Your perfect beach escape awaits at Phoenix I 1066, a charming 1-bedroom, 1-bath Gulf-front condo offering 685 sq. ft. of cozy coastal comfort and sleeping accommodations for up to 6 guests. Located in beautiful Orange Beach, AL, this bright and inviting retreat is ideal for small families or couples looking to unwind by the water.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors fill the living and dining areas with natural light and offer instant, sweeping views of the shimmering Gulf. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for preparing meals when you're not enjoying the many local restaurants just minutes away. The primary bedroom provides direct access to the shared bathroom, which also opens to the hallway for added convenience.

Additional comforts include a sleeper sofa + 2 twin sleeper chairs in the living room, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and an in-unit washer and dryer—making your stay easy and enjoyable from start to finish.

As a guest of Phoenix I, you'll have access to outstanding resort-style amenities, including a beachside outdoor pool, kids' splash pad, fitness center, racquetball court, hot tub, sauna, gazebo, grilling area, and a private boardwalk leading directly to the sugar-white sands. Everything was clean and beautiful. It met our needs beautifully. One problem --the mattress on the bed was slanted toward the floor at the head. The feet were up high and the head down low. It was like sleeping upside down. We used a lot of pillows to try to prop our head up.

Overall this was a very pleasant stay and we would stay here again.Pros:- Great beach view from the balcony. - Easy access to get to the beach. Made it great for back and forth trips. - Access to amenities (indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, fitness centers) in Phoenix I - IV buildings. If one pool was crowded, you could try another.- Kitchen plus grill access outside in the common areas- Washer and dryer in room- Quick access to restaurants and activities (shopping, arcades, mini golf, The Warf, marina, etc). - If you have kids, you can go "crab hunting" at night to see all the little ghost crabs running around. - Plenty of towels in the bathroom.- Website description matched what we got - pictures were accurate and they were upfront with what things they did and didn't provide so we knew what to expect.- They provide shopping carts in the lobby for guests to make it easy to bring groceries up to your room, a nice added touch. - Walls appeared thick as we barely heard our neighbors when inside. Cons:- No beach view from bedroom. Bedroom window opens up to hallway.- A little worn in areas, but overall was clean.- Mattress, while comfortable, sunk in and was very loud when you moved.- Door to washer and dryer room kept getting stuck.- Washer and dryer closest was really dusty and needed a thorough cleaning.- Heated outdoor pool was really cold, didn't feel heated. Some of the hot tubs were a little dirty.- 6 people would be an extremely tight fit.

The unit is adequate and has a lot of positives such as the location on the beach and although its a one bedroom it can realistically fit up to 6 people with the 3 pull out sofas. In our case it was just 2 of us and was disappointed with a few items. Some of the positives were the location right on the beach. The AC worked great and the technology with the TV and wifi were great as well. The negatives... It is extremely dated in several ways. For example the paint. It doesnt appear it has been painted in many years. You can hang new are and pictures but when on walls that havent been touched in a long while its just lacy. You can see paint on the trim, sloppy around the door and other places. The condition of several items like the louvered doors by the washer. They dont open at all. They come off the track easily. We had to fight with them then give up and then it looks trashy. The doors are hollow and dont open and close well as I assume there is some swelling. Its cheap and lazy again. The louvered doors again appeared decades old. You can replace those cheaply and simply literally at the home depot down the street. the kitchen table shows wear as its particle board and over time the surface gets wet so it swells and chips. Lastly and probably my biggest issue was the Bed. Although the mattress was ok and relatively comfortable the box spring was horrible. Everything you moved even slightly it SQUEAKED horribly.

The property was very well maintained. They do have security guards patrolling the property. We were impressed by the weight room, it was a nice set up. We had a great view of the beach.

Great unit, perfect for two of us!

We had a lovely stay. The condo was perfect for the two of us. The condo was clean, plenty of space, looks how pictures and described. Don’t forget your extra paper towels, garbage bags and toilet paper though! My only complaint was the bed was a tad squeaky getting up in the night usually woke the other person up but everything else was great so easily looked past. Thanks for hosting us.

Review

The TV in the bedroom is very disappointing. Did not have Internet access and that is common in most places now. The headboard was not secure to the bed every time you moved in the bed, the headboard banged against the wall.

Unclean

The fold out couches were very nasty . Crumbs of food and hair all in them. The appliances had thick dust. The bathroom ceiling was falling in from the moisture of the bathroom . It was not a pleasant stay and I will not be going back. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
