I grew up in the hospitality world long before it became an industry. My parents lovingly restored an 1865 brick Victorian Italianate home, and our family of six lived there most of the year. When summer arrived and travelers flocked to Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame and the slow, timeless rhythm of smallâtown life, we tucked ourselves into a few back rooms so guests could enjoy the four grand bedrooms upstairs. Everyone shared a single bathroom with a magnificent old copper tubâa true relic of another era.
Summer meant chores, and mine were the kind that stay with you for life: stripping and making beds with crisp corners, dusting the long twoâstory baluster staircase, and vacuuming the wallâtoâwall carpeting until every path felt fresh again. Those early lessons shaped me. Cleanliness wasnât a taskâit was a welcome. A properly made bed wasnât decorationâit was care.
Iâve now called Jupiter home for more than 30 years. Iâm an author and the creator of Explorers Vacation Club, a collection of three distinctive shortâterm rentals on my propertyâeach one designed to offer guests a taste of Old Florida charm, coastal breezes, and the kind of hospitality that comes from a lifetime of living it.
If your group is larger than the RV can accommodate, youâre welcome to expand your stay with one of our additional, truly oneâofâaâkind spaces:
