Poipu Crater Resort situé au milieu d'un paysage luxuriant dans un ancien cratère volcanique. Cette propriété en copropriété en duplex d’inspiration polynésienne de 30 unités est nichée au milieu d’un feuillage tropical parfumé et de bananiers exotiques. Les installations du complexe incluent tennis, paddle-tennis, piscine, sauna, ping-pong et barbecue. Le Poipu Crater Resort se trouve à seulement 4 pâtés de maisons de la plage de Poipu à l'ouest et de la plage "Shipwreck" à l'est.

Sunsets and sea turtles

Enjoyed our stay! Loved the screened in porch for meals. Enjoyed sunset every evening at Po'ipu beach park a 5 minute walk. Great hike on the Heritage Trail to Secret Beach. We did day trips to Eleele and Hanapepe, Salt Beach Waimea and Kekaha beach. All in all a fantastic stay. Easy check-in and spacious house. Quiet neighborhood.

Hidden Gem

Poipu crater was so magnificent, walking distance to the pool and beach. Condo was a little out dated, but hey you’re in Kaua’i what more could you need! The condo was perfect for 2 couples! Or even for a family. Was a great place to spend our vacation. The only negative thing was that the HOA president and his wife are very rude, accusatory, and snooty.

Clean, well equipped in a beautiful spot

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this unit for visiting family. The unit was spotless and well equipped, management company was easy to deal with, friendly, professional. A few repairs could be made but in general very good for the price. Decor is basic but the linens are very nice, fridge spotless, felt good. One issue was the key locker for opening the front door - I found it really tricky and difficult. Fortunately it was daylight when I first tried to open it - would have been very difficult at night because it's very dark at the Crater.

Property improvements

Overall the property was pretty good. However there were a few things that need to be fixed. Electrical switches didn’t always work. Overhead fans would stop and have to be manually started. Screen doors on both sliders need to be replaced. Cabinet and closet doors don’t close. Kitchen was good except it would be nice to have another set of dishes. Correll for example. We did have a good time and the location is awesome.

Total Dump

Wouldn’t recommend this unit for anything or anyone. Total dump. Clean? Sure but only because it’s not an adobe hut. Everything is old and in obvious disrepair. Unit is not cared for by any one except the cleaning staff. Made the owner money and it’s never been reinvested in. Old and uncomfortable everything. Mattress doesn’t sag, but definitely doesn’t give much cushion either. It’s a great location and Kauai is always fun, but there’s nothing about the unit that is recommended. Roof doesn’t leak and there are beds and running water. No bed bugs and carpets are fine. Dishes are fine. Fans in each room that work...so it’s live able but not a nice place in any real sense of the term. Highly recommend something else.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this condo is great. The condo itself is very, very dated. The living room furniture was incredibly uncomfortable. For evenings in or rainy days spent at the condo, we weren't very comfortable. The king bed upstairs was at least decent. Both sets of lanai vertical blinds had multiple missing pieces - so there didn't feel like we had much for privacy, especially in the evenings. There seemed to be a lot of 3 way switches throughout the condo - would be helpful to label those for guests. Even though there was no AC, windows open and fans going kept the condo very comfortable.

But it didn't ruin our enjoyment of this location. Below the amenities were awesome. The property is a bit dated.

Parking was close!!!!

I was halfway through a long, detailed, tongue in cheek review of this place but I decided that was too mean and not worth my effort. So here’s this- You know that vacation place that has either a) been in the family for years or b) picked up as a bargain by a rental landlord and either way nobody wants to invest in it, just enjoy the rentals coming in? That’s this place. Short of short-term repairs, I don’t think this place has had any loving attention since the Brady Bunch visited Hawaii. It’s sad, actually, because it has potential. It was available on relatively short notice. Parking was close. See? Not a negative review. But I wouldn’t rent this again.

Perfect for our needs

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family had to unexpectedly extend our time in Kauai after one member was hospitalized. This was the only unit I could find available (this was the week leading up to Memorial Day weekend and everything was booked). I spoke to Jonathan at Ocean Realty and he immediately helped me book the property both initially, and also later helped me extend the stay when we realized we needed more time. The property was immaculately clean when we entered and perfectly suited my family in terms of beds, bathrooms, having the washer/dryer, etc. We also really enjoyed the lanai and the neighborhood, which is walkable to Poipu Beach. The unit itself is in Poipu Crater, which was so quiet and peaceful--appreciated given the circumstances that necessitated us being there. We were very thankful to have this property to stay in, as well as to have Jonathan at Ocean Realty assist use with booking it.

Fantastic vacation experience

We loved the covered porch and ate our meals out there while enjoying the peaceful view. The kids liked the pool near by. We were a 10 minute walk to the beach to see sunset every night! I really appreciated the communication and instructions given to us were easy to follow. They even sent emails letting us know what activities were happening in our vicinity. My only complaint would be more hooks/towel holders in the bathroomz

Property manager was great to work with. Just check to make sure they’re planes upgrades are done before renting. Nice location. Decent water pressure.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this caused you, but on the bright side the unit will be in much better condition after the work is completed. Work is scheduled for between guest stays. We have also hired a new cleaning company to care for the housekeeping.
