Brookshire Cottage est un luxueux bungalow de 100 ans entiĂšrement rĂ©novĂ© situĂ© sur l’üle du Mont DĂ©sert Ă  Bass Harbor.

La propriĂ©tĂ© est une maison de 3 chambres Ă  coucher avec Suite principale de luxe avec baignoire, baignoire sur pattes et douche en verre sans soudure. Parfait pour se dĂ©tendre aprĂšs une randonnĂ©e dans les sentiers du parc ou en kayak dans l'ocĂ©an ou les lacs. La cuisine est entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e pour cuisiner pour un grand groupe! Évier de la ferme et table Ă  l'intĂ©rieur et Ă  l'extĂ©rieur pour les repas de famille! Foyer, gril Ă  gaz et cuiseur Ă  homard disponibles! La propriĂ©tĂ© est chien amical pour les chiens 45 lbs et moins! Internet, Smart TV dans toutes les chambres et dans le salon. TĂ©lĂ©vision par cĂąble Ă©galement pour suivre le temps et vos nouvelles ou sports. La maison dispose Ă©galement de la climatisation pour rester au frais cet Ă©tĂ©. Si vous louez Ă  l'automne, nous avons une cuisiniĂšre Ă  gaz pour garder au chaud. La propriĂ©tĂ© est en haut de la rue du phare de Bass Harbor. Terminal de ferry et sentiers de randonnĂ©e Ă  seulement 5 minutes! Le bus passe devant la maison tous les jours si vous avez besoin de transport dans le parc! SituĂ© sur le cĂŽtĂ© calme de l'Ăźle mais Ă  seulement quelques minutes en voiture de Bar Harbor. Beaucoup de bons restaurants et magasins de notre cĂŽtĂ© de l'Ăźle aussi. DĂ©corĂ© avec un thĂšme classique. La maison vient d'ĂȘtre terminĂ©e et entiĂšrement redĂ©corĂ©e. Il y a deux chambres sĂ©parĂ©es avec des lits queen et une autre chambre avec lits superposĂ©s qui a trois lits simples.

Il y a une autre maison d'hÎtes à l'arriÚre qui est louée séparément de la maison principale.

Check in was very easy. The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for us. We didn’t realize until the second day that the Bass Harbor Head lighthouse was right down the road. We had to check it out the morning we checked out. Checking out was also easy.

This quaint cottage was charming and well-appointed. It was cozy and we liked the various spaces to read and eat.While at the corner of two roads, it was very quiet and peaceful, with plenty of parking. The cottage works well for people who are close. We stayed with our two adult children and their spouses. We did not realize that the second half bath is attached to one of the two upstairs bedrooms, so one couple could not access it without entering their sibling’s bedroom. Stairs are steep to go down to the lovely first floor full bath, and that bath is not sound-proof to the adjoining first floor BR which made our kids hesitant to use it during the night.We had one issue that the owner tried to address but it’s hard to fix. Yellow jackets were getting into one of the upstairs bedrooms. We found many dead on the floor and under the bed when we arrived and a few still alive and more came in at night. We used the room-hesitantly- the first night before knowing more came inside. The second night the couple used the comfortable day bed in the living room. The owner was very responsive and graciously generous about arriving early (it was raining and we asked if we could come a tad early.)

The location on the “quiet side” was great. There’s a corner store within walking distance. The nearby town of Southwest Harbor has a few shops and restaurants. Definitely recommend Beal’s Lobster Pier for an unforgettable experience. Echo Lake is a short drive away, and a great place for a swim. The kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of towels, pillows, etc. The house was cozy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay! The property had everything we needed and more. Everything felt like new and was very clean. The outdoor seating area was especially lovely and perfect for relaxing. A few items were not operational, but they did not impact our stay at all. Overall, a great experience – we would happily stay here again.

Property is cute and welcomes dogs. However, host has a LOT of rules and is not the easiest to get in touch with pre-stay. We altered our stay by one night and it was a trial dealing with both VRBO and the host to get a refund. We had to contact Robin multiple times for the core portion of the refund (finally got a response when I asked VRBO to intervene). I couldn't get a refund for the taxes until after the stay, which had to be issued by VRBO. During the stay, Robin did reach out to confirm if everything was going well. Frankly given the inconvenience around getting in touch, payment processing, and all the clean up rules, I think the cost was steep (unless you are truly filling up the house and have 6 guests). I will probably just stay in a hotel next time.

Cozy Cottage

This cozy cottage was a great home base for all of our adventuring on the island. We really liked being on the “quieter” side but not a far drive from everywhere else. Kitchen was well stocked and home had virtually everything we needed. Beds were comfy and the house was very clean and nicely decorated. We had 3 generations staying in our group, and the rooms/setup was great for us. One upstairs room had 3 twin beds, so it was perfect for our teens to have their own beds and space, the other upstairs room for parents. Grandparents in the main floor bedroom attached to full bathroom. We did have to fold up a few rugs due to trip hazard for grandparents, but was easy to do. Wish the checkout time was a little later than 10 am for some extra time with the checkout tasks and packing up.

Charming Maine getaway

I have always wanted to visit this part of the US and it was everything that I hoped it would be. This property has been thoughtfully and lovingly decorated and stocked with everything you would need. Communication with the owner was quick and appreciated. If you are seeking to stay outside of the touristy Bar Harbor yet close to all options, this location is perfect.

Loved the decor!

Two sisters and one friend stayed at this lovely cottage while exploring Acadia! Place was decorated with a loving touch and everything needed for comfort and enjoyment. Communication with the owner was easy! The nearby town was a plus! Would definitely stay here again!

We had a fantastic fall weekend. The host was gracious and gave us perfect advice for local dining and hiking. The cottage is well appointed with everything you could need. Charming decor. True New England!

Traveled to Maine with my children and friends! Started vacationing in Maine 20 years ago. Came to Southwest Harbor to sail! Best friends have a large Hinckley sailboat. Maine is the best place for sailing. My favorite spot on the Island is Bass Harbor. Best sunsets on the island. Great access to the ocean and harbor. Being on the end of the Mount Desert Island is truly a magical experience.
