Wonderful getaway

We really enjoyed this property - the house itself is very secluded, while still being a short drive from so many great spots in the Fingerlakes area. The house had everything we needed, and we particularly enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen. Thanks to Jim for a great stay & a very easy check-in/out process.

Perfect Getaway

Wanted to introduce our friends to the beauty of western New York. Could not have found a prettier place to use as our “home base.” Loved this beautiful home in a perfect, peaceful setting. Everything was perfect and we will plan to come back again!

Long weekend get away

We enjoyed our stay. Very relaxing few days even though the weather was not the greatest. Wish we could have had a fire but rained every day. House was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Would recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay.

Great location to visit wineries and the larger Finger Lake areas AND still get the secluded feel. Beautiful property inside and out, great golf course very close, Naples is close and has many things to offer,Letchworth State Park 45 min away. Absolutely recommend!

Nice weekend

We were looking for a place to spend a peaceful relaxing holiday weekend and Jim's property was the perfect setting. The cabin is in a very private location. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking out over the Conservation lands.. The home was very clean and with all the windows it was full of natural light. We would definitely stay here again

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway

The house and property were clean and well-kept. It is a private location surrounded by beautiful meadows. We enjoyed all the windows and lovely views from the house. All basic accommodations were included in Kitchen, Bedroom, and Bathrooms.

Relaxing, beautiful location

We thoroughly enjoyed both the house and surrounding grounds of this rental. Both are beautiful! The house was very clean and the interior is well-equipped and very inviting. This property is located in a peaceful area, yet it is close to nearby towns and lakes. The scenery is beautiful. This is one of our favorite rentals and we'll be back!

Perfect getaway

I didn't want to leave. We stayed here all week and it felt like home. Just a perfect, comfortable getaway in the woods. We watched 5 DVDs from the collection, grilled, and roasted marshmallows over the fire pit. I cannot wait to go back.

Wonderful, secluded hideaway with every thing we needed!

This property is magical. I stayed here with some longtime girlfriends. We loved it! We love to cook, & everything we needed was there. It has been recently remodeled & still even smells new, The property is very isolated, but an amazingly gorgeous venue. Yay!!!!

I don't want to leave!

We love it here so much. So beautiful and serene. Love the fire pit. Slept wonderfully. We saw more nature around the pond and behind the house than on our hikes. The chorus of bullfrogs every night is my favorite perk. We'll be back next summer!

Wonderful Scenic Getaway

We loved our kid-free weekend! The bungalow was clean and secluded with all the amenities we needed to relax and enjoy the quiet. A red-tailed hawk gave us a great show, the Eastern Bluebirds were in full-color, and a busy groundhog munched the morning away right outside the window. Distilleries, restaurants, and antiques were all within easy driving distance. We also enjoyed an easy hike close-by. We'll be back!

Peaceful and clean.

House was spotlessly clean. Peacuful, tranquil setting with a beautiful view and small pond. Secluded and private, yet only a few minutes to the local town with grocery store, sandwich shop etc. Jim was quick to respond to any questions I had.

We didn’t see the eclipse but we saw eagles!

The cabin was clean, comfortable and well thought out. We came up to Honeoye to see the eclipse in totality. It rained. The views out the large windows of the mountains and fields changed with the weather and light were beautiful. Surrounded by state land and plenty of trails. Bird watching was a treat with herons, hawks and eagles. We all loved this place. Thank you

Amazing place to escape

An amazing property and the perfect spot to escape for a couple of days. The house has a wonderful open kitchen-living area, the kitchen itself is well equipped with everything you might need. Everything was perfectly clean, and the property surrounding is great. With plenty of space for yourself, a lot of green, a BBQ and A fire pit. I found the location to be perfect for me to escape the city for some days. Remote enough to enjoy the nature but still close enough to a nice little village that allows you to get what you need. Communication with Jim was easy and quick. Great stay, hope to come back.

Idyllic Setting

The reservation process thro VRBO was a nightmare as we never received a confirmation and struggled to contact VRBO, and two days prior to our arrival I spent two hours trying to get the address and access details from VRBO. Eventually all resolved and the owner, Jim, was terrific and most helpful. The cabin is beautiful and fully equipped and most comfortable. The setting is beautiful and we cannot wait to return there

Our Idea of Heaven

This was our second stay at this property within 6 months - we just love everything about it! So clean indoors and well maintained outdoors. Comfortable furniture and beds. Spacious kitchen with a great open floor plan. The pond was enlarged since our visit in the Fall & filled with wildlife. Great bird spotting. The best part is the privacy- there is nothing like not seeing another human being for as far as the eye can see! Perfect escape from city living, yet only a 10 minute drive to the nearest town. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful!

I don't usually do reviews, but this place was wonderful and I wanted to let others know. We were two couples staying there. The house was perfect for us. In addition to being beautifully furnished, everything we could possibly need was there for us right down to the three pairs of binoculars that could be used for close up views of the gorgeous scenery. The property is surrounded by beauty. The kitchen had everything one could possibly need. The house was very clean. There were extra blankets and pillows. The beds were comfortable. We could not ask for a better place. We hope to be back next year.

Beautiful, peaceful getaway

As good if not better than the pictures in the listing. Beautiful, secluded setting off the road with mountain views and a pond next to the cabin. The cabin is very comfortable, spacious, and nicely decorated. I also found the mattress and bedding very comfortable. Jim was easy to communicate with and responded promptly. He was also very helpful as my car broke down within 30 minutes of the cabin. He made sure that I was able to get to the cabin and also called the next day to make sure I was ok and had food. Much appreciated. Hope to be able to visit again.

Pure perfection!

If you're looking for a peaceful, gorgeous, getaway, this property will be perfect. The home is SO beautiful, and had plenty of room for myself and two friends, and contained everything we needed, especially nice having a fully-equipped kitchen for a night in grilling steaks. We had a enough room to spread out without being on top of each other. The land lot is HUGE, and it was wonderful to be outdoors with not another soul in sight, and to be surrounded by nature with no concrete! The property is easy to find via GPS, and getting around the Finger Lakes area was easy with GPS as well. The lakes, trails, restaurants and wineries were all top-notch and fun to explore. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim, the owner of the property, and he was quickly responsive to any questions as well. Choose this place - it's outstanding!! (I'd love to return in the Fall.)

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

This home sat vacant for approx 5 years in foreclosure and was in complete neglect. After about 3 years of chasing banks ,attorneys and realtors we were able to purchase at a public auction. Now the decision was do we tear it down or completely remodel what we have. After closing we obtained past building permit history and saw that there was recent structural work done on the roof which led in the decision to remodel what we had.
It was a family project that took about 2 years to complete giving us quality time to spend with each other. We would have cookouts and sit around the burn pile many times enjoying the outdoors.
We chose VRBO so that travelers could experience the home but I think even more importantly come to the Fingerlakes region of upstate NY and see the beauty that’s all here! The deer , the fox , the birds. All His creation!

I lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come?
