Villa Lomaniños is a unique beachfront villa located directly on the breathtaking Playa Las Ballenas, the most beautiful beach of Las Terrenas. The entrance is to a private parking accessible from the dead end road along the beach

Optional daily cook service, up to 3 meals per day.

Offering AirCo in all 7 bedrooms with king size bed, 7 bathrooms en suite, one TV/bedroom with two twin beds using one of the adjacent bathrooms, 1 half-bathroom, Billiard, WiFi, Large pool with baby pool, outdoor kitchen, dining- and living area around the pool. Satellite TV. Large private tropical garden. 24/7 security. Optional daily cook service.

The villa is situated on walking distance (1,5 km) from the Fishermen's village (Pueblo de Pescadores) of Las Terrenas, a village with many foreign residents. Las Terrenas is known for its lush, green flora and fauna, its beautiful abandoned beaches, waterfalls and adorable people. But also for its outstanding, international level of bars, restaurants and nightlife. From January till April is the whale watching season.

The closest airport to Las Terrenas is El Catey (AZS) 25 mins by car. Direct flights from Montreal, Toronto.

Own water supply.

Daily housekeeping, pool cleaning and gardening. Optional Cook service. They can prepare breakfast, lunch and/or dinner and do your shopping.

Electricity is included, but cost of using the air conditioning will be charged separately.
The Villa has an electricity fall back system (batteries and solar panels) to guarantee supply of electricty during powercuts of the local electricity company. In such situations however some equipment is not operational (AC, Micro wave f.e). For long outages there is a generator.

The host was very attentive we had great communication. The villa was above our expectations. Clean, spacious and the Chef Xiomara and Maritza are excellent every meal was delicious,tasty and fresh every day. they both did everything as we requested and beyond. Wonderful vacation

Can’t wait to go back to Villa Losmaninos. Great location, beautiful property and great host. The check in process was a breeze. Blanca and Giselle, the staff, are amazing. Blanca cooks delicious meals and the attention to details was spectacular. We’ll definitely go back!

Excellent Get Away!!!

Our group have an excellent weekend in this lovely place, great view and excellent condition of the property, so nice weather we didn't need the A/C and the staff is very friendly and responsible, the beach accessible and awesome, Las Ballenas is one of the most beautiful beach in the area.

We just came back. The place even better in person than in pictures. The beach was beautiful. The owner/manager was very professional and detail oriented. Blanca and Gisell(staff) were the best. They cooked for us and the food was delicious. Also the service was beyond great..they waited on us hand and feet..A+.

Great Group Vacation!

We visited Las Terrenes with a group of 12 friends. The property and beach were clean an ideal for groups. On the beach you can snorkel and even spear fish were we caught Octopus for dinner. The staff was excellent and always there for anything including making guacamole for an afternoon snack to picking up charcoal for an evening BBQ. We also highly recommend renting ATV's to explore the town and area beaches. We look forward to a return trip!

Beautiful Spot

This is a great house for a big group! We were here with 14 family members ages 16-90. The space was large enough to give everyone their own space if they wanted it, but could accommodate everyone at the dinner table or in the living room. The best part of the house was the amazing staff. Blanca, who was the house manager and cook, was both a talented chef and a joy to be around. The rest of the staff was also both friendly and efficient. The location was great with the beach right across the road. All in all a very pleasant stay and highly recommended for a large group.

Great cook, location and staff!!

Overall the property is an open air property! Right across the street from the beach, with a huge lawn and plenty of space for everybody.Our cook Blanca and her staff… was nothing short of absolutely wonderful! The kitchen in which she cooks is visible to all, and definitely needs an update. Blanca does an amazing job with what she has to work with.. The pool was not clean as upon arrival, and we were never advised of the construction next-door before arrival. The maximum amount of people that can sit comfortably at the dining table is 12 to14 people only, the balance of the group had to sit at the high chairs at the bar overlooking the kitchen. The owner was quick to respond to our many issues. Overall, a great stay!

Thank you for your kind words about Blanca. Your remark about the kitchen is a bit puzzling because all tools and equipment you may possibly need are there. The construction nearby should have been finished by the end of December 2024 but was delayed due to heavy rain from November to January.

An absolute gem!

We came here with family for vacation and had an absolutely incredible time. The property is stunning and has such unique architecture. Most of the living area is open air and has gorgeous views of the beach that is right across the house. All the rooms are spacious. The support staff (led by Blanca) were very lovely and helped us with anything we needed. We had them cook meals for us for some of our stay and every meal was delicious and fresh. The location of the house is great. Many beach restaurants/bars within walking distance. Beach that is across from the house is calm with clear water and great snorkeling. We were sad to leave and would love to come here again sometime. We will treasure our memories from here forever and highly recommend this beautiful spot.

Perfect Family Getaway

We stayed for a week to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. We had 5 adults, 2 seniors, 2 teens and 2 under ten. It was perfect. House was gorgeous. The outdoor living area and kitchen were spectacular and the bedrooms were perfect. Pool was cleaned every day and beach is right in front of the house. Great snorkeling, swimming and kayaking. Excellent restaurants in town are a short walk or drive away. We cannot say enough about this house or the Las Terrenas area. It is beautiful and the people are so kind and welcoming. The staff at the home cooked immaculate meals and kept the home clean and in order. So much to do in the area! I would return and stay here in a heartbeat!

Spectacular

Our family has rented large villas for decades at Christmas in the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii. This visit was an all time favorite. The villa self is spectacular with large bedrooms, many separate living areas and open architecture. The pool is large and well maintained. The beach just across the road extends with white sand and gentle surf for over a mile with numerous bars, restaurants and beach clubs. We opted to have Blanca prepare breakfast and dinner each night. The food was delicious and she was very responsive to our interests. While the owner was in Europe he was available by phone for advice. Other members of the extensive staff were most responsive.

Perfect Family Vacation!

Our first time to Las Terrenas, Erik and Fieke's home was the perfect spot for our family spring break with the two other families that joined us. We had 6 adults/5 children and the accommodations were perfect. The open-air living room and dining room with a view of the ocean through the palm trees was a favorite spot for dinner, evening appetizers/cocktails and relaxing. We found the staff, to include Bea (the property manager), Blanca & Margarita (house staff who cooked and tidied the house), to be be extremely helpful and responsive. Blanca and Margarita cooked wonderful dinners of the local cuisine. We had planned to go out a few nights for dinner, but decided to stay in because their cooking was so good. For travelers who like to immerse themselves in local culture, Las Terrenas is the perfect spot - the locals are very welcoming and enjoy conversing. The primary languages are Spanish, French and Italian. There are many great beach bars to enjoy the vistas and a cold Presidente. We felt very safe venturing into town for groceries, ATM, etc. - that said, Blanca and Margarita will go for you to get groceries. If visiting for the first time, a trip to El Limon Falls is a must. Bea can help to arrange trips. We loved this trip and are sure to be back! Thank you Erik, Fieke, Bea, Margarita and Blanca!!

Paradise for a week!

We were looking for a getaway for lots of family (12 adults and 4 children, including a toddler), considering lots of spots in the Caribbean. I’m so glad we settled on Las Terrenas and Erik’s beautiful house! Everything was as presented on the site (and better), and Erik is amazingly helpful, putting us in touch with Frank Bat and Optima tours for transfers and excursions (excellent), making sure we had cooks for the week and that they were aware of one member of the party with Celiac (fantastic), and checking in with us from time to time. Four other staff members kept up the grounds, kept an eye on things at night, and cleaned. Erik answered many questions along the way and was always very responsive. Las Terrenas itself is beautiful, with plenty to do right around the property (pool, beach, snorkel, shop, bars/restaurants). The only caution I’d offer is that Las Terrenas is a popular spot, and the area around the property is very active. Even though it was technically low season during our stay, Friday/Saturday saw more folks on the beach and late night revelers (until 2-3am). Still, far calmer, less crowded, and a much friendlier environment than our experiences in Punta Cana and La Romana. Highly recommend Las Terrenas if you’re coming to the Dominican Republic! Wonderful stay in paradise!

My family and I rented this home for a week to get away from the MN winters and enjoy some sunshine! The house did not disappoint. It was very unique and clean. We loved the open concept of the house. The outdoor seating and pool/pool area made the house even better. It was a great place to relax and read a book or dive in the pool with a drink and float the day away. The beach was beautiful and the chairs the staff provided was an added bonus. We loved how empty the beach was and how close it was to the front of the property. All the members of the staff were so friendly and happy. I will definitely brush up on my Spanish speaking ability before heading back so I can communicate with the locals/staff more. Everyone was very friendly along the beach and any restaurant/bar we went to as well. The meal Blanca made for us was amazing! Even though we didn’t need much help/service from the staff throughout the week, they were all still very attentive and checked in on us, which made us feel welcomed and safe. We hope to be back in the future. Las Terrenas is a beautiful area and we are glad we went there and rented this house. Erik was always more than helpful and is a very nice host! He answered all of our questions and called to check in on the first full day we were there. We all hope to be back some day!

Spring Break 2024

The GREAT: This was an awesome experience. We had 16 in our party of which 8 were teens. The layout of this place was perfect for our needs. The ability to walk to most places we needed to go was perfect though we did rent a golf cart to make grocery shopping easier and to get to surfing at Playa Bonita. Blanca and staff were outstanding and I HIGHLY recommend you have Blanca prepare meals for you. What a spread of food she puts on and there were always leftovers to snack on. The not so Great: And to be fair this has nothing to do with the host, the place or the local staff!! The time of year we chose meant that we were there in the beginning of the rainy season. It rained most days, but two days in particular were extreme to say the least. Locals said they had not seen that much in 50 years. At least 3 of the bedrooms had water coming in from the windows or from under the doors. The swim up kitchen/bar area was completely under water. Other than those two days the rest of the days were just intermittent showers with sunshine and were PERFECT! Go to Las Terrenas and stay here if you have big party. Go before it becomes the next Punta Cana or La Romana and looses it's charm.

dear Gary, Thank you for your very positive review about the house, the staff and Las Terrenas. Just bad luck you were here during those two days of extreme weather and rain (>20cm) that looked more like a hurricane although we have hardly ever hurricanes in Las Terrenas. And in a time of the year that is actually not at all (the beginning of) the rain season which makes it even more extreme. Hope to see you again some day in Las Terrenas, Best regards, Erik and Fieke

The Perfect Paradise!!!!

Well, how do you explain paradise in only 1500 characters? We had 5 couples on this trip, several who were celebrating their 60th Birthday! It started off with Willy picking us up at the airport, he was awesome! Then we arrive at the Beautiful Villa Lomaninos and are greeted with hugs and smiles from the staff! Blanca then took us on a tour of the Villa to make sure everything was in order. The pictures of the Villa on the VRBO site are spot on, just Beautiful! We ran to the beach to put our toes in the sand and watch the amazing sunset! The staff then called us to our first surprise dinner which was flat out amazing! We highly suggest having Blanca and the staff prepare all your meals! The cost for the cook and the meals are extremely reasonable and the food and presentation are amazing! We enjoyed every meal that was prepared for us! Including the fabulous Pina Coladas that we were treated too before every dinner! The Villa and the property are so comfortable and inviting! Everyone had their own private space and bathroom and the common areas had plenty of room for our whole group! The property was cleaned every day by the amazing staff! Blanca and Yajaira helped us to celebrate the birthdays with a cake, music and dancing! Staff was so accommodating with all our requests.The guards, Quenold and Tony were super attentive and always helpful! The communication with Erik the property owner was always so easy, quick and very informative. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Spacious home with beautiful view

Relaxing home but not enough to do in the area. We did rent golf carts and rode around but very congested. Walked to Kiki’s to watch football. Kids took a waterfall hike but it was very difficult. All of us rode an old boat to a deserted island for lunch which was ok but nothing really to do there. We were very disappointed that there was no snorkeling because of a recent storm The house is definitely not handicapped accessible with no handrails nor is it really geared for Americans who like there creature comforts. The lights are dim and dinner was impossible to see. Blanca cooked nice meals but they were often cold and we couldn’t see what we were eating. We had to get our own water out of the kitchen refrigerator to take to our bedroom which C was inconvenient. The A/C needed to be turned off during the day or whenever you weren’t in the room. At night we wanted to play games but there was no game table or enough light. The TV was not in a place easily seen so only my grandson tried watching it. The kids enjoyed playing billiards in the game room and I iced the pool but again it was hard to get in because of no handrails. The beds were low to the ground in some sort of platform and were very hard with only one blanket to share for two people. The owner was very kind to bring me an extra mattress to make my be higher. So all in all it was a nice home but quite a few little things that made it not perfect. If you like getting away to a new culture and experiencing rustic

Dear Penny, We met every day!!! We are surprised that you blame the house, the trip you made to an unspoiled beach, our staff and Las Terrenas for your own personal choices and immobility! I am sorry that Las Terrenas didn’t meet your “creature comfort “needs. We had nearly one year before your stay to discuss our house, even on the phone!, You knew what to expect! We tried to please you every day but this was not very easy, you made an issue out of everything. Arriving half an hour later after dinner was served and agreed is difficult for our cook. 2 televisions in the house. You told us that you have been swimming 3 times per day? In front of the house you can snorkel very well but your family didn’t want to!! Luckily we have many Americans/ other nationalities, who love our house and the beautiful unspoiled life of Las Terrenas with our luxurious house, restaurants, bars and lovely Dominicans. Erik and Fieke P.S. You were free to use the airco all day, even when you are not in the room but you didn’t want to pay for it. For us and most other people a waste! Using water bottles twice is because we care about the environment!

Lovely House , Some comments to improve

Dear Erik, first of all thank you for you flexibility and communication with us. We were happy to stay in the house, the house for us was amazing in terms of spaces, different areas, fresh , rooms. we will like to add some comments to be consider Ammenities: Well equipped but I will add: - New Cooler, (the one there is broken) and cooler with wheels so we can walk in to the beach. - Beach Bucket ice, as you know Ice melt very fast and the bucket ice we had was from metal and didn't have a top to close, there some special options in amazon for beach. - a Nice Cheese table to put some appetitive we were using the one of the kitchen that they use to cut. Staff: Staff people were very kind and smiling always.But we have some comments: - We do not consider Blanca as a CHEF, she is a cooker that help with good taste but for us her and Yajaira were the same role in the kitchen, all the meals we let her do were not proper cook ex: Fish twice over cook Pasta overcook desserts she only knew how to make one version and we couldn't eat it. In the group we got some people that like to cook and for every meal they we were giving directions and cooking with Blancas help, we did not let her do anything else by her own, only local food like: plantain, yuca etc. So my recommendation is not to sell her as a CHEF just as a cooker and also as a housekeeper. - They were not proactive, we need every day in the morning, please put the table , take out table etc they did it but we always have to tell them. - It is important that Blanca communicates better about their meals, resting schedules etc, we needed to guess what was happening because of their faces. Cleaning Staff: they were OK, there was a little bit mess in terms of schedule, Sundays attendance etc blanca solve it a try to cover all as well as yajai. it is important to be clear that they need to cover the house behind. - Both Fridge has a fish smell. (terrible) Beach: It is important to be clear that from Frid-Sun it is a noise street, beach is pack of people and music all day and night. It was not a problem at all but It was surprisingly for us. Chairs were always at the beach but the last 4 days there were there but we need to put them all next to each other since it was a tower of chairs. Pool: was clean but we need to tell every 2 days to blanca to have some one to clean it because got dirty. Hope this will be constructive, anyhow we had a wonderful stayed and fun. Cheers.

Dear Christina, That is correct. Blanca is our housekeeper and excellent COOK, IF SHE CAN DO HER JOB!!! We do not sell her as a chef. You used this word yourself. Being told how to cook ingredients bought by you, no fresh fish, daily, from the market, bad meat etc… This gave the horrible smell in the fridge. Cooks need to get the chance to be creative. It is a pity you didn’t trust her. You are the first person in seven years with this comment and it gave her a bad and insecure feeling. Using our wine cooler for the dining table on the beach is fine but off course the cooler has no lid. The beaches are for everyone. Yes it can be crowded in the holiday weekends. This is Dominican life. We are on one of the most beautiful beaches in Las Terrenas. Our guard Quenold cleans it every day and puts the beach-chairs (12 ) daily for you on the beach. We are sooo disappointed that you had no respect for him and his replacement, the last 4 days. Quenold had to travel to Haiti for the funeral of his father who died suddenly! Therefor the chairs were on the beach but not on the spot you liked. The pool is cleaned 2/3 times per week by our pool service and our guard Quenold cleans it the other days. You were a very difficult group and hard to please . Maybe a hotel the next time? We would not recommend you to other house owners. Best regards, Erik and Fieke

Villa Lomaninos

We had an excellent stay in this villa. We were 4 families and 17 pax and the villa is really wide enough for such a big group. Very nice location with direct access to the beach, a bit aside from the village center so calmer, very helpful and discrete staff with excellent cook !, and very supportive and reactive landlord whom you can easily contact would you need any piece of advice or help to organize your stay.

Un séjour mémorable pour notre CRAZY50!

Notre séjour à la villa Lomaninos s’est déroulé dans des circonstances exceptionnelles et sera mémorable pour plusieurs raisons. La villa est un véritable oasis, un cocon où notre groupe d’amis a eu le bonheur de se retrouver tous ensemble pour fêter un anniversaire bien spécial. Nous n’aurions pu souhaiter mieux que ce petit coin de paradis, irréel tellement il frôle la perfection. Après nos longues marches sur la plage, nous nous pincions chaque fois que nous retrouvions notre villa jaune au toit de chaume de l’autre côté de la route tranquille. La chaleur et la bienveillance du personnel étaient exceptionnelles, tout comme les talents culinaires de Blanca et Nina! Merci pour tout!

Las terrenas

Overall everything was great. Some of the bathrooms drains from the shower would get clogged causing small flood. House is beautiful and the staff was amazing. As for the staff I would say being more alert of what we are running low in terms of juice, water, ice. We all enjoy the house very clean and beautiful. I will recommend it to everyone I know. Thank you for your services and your great communication.

Nous sommes un couple cosmopolite, d'origine hollandais, ayant vécu dans beaucoup des pays différents. Au premier visite à 2003 nous étions toute de suite amoureuses de Las Terrenas.
Nous aimons beaucoup l'environnement authentique, quand-même international, le climat excellent et naturellement la population locale très jolie et accueillante. Aussi nos enfants et leurs enfants aiment beaucoup de visiter Las Terrenas régulièrement. C'est pour ca que nous avons décidé de construir une nouvelle maison, a coté de la maison existante.
Nous sommes bien occupé avec les deux maisons mais nous avons aussi notre société d'importation
