Maarten was the perfect host. How wonderful to stay in a working windmill over 100 years old. Amenities were abundant and the scenic country side was breathtaking. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It was beyond our expectations. And I encourage anyone who is traveling to Amsterdam to stay here bc it’s not that far by train Excellent hospitality and great communication.

Staying in this windmill is a unique experience. Built in 1884 it has a tasteful mixture of old and new, featuring steep stairs. The windmill is in a country side location providing peace, and quiet. We enjoyed walking to town. This is a memorable adventure, so glad we had it! Thank you Maarten for being a perfect host.

What an idyllic setting to soak in the Netherlands. It is a great home base and we wish we would have stayed longer. An amazing experience while taking in a quaint piece of the past. Thankful for all the attention to detail and the old "farm house" feel with modern upgrades. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and I would gladly book again if our family was to return to the Netherlands.

A wonderful way to spend several days, a unique adventure. Away from a small town, but still has many options for passing time. Windmill is fascinating inside and out-, and surrounding land is working fields. Highly recommend!

A once in a lifetime experience! The windmill had everything we needed for a comfortable and beautiful stay in the countryside. We enjoyed biking to town, preparing meals in the kitchen while watching swans float by, and looking through the great book collection. We learned a lot about Mondrian and windmills! The beds were especially comfortable. And of course the friendly sheep next door were a delight!

What an Amazing Stay!

Highly recommend!! Maartan is a fantastic host and the mill is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The connection with Mondrian was amazing and the whole village was outstanding. Wonderful stay!!

Great Country Stay

The Windmill was a fantastic and unique stay. After a few days in Paris our family loved coming to the calmness of the wide open country and the windmill was a very cool experience. Maarten was always available to answer any questions and kept a phenomenal house.

Great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the mill. Maarten is an outstanding host. He answered all of our questions promptly and made us feel very welcome. The property itself is great. We enjoyed the historic mill, the rural setting, the nearby town and easy rail access to Amsterdam. We will definitely try to stay here again if we return to the area.

Amazing experience

We only were able to stay for a single evening, but it was an experience we will not forget. The place is beautiful and how often do you get to stay in a windmill? Maarteen is incredibly helpful and was a welcoming host. We are incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to visit this unique accommodation.

Dreams can come true

If you’ve ever dreamed of staying in a windmill surrounded by farm fields with sheep/goats/cows and more this is the place! Close to a wonderful town with great pre made food from gourmet type shops and restaurants, so eat out or bring food back and watch sunset at the windmill at the outdoor table as we did. Thatched roof, well appointed and cozy inside - we will hopefully be back!
