This trip felt like we were staying with family. Lovely, quiet neighborhood, but still close to the beach, shopping, restaurants, and casinos. The open layout includes a nice sunroom off the front bedroom, making for an ideal setup to get work done while the family relaxed. All in all, it was a pleasant stay.
I never SAW the host/hostess. She said key would be outside in a keybox by the front door. upon arrival, mailbox was poorly numbered to find the street address. Vrbo sent me a prior email saying key was on kitchen counter so NO key and front door locked. check-in was 4 pm. I waited until 430 and still no one showed up. i asked in previous emails for a contact phone number and was told we could talk by emails. Well, i dont carry my computer in vehicle. we walked around property and found back door unlocked. My daughter's bf unlocked front door and upon walk through, found property UNSAFE to stay in for children/adults. yes kitchen and living room were clean but what was found on inspection was totally UNSAT. ok, 100 yr old cottage, no problem to me, i'm a 71 yr old disabled vet but i wouldn't allow my pets to stay here. Emails stated that it was cleaned for our stay, WHERE ??? I had guests from indiana with me and expected more with child from Huntsville, Al. 1. the first large bedroom had been slept in, the bed covers were tossed like a wrestling match happened. 2. A partial tube of tooth paste was open on the only bathroom sink. 3. The hot water heater closet, (in the bathroom) door was opened by me, the floor was covered in what appeared to be black mold and the tank itself was rusted horribly around the bottom.4. The laundry room had 5-6 5gallon paint buckets in there not secured outside. An open container of either bleach or paint thinner was also on the floor with paint
It was a well designed little house. Well length of our original stay. We had to leave,
but decorated. Unfortunately, due to my health issues, we were not able to stay the full length of our original
Enjoyed our night at the Cozy Cottage. House was clean and comfortable, perfect for our family. Loved sitting on the screened in front porch, also was able to enjoy a firework show from the front walk way. Very close to the beach! Will book again if we are going through Biloxi!!!
The house was clean and very comfy my kids and I loved it. A few minute drive to the beach and much more. Communication with the owner was wonderful and check in check out was very easy. We canât wait to come back!!!!!!
The fridge/freezer wasnât working and the pool was unusable but overall the house was absolutely perfect. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space as well as plenty of common area to be together! With a new fridge and a clean pool I would definitely book again.
You see these pretty pictures. THEY ARE A LIE! The pool is green and has bugs and leaves all in it. There are bug parts all over the kitchen. 3 beds only have pads not real mattresses. The frig does not work. If you get seasick do not sit on the toilet. Check the front door threshold it has screws backing out. Multiple blinds and messed up. Multiple curtains missing. Save yourself the pain I have felt for renting this place for my family.
The neighborhood is very sketchy. Small run down apartments back up to it. The bedding is old and needs to be replaced. Also, the couch was disgusting. The AC shouldâve been turned on before we got there, so it could be cooled off. The front room had no ventilation from the AC. There were mice droppings in the cabinets. I contacted the owner after reserving it saying I wanted to cancel and he would not even refund half of my money. VRBO would not help. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt and see what the property was like in person. We stayed long enough to make phone calls to hotels to try and find rooms for 8 people. $1200 later, we found rooms in Biloxi. Please donât rent this property. Itâs really as bad as the pictures. To the ownerâŠlower your price. Call an exterminator. Update your bedding and buy a new couch.
This property is extremely overpriced. The pool was dirty. The yard was unkempt with garbage in it and grassy areas to my mid calf. The back door was apparently blown open by the wind and tore the door jam offâ which was put in using penny nails instead of the correct kind. It looked like someone tried to break In but the owner assured us that didnât happen because if they wanted to they could break in easily and wouldnât have left it partially broken. That did not make us feel any safer. The house is obviously neglected with floor boards that are rotten. The toilet rocks like a rocking chair. The couch and chairs and bedding were all stained and off putting. We did not end up staying there as none of us could feel comfortable or safe. We were also told to watch the back door because it may flood back there. That is just unacceptable.
A person came to fix the back door but all she did was bang it down with a screwdriverâ I have pictures to show that it was absolutely not secure.
This house has potential but needs some love and as of right now it is extremely over priced.
The homeowner had turned air conditioners on for us before we arrived at the property. We arrived late. The property was an older home, but it was clean and homey. The property was within 10 - 15 minutes away from most things. A neighbor and I both took our grandchild for the week, and they had a great time. Took advantage of the pool one evening.
This lovely old house was just what we needed for our stay in Gulfport. Plenty of sleeping areas, nice layout with the 5 kids we had on our trip we all had plenty of room to relax and play when wanted. The huge pool in the back yard was perfect for when we werenât at the beach swimming. Great location close to the beach and amenities. We enjoyed our week getaway with the cozy cottage.
This is the perfect little cottage to stay in. My husband and I just moved to Gulfport and needed a temporary house to stay in until we could move into our new house. The owners were great to work with and the cottage was perfect for our needs.
