The Space:
The Hibiscus Suite at Sunset Serenade reopened after Irma and Maria renovation in May 2019. It is a spacious apartment suite with a large, air conditioned bedroom complete with a comfortable King size bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living space that includes a comfortable, pull out sofa. The Hibiscus Suite sleeps four comfortably, but the best part is its panoramic views of St. John, St. Thomas, and the surrounding cays. Enjoy your morning coffee outside on the large private deck while watching iguanas lounge in the trees below or simply watch the boats sail by. After enjoying a day at one of St. John’s famed beaches, head back to the Hibiscus Suite and enjoy a cocktail on the large, private deck as the sun dips down into the Caribbean Sea.

When staying with us, you will have everything you need for an unforgettable vacation right at your fingertips. This includes coffee for your mornings, beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler for daytime fun, and comfortable outdoor furniture for you to lounge on while watching the Cruz Bay lights at night.

Sunset Serenade has wifi throughout and a large parking area providing ample off-street parking to all guests. It also features an outdoor grill area that is shared between Sunset Serenade’s guests.

Hibiscus Suite was very comfortable, with a fabulous view of Cruz Bay and the sunsets. Appreciated having all the beach gear available to us.

Beautiful Views

We enjoyed our stay at Hibiscus Suite. The suite was clean, spacious and well-appointed. The front porch was large and comfortable and had beautiful views. We also enjoyed the indoor rain shower. It was nice to have the beach chairs and cooler that were at the property.Communication with the host was very good. The property was very close to town and to the amazing North Shore beaches. The roads up to the property are quite steep and can be slippery in the rain, so make sure you have an AWD vehicle or Jeep if you are renting a car.

Island Time

The house was very clean. I enjoyed relaxing on the porch. The view was great, especially watching the fireworks on Fourth of July. The king bed was comfortable. However, the double sofa bed needs to be replaced, if 2 adults plan to sleep on it. It's obvious that the bathroom was recently renovated with gray and white decor and a rain shower head, which we enjoyed after our hikes and the beaches. I recommend curtains for the living room sliding glass doors, mostly to keep the heat out. We enjoyed our stay.

Great space

The Hibiscus Suite was perfect for our short stay in St John. We appreciated all of the beach items that were made available to us and that the kitchen was already stocked with coffee, a jug of water and a few cold beers. The outdoor space is excellent with great views.

Great outdoor space

We used the outdoor space the whole time. Location was close to things, some noise- but not in the loud downtown area. Sunsets were beautiful. Check in/out was easy. I sent several messages to the property manager asking questions but never heard a response.

Ideal spot

I cannot say enough good things about our stay in the Hibiscus suite. When we were not on the beach, we were on the porch eating breakfast, watching the sunset, or playing a game at night. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The shower felt good at the end of a long day beach hopping. There are different apartments on the property, and each one has its own parking spot and apartment entrance. I would very happily stay in this apartment again.

Perfect Views

House felt very private with amazing views of the bay. Very clean. We didn't spend much time there as we ventured out all day, but the shower and balcony were wonderful at the end of each day.

Beautiful views

Beautiful views of Cruz Bay and the harbor. Great place to watch a sunsets. Great location close to food, shopping and beaches. The water pressure from the shower is really low and shoots all over the place. Which made it a bit challenging cleaning of everything from the beach. If driving rent a jeep it's a steep hill to get here.

Beautiful view

The property had all I needed for my short stay and more. I was super thankful for the big jug of water and the aloe to treat my sunburn ;) Its the little things that made my first trip alone less stressful. The air conditioning worked great, which is always a concern in the heat and the fans located throughout the house and even outside kept the property cool and comfortable. Renting a vehicle is a must! Its literally one road in and out for those concerned about driving. Most of the taxis refused to go up and down the huge hills to the property. And the address listed is not as the locals know it. Mention Serendip Rd and "top of the hill." You can catch a taxi if you walk about 15 min to the nearby resort. Otherwise, private taxis will bring you to the exact location but are more expensive. I appreciated that the market was just a short walk away, however recommend securing a ride back. Walking up those huge hills in the heat with groceries was just not an option for me. The outdoor area was the best part. It was very relaxing, spacious, nicely furnished and the view was simply breathtaking.

It was one of the best view I have ever seen!

It was a great stay and I would go back anytime! Definitely need a car or just take one of the many taxis available to get here, definitely worth for the view! And the apartment is wonderful with an even more wonderful terrace

Loved the view of Cruz Bay and the harbor. The bed is comfortable, there were ample towels for the beach and bath. We enjoyed our coffee on the screened in deck each morning while we searched the trees for Iguanas. Quiet neighborhood and quiet neighbors.

Porch views are stunning!

Beautiful property. I loved the beautiful gardens surrounding the property, so many beautiful tropical plants and flowers! The porch was the best place to be - we loved having our morning coffee (which the host kindly provided and it was really good coffee), and local muffins from the bakery at the market. We enjoyed seeing all the iguanas hanging out in the trees around us (and felt thankful for the screened in porch!). The AC being off during the day was no problem, it does quickly cool the place down and the ceiling fans help move the air. Host left a big jug of water for us which was nice. The bathroom was beautiful and so was the big rain shower. This isn’t a complaint but just a friendly warning, the water pressure from the shower is really low and it made it a bit challenging to get all of that thick reef safe sunblock off at the end of the day. This may be because it’s cistern water and they’re trying to conserve - not a deal breaker but just something to be aware of. Comfy, clean place with a beautiful view and porch, and lush landscaping. I’d recommend!

well maintained, comfortable stay. Everything as listed. Neighbors tree partially blocks what could be an amazing view. Fairly quiet. Recommend supplying at least a gallon of potable water every day.

5+ star stay ⭐

This was the perfect place for us to stay while vacationing on St John. We loved it as our home base as we explored the island each day, it was so comfortable and relaxing. It felt very private too. To our surprise, we ended up making breakfast and dinner there each night, as we wanted to sit on the enclosed patio and just unwind enjoying the spectacular view. The outdoor grill was nice and we appreciated the beach chairs and cooler for our day trips. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend.

Great place to get away

The Hibiscus suite has a great view of Cruz bay. We ate out on the enclosed patio every day and enjoyed the views and weather. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked great. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. We cooked most of the time at the place and went to the grocery store which was very close by. We enjoyed using the beach chairs every day. They were good quality and light. Overall, enjoyed the stay and recommend it to others.

There are lots of nice things to say about this property. Self check-in was a breeze and the instructions were easy to follow. Everything was clean and in order. A lot more spacious than what the pictures reveal. I loved the K cups, the rainfall showerhead, the washer and dryer included in this day, and the beach chairs that you provided for me to take to the beach. They also had plenty of shower gel shampoo and conditioner for us to use in the shower. Beautiful views on a private neighborhood so there is a lot of peace and tranquillity when you get back to your suite. Beautiful balcony with furniture seats and a table for morning breakfast on the balcony. Choose this over a hotel any day.
