Perfect for right on the beach!
Great location and beautiful non-crowded private beach. So quick and easy to get to beach and close to awesome places to eat and entertainment. Will definitely stay again if available. Owners easy to work with and quick to answer questions. Also, staff of property was very nice and helpful as well.

We had a great stay! Beds were not as comfy as they could’ve been and furniture in bedroom seemed dated. Could’ve taken out the weird piece with glass so we could have more room for our suitcases. Wish there were washer/dryer in unit. But overall it was a great location and easy access to beach.

Great location and property, lack of cleanliness
We loved the stay and the property, however the cleanliness, particularlyl the floors left a lot to be desired. As soon as we arrived our toddler was running around with no shoes and her feet were extremely dirty immediately. Also, the communication about the codes used for the beach gates lacked a bit to be desired. Otherwise, a great stay!

Quiet, laid back, and family friendly. Loved the location and easy access to the beach.
Very clean and quiet. No sounds heard through the walls. Perfect place to take your family and feel safe. The whole property was well maintained and the staff was helpful when asked anything. The beach was never overcrowded even on the weekend. If you enjoy a firm bed you will like it. The kitchen is well stocked if you choose to cook. We loved the balcony because it felt private with fully enclosed sides and gorgeous ocean view. The property is 6 stories so this was great for me because high rises kinda scare me. It is older but it's in great shape and I loved the access codes for the doors and gates. No room cards to keep up with! I will definitely go back!!

Positives: Location was ok, but not close to many restaurants. Second floor made taking the stairs agreeable. Front desk staff was nice.
Negatives: I still have multiple (more than 15) bites on my legs/feet from the bed next to window. My mom slept in the other bed and didn’t notice any problems. Wi-fi signal was dismal and didn’t get better even w trouble shooting. Bring everything you need (hairdryer, spices, paper goods, and anything but basic dishes).
The price was reasonable for the benefits and location.

The deck was awesome
They were doing drywall work in the unit & I never got notified that there would be construction work in process during our booking dates. There was drop cloth plastic on the beds & they were pushed against the wall. We had to remove the plastic & move the beds.The shower off the kitchen leaks so bad it was leaking into the office below. Between the drywall workers, building maintenance & plumbers, we got woke up every morning of our 6 night stay including Sunday. Thank god for the deck as it was where we spent a lot of time. It was only 2 of us so we just used the other shower & that wasn’t a big deal. The lack of privacy was very disappointing.

Our property manager met you all at the unit regarding the shower and apologized for the HOA coming in to make repairs to the wall from hurricane Michael prior to your stay. We offered to come in and remove the plastic for you, but this offer was declined and was noted that you would use the other shower. Again, thank you for your feedback.

Relaxing vacation
We booked this vacation last minute, and this place really ended up working great for us. It's far enough away from the busy area that it's quiet and relaxing with space on the beach, but close enough that you can go enjoy those activities. HOWEVER, the floors were honestly gross. Immediately upon arriving they felt sticky and greasy to walk on, and we had to have shoes or socks on at all times to avoid our feet turning completely black and disgusting on the bottoms. I reached out to the company and they never sent anyone back to clean the floors despite saying that they would.

Spring Break 2022
Condo has been updated with new paint, new master bath. We found the condo very clean. Still a few pieces of old worn out furniture. Sofa is new but uncomfortable for an evening of kicking back and watching TV. Kitchen was adequately stocked for cooking. Could not find a can opener. Love the location and quiet area of the beach. We were here during Spring Beark 2022. The condo was very quite and relaxing. Pool was still closed due to repairs. They were filling it up with water when we left. Perfect quiet location on the beach. Easy access to everything without having to fight the strip traffic. Would definitely stay here again in this unit.

Loved the View
Better than expected. Some nice upgrades have been made that don't show in the pictures. The master bath has been very nicely remodeled, there is a new sectional in the living room, and there is new furniture on the balcony. The beach refurbishment out front was completed while we were there and the beach is beautiful. They are still working on the pool, but when they are finished that will all be newly resurfaced. The interior of the unit as well as the exterior of the building all looks to have been recently painted. The building itself seems to be very well maintained. The washing machine looks to be new, we had no issues.

We had not even unloaded our cart when 2 repairmen knocked in door. They looked at toilet and said someone would be by to fix it. This was Friday. I called and was told it was out in schedule for Tuesday. We tried to make do but early in morning my mother slipped on the water and almost fell because it had run to hallway. I called again and they sent someone else who said he could come back with stuff to fix it but we would be without a toilet for most of the day. We only had one working bathroom for 6 people. So he got us more towels and aww spent the next five days trading out towels when they got soaked.keep towels wrapped around the toilet and change out frequently. The outlets did not work in bedroom. The washer did not work. The faucets in tub were backward so that hot water came out of cold spout and vice versa. We made the best of it but in my opinion this place should NOT be rented out til repairs are dine

The new renovations will be great when they are finished. Unfortunately they were not. See review.
First off let me say. I've stayed at Mariner East or West for the past 5 years now and this visit was the worst by far. The new renovations are going to great when they are done, but they were not. They waited exactly one week before our visit to reach out and let me know that there will be only 1 full bath instead of 2 for our visit for 6 people, very incovenient considering that work could have been done during the winter months. There were no kitchen hand towels provided only 2 kitchen washclothes. After being told that 6 people will be sharing 1 bath room, the toilet started leaking so severly we had to use a huge beach towel on the floor at all times. Electrical outlets were exposed in the living room (so beware if you have small children). In the bedroom only 1 electrical outlet worked (so bring an extension cord to charge your electrical devices). Balcony light and outlet doesnt work. The washing machine stopped filling with water after first load. The very nice new ceiling fans installed had no control. The one in the living are was going full blast and the one in the bedroom was so slow you could barely feel it. No strings to adjust or remotes to be found on the fans. On our last day tropical storm Claudette was coming through and when we opened the balcony door the cheap plastic kitchen light cover feel to the floor. Also the rain from the storm caused water to start coming in the living room from the track of the outside balcony. The front door key pad stopped working but we didnt realize until our day of depature. My opinion, I would definitely NOT stay at this unit until they get their crap together. Cause dont bother going to the front desk for help. They will tell you to call the rental company and you will spend most of your much needed vacation on hold instead of enjoying what you've look forward to all year.

I have been battling with VRBO & RealJoy vacations since the day of checkin. Our reservations were changed, the property given us was absolutely nothing like we originally booked, it was dirty, absolutely unacceptable and we were not allowing our kids to stay there, let alone pay money. It was like an old used apartment, no beach in sight, furniture being held together with glue and zipties, right off of the highway, no privacy, no space for my kids.
I spent 2hours on the phone when we got there and I was told upon arrival I would be refunded 100% with no penalty to me. We paid out of pocket for a hotel last minute. Now 3 weeks later I am still battling with both companies and have not been refunded. I will NOT use either company to book through or recommend them at all.

Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with some feedback regarding your less than perfect vacation rental experience while staying in Gulf Highlands 135, a 2-bedroom/1.5-bathroom townhouse located right across from the resort’s 18-hole mini golf course. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience or frustration caused during your stay. The unit you originally chose was unfortunately not available due to the fact that it was going to be remodeled and unavailable until the end of April. According to our records and information relayed to Vrbo, you were provided with alternative options, including a refund; and you chose Gulf Highlands 135 after being sent photos, amenities, and location details. We would not intentionally place a renter in an inhabitable unit. Since you checked in and used services, a refund was unable to be given after check-out and this was a non-refundable rental, per the rental agreement. Nice, but could use some updates
We had a great time on our 4 day trip in Oct 2020. The condo was as listed on the website, and was great for a family looking to save money and remain isolated from other people during covid. Our main complaints were that the unit definitely needs updating (peeling paint on walls and ceiling, etc), and cleaning could be improved (the floor felt dirty on arrival, the coffee machine still had used filter in it on arrival). But otherwise, we had a great time. Location is excellent (right on the beach) and the pool and grounds were great and well-maintained.

The blinds in the bedroom didn’t work, had to put comforter over window so no one could see in!!
The condo is very dated, the blinds didn’t work in the bedroom and we had to put a comforter over the window so no one could see in from the outside. The air conditioner thermostat was very difficult to work. We had to continuously turn the air down because it would stay on a certain temp! Very inconvenient, every time we left when we came back had to turn down the air.
