Cozy Cottage by the Sea and Carmel Beach.
No smoking, no pets, no childen under 10.
Two King bedrooms and two full baths. Baths with tub/shower combos with glass doors.
Guest bath is in hallway and has very large shower. Master bath is small (please note).
Nicely appointed living room, dining room, small kitchen and small TV room that sits 4. Upholstered chairs throughout. Wood floors in main areas and carpet in bedrooms. Gas grill outside off kitchen. Washer and dryer in Master.
Private deck in back for sunning with two loungers and abundant seating.
Private walled patio and full gardens in front with chairs and tables.
1500 sq ft.
Has cable TV, and internet recently added at guest request. Cell reception is good
Driveway holds one car. Second car can park in front of gate by mailbox.
Kitchen is small but efficient, has microwave, dishwasher. coffee maker, glass-top stove, no ice maker in refrigerator (buy bag at store). Some spices and basic cooking supplies. All utensils, crockery, and kitchen implements should be in drawers and cupboards.
Please put garbage wheelie bin out on street on Thursday night if full (Fri morn pickup)
Only a few blocks to main shops and restaurants of Carmel!!!
Gardener comes every other Thursday to attend to the gardens; they will not bother you, but be aware that they enter the property unannounced.

Fabulous Location - just roll out of bed and walk to the beach in a few minutes. Great neighborhood - peaceful, serene, convenient. Home sparkling clean, has all the essentials and front and back areas to rest, lounge and read. Host was highly responsive, accommodating and very helpful! Love property!!

This place is an absolute gem and exactly what we were looking for. Quiet neighborhood, easy access to beaches, well appointed, clean, great towels! Only issue was our Google navigation finding the place! Once we got it figured out it was easy. The rating mentioned a winery stay, this is not a winery, not on a winery property, so no idea what that was about.Would come back in a heartbeat!

One of the BEST VRBO properties ever.

Exactly as advertised, JD’s home was cozy, comfortable, very clean, very complete. Great location in Carmel, far enough away from the hustle of the village and Hiway 1 so that we had no outside disturbance. Close enough to the beach for strolls. We loved our stay!

A terrific place in Carmel

The house was a in a great location--just a short walk to the beach. Landscaping around the house was well maintained and was lovely. The house was very comfortable, with a gas fireplace being a nice touch. All in all a nice spot to stay while we were visiting the area.

Perfect Carmel Cottage

We couldn’t have found a better place to stay in much loved Carmel than this perfectly charming cottage! Super location 2 blocks up from the Carmel Beach, immaculately clean, lovely ‘cottage’ furnishings, well maintained, and with all the comforts of home. Beautifully landscaped front and back patios, plus gated parking provide a cozy private feeling. We loved it and will be back!

Cozy Cottage — Awesome Location

Diane's house is super comfortable and surrounded by flowers. It's a quiet and peaceful place located in a lovely little neighborhood, just a few blocks from two beaches. Downtown Carmel is within walking distance, or an easy 5-minute drive. We loved our stay!

Cozy, tidy, and comfortable cottage in Carmel with great location

Clean & comfortable lodging with plenty of room for 2-4 people. Property is well maintained inside & out. Ideal location for morning or evening walks along Scenic Drive with splendid ocean views. Walking to downtown Carmel requires only 20 to 25 minutes. We had a relaxing & enjoyable stay & plan to return if available.

Charming cottage in a quiet neighborhood in Carmel

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at this cottage. It has plenty of room with two bedrooms and two baths, small kitchen & dining room, living room & sunroom. Nicely furnished in quaint cottage style. Ideal location, with proximity to the ocean (Scenic Drive) and a short walk into town. Would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing sojourn in Carmel.

Really nice house on Carmel Point!

My husband and I had a great time - it’s a cute and very comfortable house to stay in and it’s really quiet. We could walk to Scenic Drive and take walks by the water. The front garden is really beautiful and my favorite place was the den in the front of the house with a large window that looks out to the trees. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you would need. The next time we come to Carmel this would be our number one choice to stay. The hosts are very nice and quick to respond.

Charming and Comfortable Cottage

My husband and I stayed two weeks in this lovely cottage. It is in a quiet neighborhood, easy walk to two beaches and the very beautiful Scenic Drive which we used to walk to town one day. Our weather wasn't great but the cottage combined with the shops, restaurants and easy access to the highway meant we were not bored. Who needs golf every day anyway? The kitchen is well stocked as are the bathrooms. JD made it easy to check in and we had no problem with garbage or trash as the instructions were very precise. Looking forward to another stay!

Lovely house in perfect Carmel Point location

Lovely, well-furnished, clean cottage in quiet Carmel Point neighborhood 2 minute walk to beautiful main Carmel beach. One of the nicest, most relaxing houses and neighborhoods we’ve rented in ten years of VRBO stays. Owner very pleasant and prompt in communicating when booking, checking in, and during stay. Clear guidance/notes re: use of well-stocked kitchen etc. Plenty of room for the two of us - 2 king bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living room all well-furnished and spacious for cottage. And well-maintained outdoor patio areas. Definitely hope to return here.

A magical week in Carmel

We are two senior couples who were long overdue for a reunion and Carmel called out to us. Hilltop House was a perfect fit. It is very well appointed and was a comfortable spot to return to after a day of exploring the local sights. We had some meals out but also made use of the well equipped kitchen at times. The coastal walks in the neighborhood are breathtakingly beautiful and both Carmel beach and River State beach are a short walk from the house. The garden is a little Eden and the back deck a wonderful place to sit out on a sunny day. As we went our separate ways today, we all agreed we’d like to reunite here again sometime in the future. We can’t think of a better place to get together with dear friends. Thanks JD & Diane for hosting us at your lovely home.

Quaint Carmel Cottage

The property was a delight, well equipped and well maintained. It was also in a quiet neighborhood on the south side of Carmel, about three blocks from the beach. The only downside to the location was that it was about a mile from the main Carmel business area which has most of the shops and restaurants but very limited parking after about 9 am in the morning. The other difficulty was getting the check-in information in timely fashion and trying to communicate with the property manager directly. Perhaps I was doing something wrong, but every time I tried to send a message to the property manager through the Vrbo website a page came up requiring me to sign up for other services that I didn't want or need. This was very annoying.

Bright and charming

This is a gorgeous, bright, and lovely property in a beautiful part of Carmel, away from the crowds on Ocean Avenue. There are numerous skylights throughout the 2 bedroom/2 bath house that brighten up the house beautifully, important when Carmel is overcast or foggy. The kitchen is smaller but better equipped than any house my wife and I have ever rented in the area. You will want for nothing. There is even a wonderful barbecue hooked up to a gas line for grilling. Regarding the check in; apparently the property manager, who was a very nice woman, was unaware we were coming. So we were not able to check in until almost 4:00. But we were able to contact the owner, also very nice and helpful, and he straightened the snafu out. I’m sure that was just a one time mistake not something that occurs with any regularity. You will be overwhelmingly delighted with this rental. It’s a wonderful home and you will love your stay.

Hilltop House is perfect

Charming and comfortable. Lovely inside and out. Very walkable to Carmel's stunning beaches. Appreciated the original artwork throughout the house. King beds and pillows couldn't have been more comfortable and having two full baths made it easy for two couples to share the space. We felt very much at home at Hilltop House.

Perfect location two and a half blocks from beach. Morning walks along the PREMIER part of Carmel headlands. This is the finest location for strolls in all of Carmel, between the river and the beach, with views of Pebble Beach golf course at the far end of the beach. You can walk to Pebble Beach golf course if you like.
