Birthday Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at Willow Tree Cottage on Keuka Lake. Our trip could not have been easier or smoother. The property is terrific. It’s right on the water, completely furnished and updated with every conceivable utensil and appliance. It was a great stay in a welcoming, pleasant comfortable home. Many thanks to the Jess and Buck, it was terrific and we hope to return. One word of caution, the 50 steps up and down to the cottage are not for the faint of heart. They are well constructed but very steep. If you have difficulty with stairs this location will not work for you.

Our stay

The property was very nice and the lake was awesome. We were not given the code to get in the front door and I had to call the property manager’s maintenance person to get give us the code. Halfway through our stay, the code failed, prompting another call to the property manager. It all worked out OK but a hassle nonetheless. The dock was very wobbly and not safe from our perspective.

Thank you for your review, Eric. We apologize for the inconveniences your encountered with the keyless entry pad. We are looking into this issue and, in the meantime have installed a lock box with a physical key. Our team reached out prior to your stay to inform your group that the dock was in need of repair. We sincerely apologize that it was not in the best condition for your stay. A vendor has since made the necessary fix and the dock is now secure and safe for use. We are happy to hear that overall you enjoyed the property and the water. We hope you'll stay with us again soon!

Too many mice and no understanding from management

While the property is nice and actually pretty clean…they have a mouse problem. We were a group of women, 50ish, away for a girls weekend…an escape. So the last thing we wanted was to deal with mice running across the living room while we’re trying to relax and watch a movie. Started first night, no answers to emergency number. I left a message. They came during the day and set sticky traps and never told us. So of course as moms, we thought- imagine walking in with kids and walking in to having two mice squealing in the kitchen. We had to remove it. Then the next day there were more trapped in the living room. Thankfully it was before 5 so someone answered the phone. Next night we walk in from a long day out. I called the number, they said it wasn’t an emergency and suggested we move the squealing mice ( two trapped again) outside. So using the dustpan I scooped them up and out and tried not to think about it again. Then while trying to watch a movie…another one scurries under the couch. Another scoop to outside while the poor thing was still alive and stuck to the trap. I feel we should get a partial refund for not being able to enjoy a relaxing night in the living room during our entire stay.

Getaway at Willow Tree Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at Willow Tree Cottage. Home was very clean and had everything we needed. Fishing off the dock was a highlight, we caught bass, pike, perch and sunfish. Keuka Lake is so beautiful and this cottage has views that are second to none.

amazing lake

The cottage is small and cozy, but definitely enough room for 6 people. The outdoor space really makes it work. The views of the lake are fantastic. Be aware that the steps from the street feel a bit precarious, and you'll want to make as few trips as possible for your stuff. Also the dock is lovely but a bit wobbly. But the lake is gorgeous and perfect for swimming, so it's totally worth a little wobble!

Thank you for your review, Janet! We're happy to hear that the house was spacious enough for you and your guests and that you enjoyed the views. We apologize for the wobble with the seasonal dock. We will share this feedback with the homeowner. We hope you'll return to the Finger Lakes soon!
