Town: Houghton is a lovely village resting in the tranquil countryside of Norfolk, with local walks and attractions close by. Houghton is home to the historic Houghton Hall and Gardens, a lovely place to spend an afternoon exploring the grounds and learning more about the local area. If you fancy a meal out, head over to the Dukes Head Chinese restaurant, or one of the local pubs, including The Crown Inn, and the Rose and Crown Harpley. Close by attractions include the RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre, Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve, Sandringham Estate, and the impressive ruins of Castle Rising. Fakenham is a close by location offering a selection of shops, pubs, and eateries, so guests can enjoy a meal out and stock up on essentials. RSPB Snettisham is a great place for checking out local wildlife, whilst seaside days can be enjoyed at Heacham South Beach, and guests can also explore Pensthorpe Natural Park, and Bircham Windmill, with the Norfolk Lavender fields and the Royal Sandringham Estate. Plenty more scenic seaside walks can be found throughout the Norfolk Coast National Landscape, along which many more beaches await.
