This stay completely changed my opinion of VRBO. The property was not as advertised. The listing photos appeared outdated, and the furnishings were noticeably different and in poorer condition than shown online. The house smelled damp and musty, the flooring was coming apart, an upstairs bed was broken, and paint was peeling from the downstairs shower ceiling.The basement master bedroom door would not close, creating privacy concerns. The bedroom connected to an unfinished storage area used to access the laundry. The area contained a mattress on the floor, personal items, broken appliances, old shower doors, and other clutter. Combined with poor lighting and a damp smell, it felt unfinished and unwelcoming. The basement stairs were steep, narrow, and had a broken railing.After one sleepless night, we worked through multiple VRBO representatives to contact the owner and were eventually allowed to leave early. While we were away at a softball tournament, the owner locked us out before we could retrieve our belongings. We rushed back, but the house was already locked. Calls and messages went unanswered until we called from a different phone number.Despite leaving after one night, we still paid for nearly the entire week plus cleaning and service fees. Take screenshots of everything. This is the second major issue I've had with VRBO, and it will likely be my last. I would not recommend this property or the platform. I cannot say enough to warn guests to stay away.

Relocating our son

We just needed a place for 2 nights to help our son find a place in a new city for his 1st job out of college. It's a quiet house in a very quiet neighborhood with very comfortable beds. Easy checkin!

Ovenight in Overland Park

Nice place. Killed big spider in upstairs bathroom. Beds mattresses could be more comfortable. Cost of property is good but fees make it too expensive. Nice place. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Horrible experience with Host

We arrived at the property only to find another person inside. It had been double booked. When I reached out to the host I found no phone number in any of the messages. I sent some messages and was not contacted immediately. Once I found the phone number I had to call him. He immediately blamed VRBO and said I needed to contact them for a refund he couldnt do anything. He was not remorseful at all. He offered to send us to another home for the night. We arrived at the other home which was not the greatest but we needed a place to stay since we drove from Houston. I called VRBO customer service and told them what he said that were very nice and called the host to let him know HE needed to issue the refund and said the owner would accommodate us only to find that while he was lying to customer service as he was texting me stating he would charge me for one night. Unacceptable, since it was not my mistake. He said he needed to charge for a cleaning fee! Again not very understanding and not trying to remedy the situation. We ended up having to book a hotel that was 30 minutes away because everything else was booked nearby since we were in town for a large softball tournament. The people that were double booked in the home mentioned that we dodged a bullet as the home was not great. I will never book with this host again. Beware as his properties aren't what they seem and he lacks any kind of customer service skills. The VRBO customer service team were great though.

Kimberly Really sorry for your experience. I did try to remedy the situation by offering you an alternative property but you wanted it for free and I had to pay my cleaners at least. I tried to explain that VRBO caused this double-booking situation and their customer support wasn't accurate as well giving you conflicting information but you wouldn't listen. Anyway multiple options were offered which were rejected by you.

This rental was one of my biggest disappointments. I had another unit in the KC area booked that canceled the day before our arrival due to storm damage. So I quickly booked this rental based on the decent reviews. I was misled by the overall rating of the property and should've read the reviews more closely.First off the listing says newly renovated, however, the renovation that was done, lacked details and I feel was done some time ago. Tiles have large gaps in between. The sink in the bathroom is very worn, walls are very beat up for a newly remodeled unit. Curtains in the basement had a half dollar burn hole in them. There were weeds growing up around basement windows. Decorations are mostly older and very worn. The cleanliness was questionable in my opinion. There was a large cobweb above a picture in the dining room, the showers certainly were not sparkling, and I noted a lot of dirt and dust in the tracks of the closet. Cleanliness is HUGE to me as I rent a place so these details were uncomfortable.The neglect of the unit continued to the outside. It just looked like someone didn't care to really invest in the property. From the moment we pulled up until the moment we walked through the unit, the entire unit felt neglected and the cleanliness was questionable.One thing I absolutely loved about the property was that there were no check out checklists. We were to lock up the place and leave when we were ready to check out.

Comfortable place to stay

We enjoyed our time there, the owner was always in communication and very friendly. The property was very clean and comfortable. The furniture was a bit basic, but we didn't spend a ton of time there, so it wasn't bad. The neighborhood felt safe, but there is a lot of people. We only had one vehicle and the driveway is long, enough room for probably three vehicle. The neighbors were having a party the night we got there and the street was filled on both sides. That was the case all four days we were there, but it wasn't a negative aspect. Overall, it's a great place to stay.

Great location

This VRBO was the perfect location for our stay in the KC area. It was also very affordable. The bedding could definitely use an upgrade, as well as the twin beds, but overall, for what we needed and the price, this was sufficient.

3BR/ 2BA described but disappointing

Finishings were either cheap or outdated. Arrived at night to instructions to enter between houses with nothing lighting the path or door way. Bedroom with twin beds was on the ground floor and has a window that did not lock. Master was in the basement. Basement was cold, top floor was hot. No tv in bedroom 2 or 3. Average accommodations at best.

Nice and Clean

If you're looking for a nice and clean place to stay I would recommend this booking. Only downside I would say are thin walls and floors. If you're sleeping downstairs you can hear if someone is above you.
