The throw pillows did have mildew, it's a hazard of the climate. They have all been replaced. We're sorry we weren't able to change them before your arrival...but glad you were able to enjoy the amazing view!

I apologize for the difficulties with the internet and the dryer especially, we've since had that repaired so there's a working set of laundry machines in the unit again. We're a bit confused by the toilet paper situation, though... we responded to you via both email and phone call the day of your request, and one of our cleaners stopped by to leave more toilet paper the day after. I'm not quite sure what happened there, but we apologize for any confusion. Safe travels and happy holidays!

We try very hard to be accurate and thorough in our description and to provide current and accurate pictures, so it's distressing to see this comfy oceanfront apartment down-rated for things that are very clearly described in advance. The lanai has amazing oceanfront views, and as pictured, it's not a very large lanai and is furnished with two chairs and a little table you can put your drinks on. Since the property sleeps two people (or two plus a child), that seems appropriate furniture for the space and its occupants. It's clearly and accurately pictured. The first paragraph of the description specifies "coin operated laundry room in the next building," so that shouldn't really come as a surprise that guests do their laundry in the coin operated laundry machines in the next building. The amenities list says "Island breeze cooled - No AC" because there is no air-conditioning at Sealodge...nor, in fact, at most places on Kauai. When staying oceanfront, the tradewinds keep the air circulating and the temperature pleasant and most guests are perfectly comfortable. For those who want more air-circulation, floor fans are provided. And as pictured, there is an accordion door that can be closed to divide the bedroom from the living room. It's nice, you can open the whole place up for more light and better airflow. Not sure what the guest means about not being allowed to use the garbage disposal. Guests are welcome to use the disposal...we just request that bulky items like shrimp shells or fruit rinds not be put in the disposal, since the condo plumbing is not as robust as you may be accustomed to at home. There is a hot pad and oven mitt set in the drawer, as well as tea towels, and a sponge under the sink. While most food items are removed between guests, for reasons of hygiene and safety, cooking oil and spices are not removed, nor are any disposables like baggies or tin foil. Most guests simply don't cook much, so those type of items aren't in big demand, or are purchased in small quantities and they take the extra home (or give it to the neighbors). We'll certainly talk to the cleaners about the linen service sheets and towels they provide, and get them to wash the cushion covers, those are easily rectified and we're happy to do so! The carpet is nearly new and has been cleaned recently, but we'll check that as well to see if it needs it again.
