The home was billed as a luxury rental when there were in fact deferred maintenance problems; some we had to fix ourselves. The VRBO rep dragged us along for 4months after I respectfully shared our concerns and the major inconveniences that we experienced during our vacation week. Three toilets didn't flush; had to fix myself. Bedroom ceiling actively leaked - ceilings in several rooms had water staining. Screen door torn and hanging. On a basic level, the prep cleaning was not done properly for our arrival which of course they charged a hefty upfront fee. The wall paper was peeling and bathrooms had clear and visible mildew and mold. There was an active ceiling leak in bedroom which dripped all week! The back cottage was mildewed and had a profound odor. Given the state of the home, we requested a small refund. The VBRO rep Dylan agreed the state of the home indicated a refund.He assured me he would discus with supervisor, and then he ghosted us. I e-mailed and texted him on the order of 20 times. No response. While the location was ideal, the home had major problems sadly. I refrained from leaving this review, hoping VRBO would act in good faith. Enough time has passed now that itâs clear they hoped I would just drop it. This home was so not worth the rental cost.
