The view was exceptional. It was a very well supplied, clean and comfortable unit. We love that South Mission Beach location. Easy to get to the beach and bay. Garage parking was tight but manageable with open street parking right next to the unit and at the jetty. Communication was excellent.

This property has a great location and view of the beach. In our opinion it is definitely not “luxury.” We had rented the penthouse for 5 nights but could barely tolerate being there for 2 nights. Be prepared to carry your things up 2 flights of stairs, single garage parking is very tight for a midsize suv and there is no air conditioning. We encountered many issues with the current state of the property:Furniture in the home is different than advertisedPatio table & chairs were rusted & dangerous to useLinens & bath towels are torn or had holes in themMattresses were disgusting with stainingWindow screens were dirty, torn, bent or missingLiving room sofa & rugs were soiledFloors throughout were visibly dirty & not moppedThere is a distinct smell of mildew or mustiness Kitchen knife set had rust on themWhile the host was responsive but dismissive of our concerns, we feel that this rental could use some improvements.

Great location that’s right on the beach and within a short distance of all the popular places around San Diego. Just one thing to make note of, especially if you’re coming with young kids: the condo/neighbor is directly in the crosshairs of departing airport traffic so hearing rumbling jets every couple of minutes should be expected. The good news is that it typically quiets down at night and you get used to it pretty quickly. Outside of this, I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in visiting San Diego!

We love the views and location of this apartment. It is exactly in front of Pacific Surf School's children's program and we love watching all the volleyball from the high deck. It is less noisy since it is farther from Belmont Park but an easy bike or walk to Belmont as well as our favorite coffee shop, the Blue Palm. We have stayed in this apartment twice.

I don’t think there’s a better location on Mission Beach than this house. Watching all the volleyball action right outside the window was incredibly entertaining. We would return.

We enjoyed our week at this property. Some appliances need replacing-the dishwasher does not clean the dishes and the oven temp only show partially, making it a difficult guessing game. Beds are very comfortable. Maurice was very helpful and communication was awesome.

Meet The Owner of San Diego Beach King

Maurice Maio, a long time San Diego resident and well known successful businessman, started the San Diego Beach King Vacation Rental company in 2000. His first property was the Sleek Retreat purchased in 2000 which is the recipient of many awards including "House of the Year" and "HGTV House Hunter's On Vacation" series.

Mr. Maio took over the family plumbing, heating & air business at age 19 after his losing his father. Starting with 1 truck and no trades knowledge, the company grew to over 50 in less than 5 years and was modeled throughout the world thru the Maio Success System. Mr. Maio developed many innovated business practices and has hosted over 1200 seminars worldwide. He sold his companies to a wall street firm and began his vacation rental business.

Since it's inception, The San Diego Beach King has offered it's clients first class service at reasonable rental rates. Each property is carefully maintained and decorated with style. The Maio team runs smoothly and you'll see him smiling visiting the properties often. He loves Mission Beach, knows where to eat, where to rent, where to surf. Your vacation is his vacation and you'll see it when renting one of his properties that he owns or manages.
