Beautiful Lodge!

We had a wonderful holiday in this perfect lodge, home from home! 3 great areas to sit in the sunshine! Well equipped, clean, fresh smelling (no smelly pillows!) and comfortable. Downside - we had to leave!

Thanks for your lovely review and clarifying that your comment about the pillows being smelly was from stays with other providers!

Lovely lodge close to the meadow area

We found Alana Bay very comfortable to stay in, it is well furnished and well equipped with good sized rooms. It was spotlessly clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only suggestion to improve the experience would be to perhaps leave some milk, a few dishwasher tablets and maybe kitchen roll as personally I prefer not to have to take everything with me or go shopping as soon as I arrive. I love visiting the Bay but this was our first stay in the Meadow area and I must say the condition of the road could be improved, the gravel surface is very messy in wet weather and there are several potholes appearing. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this lodge.

Thanks for the lovely review and glad to hear it was spotlessly clean. There should have been some dishwasher tablets - apologies if our team forgot! Thanks for the recommendation!

Lovely place

This is our 2nd visit to Alana Bay and will not be our last. Both occasions were booked with Paula at Filey Bay Direct. The lodge is beautiful and was lovely and clean. We chose this lodge as it has a secure outdoor area for the dog meaning we can relax knowing when the dog goes onto the large outdoor area he can’t escape!

Thanks for the 5 stars and I agree, the enclosed deck is just wonderful for those with dogs or small children

Best stay

Wonderful lodge, well looked after and ideal for someone with limited mobility. The addition of a log burner is perfect made it really homely, it’s a place we would return to.

Family Holiday

We holiday at The Bay every year and this is the best beach house we have stayed in. Location was fantastic, very spacious and clean. Paula was great in keeping in touch from booking to our departure. We will definitely be back.

Really lovely luxury lodge

Very comfortable spacious lodge. Nice interior touches make it a cut above. Location is central at the top of the meadows behind the lake. Comfortable beds, multiple balcony areas to catch the sun. Everything we needed

Lovely property in great location

We found Alana Bay to be bright, clean and modern. All the facilities were in great condition. The living space was very spacious and well equipped. We loved the location on the Meadows as it was quiet and great for dog walks. The property is only around a 10-15 minute walk down to the beach or 5 minutes from the facilities.

Great time had by all.

In general excellent spacious accommodation, great location and facilities. Very well equipped with everything you need. If I was been picky would like somewhere to put you toiletries in the shower, the tiles on the wet room shower need some attention, a pouffee or foot stool would be a great addition. Would recommend and hope for a return visit. Booking and check in were excellent.

Thanks for the review. There is a footstool already and we will look at adding a caddy for toiletries too :-) Hope to see you again soon too.

Fantastic accommodation and location

The lodge was spotless. Beds comfortable. Had a problem with the drain to the shower which was dealt with straight away. Our daughter is in a wheelchair and there was plenty of space. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Lovely accommodation

Really nice lodge, with lots of homely touches, dish washer and washer, the enclosed deck was great as my granddaughter could play out and not escape. We asked re a bed guard and the manager got one for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Would stay again

Absolutely Fantastic - Will definitely stay here again!

The lodge was absolutely stunning and very clean and well presented. The kitchen has everything you need from pots and pans to utensils and serving trays with plenty of storage throughout the rest of the lodge in the form of lovely side boards, wardrobes and dressing tables. Both the bathrooms also had ample storage and lovely waterfall showers in each, with the main bathroom having the luxury of a bath! It was all the small touches that we really appreciated like the cosy throws on the couches and the assortment of board games and playing cards, with a small utility cupboard also containing what looked like brand new cushions for the lovely patio furniture on the decking - which is also completely enclosed which was great for the dog as he couldn't make a bid for freedom ;) The location within the park was also excellent with the meadow directly behind and a short walk to The Bay centre, where the swimming pool, shops and pub restaurant are all located. With the beach access a further 10 min walk. Paula was great with her communication and even checked in while we were there to ensure everything was ok - great customer service! We are already looking to see when we can book again to go back.

A well needed break

Just had 11 nights at Alana bay lodge and the weather was lovely. Lodge is very comfortable and the enclosed front decking is a great idea when you have a dog. The only downside is the gravel road which is constantly leaving white dust over all the cars and covers your shoes when walking back to the lodge. Will still return for another stay later in the year .

Overall - Very Good

Very nice accommodation, very well equipped for the stay. Front balcony is enclosed which is a great idea as it leads onto the road. Things to improve would be: - tea towel, washing up utensils/liquid, fair enough only 1 dishwasher tablet provided but it is expecting a lot to bring a full washing up set up, would make keeping the lodge clean easier. - state what type of coffee machine it is so coffee pods can be bought in advance. - more cooking trays, especially pizza trays as this must be a very common thing cooked. These are minor things but overall was very good.
VrboOwner a répondu le 29 oct. 2025
Thanks for taking time to review Alana Bay. Our housekeeping team would have dropped the tea towel etc in for you as they must have forgotten those. Glad you enjoyed it overall

Amazing stay at Alana Bay

I've been coming to The Bay for years with my dogs, and always struggled with the lack of enclosed garden space across many of the properties. It never stopped me going, was just one of those things I put up with! Alana Bay address's this problem as the front decking area has had clear Perspex added between the gaps of the decking fencing so is completely enclosed. As a dog owner to little dogs, I've been to many places where it has been advertised as dog friendly to find fences with big gaps so this was a breath of fresh air to be able to let the dogs out with no worries. Inside the accommodation also did not disappoint. Well equipped kitchen, full size fridge/freezer, big bedrooms, a bathroom with a bath (which is a luxury to me as I'm not a massive shower person!) and then a lovely shower room en-suite with a big shower, which I imagine of you like showers would be luxury. Will definitely be booking again and very much looking forward to my next stay.
