beds were extremely comfortable and bedrooms were all of a good size. We had a problem with the heating but this was rectified within an hour or so. Hot tub was the icing on the cake, great after a day out in the cold. Welcome pack was fabulous.

A fantastic property for a family gathering

We are regular visitors to Aviemore and have stayed in a few holiday homes and Bracken House did not disappoint. Great location with a great space for 7 of us and our dog. The hot tub was an added benefit and would recommend to others.

Excellent holiday house

Excellent holiday home in a good location,especially walks from the door with the dogs.Beds were clean and comfy all slept really well .Plenty of space for everyone ,hot tub great to relax in after walks.Aviemore is a beautiful place for all ages ,still love it after twenty years of holidays here .

Lovely spot

The house was great, really well located for local amenities and walking / other activities in the area. The hot tub is a lot of fun and was lovely and clean. Kitchen well equipped. A couple of small areas that would benefit from maintenance e.g. loose toilet seats and some bathroom mould but nothing major. We’d return.

Lovely house and very spacious. hot tub was a nice treat. Rooms are spacious and most of the beds were comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Ideal location, 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk to the centre. Nice little touch or beer and biscuits for arrival

Bracken House

Very comfortable and spacious house and a fantastic quiet cul-de-sac. House was very nice and immaculate when we arrived. A short walk into Aviemore through lovely woods. 6 of us really enjoyed our holiday and would stay in Bracken House again.

A spacious comfortable house great location plus a hot tub

We thought this house was great value for money. It was spacious and well equipped. The hot tub was great. The added touch of Christmas tree and decorations was lovely and festive. We enjoyed the complementary robes We walked from the house and beyond. It is in a great location We would go again

Overall a great property in a great location with the added bonus of a Jacuzzi. Felt that property could have been cleaner. It would also be nice if heating was on for our arrival. Would definately stay again and recommend property to others.

Short holiday

The ideal place to stay for your relaxing Aviemore adventure

My wife and friends of ours have been visiting Aviemore for several years and came across this fabulous house to rent. We stayed here last year and again this year. It is in the ideal location, close enough to walk into the village but remote enough so there is no traffic noise and lots of wildlife on your doorstep. The hot tub is brilliant under a cozy canopy so no issues if the wind picks up, and is large enough to cater for up to 8 people . The kitchen has every conceivable utensil including a laundry room. The linen and towels are all brilliant white and the bathrobes and slippers provided by the house are a lovely touch.

Weekend stay

Had a lovely stay in this lodge with family. It is situated close to town but we never realised it was in a residential street our last lodges in Aviemore were more secluded , however it is a very quiet area. Comfortable lodge with everything you need lots of contact numbers. Central for doing everything and you can walk in town. Would recommend family to use this lodge it also has a hot tub undercover with was very handy and hard to get in the area . Not disable friendly though as no bathroom down stairs only a toilet . Not a problem for us but maybe for others . Lovely comfortable home would use again .

Great base for exploring Aviemore

Great base for the family. Audra who maintains the property was on hand if there was a problem and was very helpful. We would stay there again. My constructive criticism would be on cleanliness, the blinds were very dusty and the windows needed cleaning. We also found an half eaten packet of biscuits, old tv remote and a hair comb underneath one of the settees. Also on arrival we found that the dishwasher was full of the last guests dishes so we had to empty that.

June visit

House is in excellent location, quiet area but within easy reach of Aviemore centre and all local attractions . Good overall amenities, large kitchen with additional seating area , comfy beds and and great to have TV's in all bedrooms. Also great to have hot tub under cover as it can then be used in all weather. Overall spacious well equipped house offering good accommodation for family groups. Rear garden has lovely views onto woodlands and very private. Only downside was that the garden seating consisted of just one wooden picnic style bench. Not comfortable to sit on and would not easily accommodate more than 4 people so if house is at capacity and everyone wanted to enjoy outdoor dining or just relax in the garden this would be an issue. Would suggest some additional garden chairs would be welcome.
