We are sorry to hear that you felt our home was not as clean as you expected, which we find disappointing since we are diligently following all of the CDC-recommended protocols. We also work very hard to keep our swimming areas and beaches as weed-free as possible using at least twice-weekly manual removal in conjunction twice-annual herbicide application. Lee Township has been undergoing some revitalization within the last 5 years, especially as we have continued to develop our local vacation rental properties. There are a few older, tired homes on 53rd street that could definitely use some love and attention, but the neighborhood is quite safe and normally very quiet. We often find that our guests are the only folks actually using the lake! Meth Watch is an international program, and the signs indicate that local businesses have committed to watch for and report on folks who may buy (or even steal) products like pseudoephedrine, which may ultimately be used to manufacture methamphetamine. Many US retailers participate in this program, but retailers in small rural communities like ours tend to lack elaborate security systems and/or adequate staffing to effectively monitor patrons. We are pleased to hear that we were able to be responsive to your needs, both before and during your stay. Jill is always prepared to don all of the appropriate PPE when entering our homes, including a face mask. Strangely enough, other guests have seemed surprised or put off by her use of face masks, which has obviously been confusing for us.
