One of the things we love about our location is being close enough to downtown to enjoy everything the city has to offer, while still having a comfortable place to come back to and unwind. We had a great family weekend here! The house worked out perfectly to enjoy time together, swimming in the pool, hot tubbing, playing games, and attending a family wedding! The house and kitchen were well stocked with anything we needed and they checked to make sure that we were all set. We would highly recommend staying here!

We used this place for a golf centered bachelor party with a relatively large group. It was a perfect size and provided lots of entertainment both inside and out. The pool was much bigger than we expected and all of the cooking amenities gave us lots of options for dinner. The neighbors house is a bit close so be mindful of loud noises at night. That said, there was lots of room for us to have fun inside! It’s a great spot for large groups, especially if you have kids or people that love to swim. Thanks for a great spot for a fun weekend!

Thank you, Stephen! We really appreciate you choosing Tranquil Vista for your bachelor weekend! With so many great golf courses in and around Dorr, we love welcoming groups who come to the area for golf trips. We've always felt our home is a great fit for a day on the course followed by an evening of grilling, relaxing in the hot tub, and enjoying time together. We also appreciate you mentioning the nearby neighbors. We're fortunate to be part of a peaceful neighborhood, and we want our guests to enjoy themselves while being respectful of those around us. There's certainly plenty of room to have fun without turning it into a loud party! Thanks so much for being wonderful guests. We'd love to welcome you back anytime!

What a GREAT find!!! We have a BIG family with Littles and there was something for everyone!! It had rained a few days prior to and during our arrival, so the wood was too wet for us to be able to enjoy the pizza oven or have a bonfire. Can't comment on the pool (it was October after all) and the Hot Tub (we had Every intention, but time got away from us). Fun games for the kids to play inside and outside. My only "complaint" is the stove and island are NOT meant for a 5'1" Momma... Needed to be on my tippy toes!! Lol!! The Grandkids thought it was funny though!! Just another core memory to add!!! Everyone had their own bed and slept quite well!!! Robb and Fawna were very communicative and helpful. We had a great time and would HIGHLY recommend their home!!!

He had 7 adults and 7 kids and fit in the house perfectly. All the kids slept in the bunk room. The kitchen was stocked with sharp knives and every appliance you could think of. The heated pool was great. The basement was a bit chilly with the air so but they had extra blankets so it worked out just fine. But if you want to keep the main level at 70 or below, you'll want warm jammies for the basement. The double deck was great for eating on while the kids swam. Overall, 5 star all around!

The house was very well appointed, if I could give it more stars we would have. The check in went very smoothly. The kitchen had every little thing you could possibly hope for. The pool/hot tub was amazing! The neighborhood setting was very peaceful. I would have stayed a month if we could have. So many games, both indoor and outdoor, the pool table, never a dull moment. Great house!

I stayed with a group of women (all in our 30s) for a long weekend. Communication was amazing- I received a phone call the day before our trip making sure we were good to go, a text once we arrived, and another phone call on the second day making sure we were enjoying our stay. Any text I sent was quickly responded to as well. The house was so organized, everything was labeled, and it was fully stocked with so many things you may need. We did not have any of our kids with us, but the home would have been great for families as it had so many baby items as well. It was centrally located to everywhere we went all weekend long.

Great Family Visit

We booked this property for family arriving from California and Arizona for a 90th birthday celebration of our matriarch. There were 8 adults and 7 kids that stayed at the property and they loved it from the start! Kids had so much fun with the toys, games, stuffies, bounce house in the garage and especially the pool. We had perfect weather for hours of pool time. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and pans plus. Used the pizza oven and had a blast with a production line of personal pizzas for everyone. We were able to get Mom up and down the few steps to the house even though she uses a walker. She loved watching all the fun and noise. The fireflies came up in the tall weeds around the yard at night and the kids were entranced! Very well supplied and serviced property. Fawna was proactive in checking in the first few days to make sure we had everything going well. We would definitely recommend this property.

Family time w/adult children & their families

Plenty of space for everyone... together or alone. Lots of kitchen appliances & gadgets. Quiet area. Pool & hot tub were much enjoyed. Extra refrigerator was great. All the thoughtful little things... bag of chips & jar of salsa, makings for s'mores, bottle of wine, treats/ toys/ bed/ bowls & 'baggies' for our pet, safety gate on stairs, plenty of bath & pool towels, checking in with us to make sure all was well... the list could go on. This was our first family mini vacation w/our kids as married adults, 3 grandchildren, & 1 pet. The home was very welcoming & homey. Thank you for all you put into making Tranquil Vista inviting, lived in, & loved!

Clean, spacious house in Grand Rapids area

Our family of four stayed in this clean, spacious house for three days during the last week of December 2020 for a quick change of scenery during the kids' winter break from school. The house is exactly as advertised. It is located in a small town outside of Grand Rapids. It is about a 10 to 15 minute drive to shops and restaurants in the south suburbs of Grand Rapids. The setting is quiet and peaceful. While we did not use the hot tub and the pool was not in season, those amenities would be awesome during the summer months. The amenities inside the house include a great pool table setup and cable tv in most of the rooms. The house is well-stocked with basic toiletries and plenty of cooking utensils, The house was spotlessly clean. It has an open floor plan on the main level and has lots of space for large groups. The owner is very communicative and kindly welcomed us to the house with a bottle of wine, soda, and chips and salsa. This house is an excellent option if you are visiting West Michigan.

Unexpected guest

So we found out the day before we went to the house that the “facilities manager” stays in the detached garage on the property. What they also did not tell us was that the detached garage was mere feet away from the pool that we spent much of our time in. His window and glass sliding door overlooked the pool. Yes we saw him come and go. We did not feel that our space was private. We also got noise warnings from the noise sensors on the outside of the house while we were IN the house. This was quite annoying since we got contacted by the manager about noise level. And then another call from an owner. They tried to assure us that everything was fine but after that we were all afraid to make too much noise whether in or out of the house. So 2 days in we already had received 2-3 texts and 2 phone calls. Not a way to relax for sure. We had planned on using the fire pit in the evenings but never did that for fear of more notifications on noise. The house itself was well stocked. My only complaint is that the kitchen was so full that there was no room for the food we brought. We ended up having to pile our food on the island and the counter which left it very cluttered. An empty pantry would have been nice. This home is in a neighborhood. You need to consider this before renting. They ask that quiet time starts at 9pm. We were out on the deck the first night listening to music after 9 and got a complaint from a neighbor. Not the best experience.

Nicole, we're sorry your experience wasn't 5-stars. Yes, our home is located in a residential neighborhood, but we've only received one other complaint in 5+ years and with over 100 rentals. Blasting music outdoors on a Monday night past quiet hours understandably disturbed the neighbors. Unfortunately, the NoiseAware sensors recommended by Airbnb malfunctioned afterward, which is why we initially contacted you. Once we realized it was a system issue, our property manager and owner felt the right thing to do was reach out directly, apologize, and assure you everything was fine. Guest communication is very important to us. We even assured you that you would still get a 5-star review as a guest since you mentioned your rating was a concern. The detached garage serves as a storage facility, apartment, and former workshop. The "facility manager" has no view of the pool from his apartment. His job is seasonal, and he is pretty much gone during the summer and fall. He only spends a substantial amount of time on the property in the winter. We clearly disclose this in the listing and reiterate it in the welcome email we send a week before check-in. We always strive to provide the perfect "home away from home" experience and have built an excellent track record with all of our guests. As hosts, we ensure transparency by doing our part and clearly outlining all rules in our listings, rental agreements, and welcome emails to prevent issues like this from happening.
