Newly remodeled Parakeet cottage! Walking distance to beach, restaurants, shops!

The Parrot Nest is one of the Old-Sanibel cottages located on the quiet East End of the island. Since 1955, our charming cottages have been welcoming visitors and until the early 1960's they were brought to our shores from the mainland by ferryboat.
Our cottages are newly renovated in a coastal decor offering you epic comfort, relaxation in a beautiful room. We are within walking distance to the historic Sanibel Lighthouse and fishing pier, beautiful shelling beaches, shopping and restaurants.
If you like, use our complimentary bikes and explore miles of paths covering the island and leading to wildlife refuges, kayaking spots, secluded beaches, and meandering past more eateries, shops, and galleries. The Parakeet cottage is a charming one room with a queen and features a private patio with an outdoor dining table, chairs and umbrella.

1st time in Sanibel it was perfect

Beautiful sunset, beautiful weather Will go back again and Parrots Nest was the perfect place to stay. Within walking distance to so much and renting a Moke to cruise around in was icing on the cake

Sanibel Dreams come True

This little cottage was very quaint, perfect for a quick girl's getaway. Situated in close walking distance to Lighthouse Beach, small shops and places to eat. I much rather prefer little places like this, that have all the basics of a low key but enjoyable area. It was just what we needed to enjoy all Sanibel has to offer.

Excellent location to beach, tiny, clean and cozy, great for 2 people, the free bike and beach accessories are a plus. Would stay again.Side note: if small critters freak you out, may give a second thought. Lots of lizards, frogs, and even iguanas. I thought they were cool but just FYI Only draw back is the kitchen is beyond bare minimum.

Great Communication

Sweet liitle efficiency cottage. Excellent air conditioning. I was really impressed with how responsive they are when asking questions about visitor parking and such. Bikes were awesome and location was great. If we come back to Sanibel we will stay at Parrot nest again.

Great little spot

We loved the east end of Sanibel and this place was just right. Great communication and cute little place in a great spot. We loved Wikies and all shops just a three minute walk away, as well as how quiet the area was. Lighthouse beach was easy, especially with the bikes. Buy/bring bug spray for calm wind days but overall it was wonderful.

Great Get Away

This little cottage had everything we needed for our stay. It is in the perfect location on Sanibel Island as well. We used the complimentary bikes to ride around, got to know the island and visit the beaches. I highly recommend this little gem. The restaurants and stores nearby also do not disappoint. I highly recommend and will stay here again!

Clean and great location.

This was a great location, 15 minute walk to the Lighthouse beach. Near coffee/ice cream and our favorite restaurant Grandma Dot’s. The bed was comfortable. It was also very clean. Our only complaints were the laundry wasn’t working and the kitchen supplies could have been better. We would stay here again for sure.

We chose Sanibel for our 40th Anniversary trip and we were so happy to find your little cottage. It was perfect for the two of us. Thank you for all the shells that we found on your beautiful beaches! The people on the island were friendly and the restaurants were delicious!

What fun it's been to visit here, and what wonderful accommodations! So peaceful and quiet, and an easy drive to anywhere on the island. Had a great time hiking, kayaking, and visiting art galleries. A friend told me to visit the Sanibel Library, and I'm glad I did. Lots of interesting art on the walls, plus plenty of seashell collections. It is the coolest library I've ever seen! I enjoyed many restaurants here, and these were my favorites: Over Easy Cafe, Mudbugs, Gramma Dots and Blue Rendezvous. If you enjoy wildlife, check out the "Ding" Darling Wildlife Refuge which is a National Park. Seniors age 62 can buy the Lifetime Senior Pass for 80 which works for ALL National Parks in the United States! My accommodations were spotless, very clean and organized. All communications were thorough. The best compliment of all: I'd stay here again! Check out the tallest tree near the cottages and notice the osprey nest at the very top. Saw him several times come home!

Parrots nest

The place was great. Only negatives were an uncomfortable mattress,it wanted to curl up on the edges as we moved around, and you had to stand strategically in the shower to keep water off the floor from the gap in the door.

Tiny Cottage

The cottage is cute and clean. Bed was very comfortable! We enjoyed the general area and ease of getting to areas of interest. Nice restaurants and shops nearby, but not close enough (for us) to walk. The beach is a 2 min drive away, so convenient. We will be back!

Perfect Cottage

This was just a quick weekend with some friends but I am already planning my next trip. The location is perfect. The Bikes, Chairs and other beach amenities were great to have and in amazing condition. The property management company is easy to work with and very responsive to questions. This is a great little cottage getaway.
