This chalet stay was perfection. Private, quiet, comfortable and in an outstanding country setting. Everything provided you could need, including a range of breakfast options. The one thing I could ask for is a coffee plunger and real coffee. Being able to bring our dog AND have a fenced paddock for her to run in is fantastic.Thanks so much, we will be back :)

The property was immaculately clean. The view was amazing, everything we could possibly have needed was available, and Sarah was such a gracious host. She provided breakfast options for our stay, as well as route recommendations to Hobbiton the next morning. The theming for a chalet in the Shire was spot on, and we could not have been happier.

This was one of the best experiences we have ever had in a vacation rental. It was our first experience using the VRBO platform and everything went smoothly with payment, communication, site check-in, directions, ease of parking and entry and level of privacy. The site of this location is absolutely magical! We enjoyed the rural aesthetic and especially loved the private outdoor spaces. The bed and linens were comfortable too. Thank you to our hosts for sharing their bit of paradise.

My husband and I stayed here for the first half of our honeymoon and we were so sad to leave. It was such a lovely accommodation with the LOTR decorations and the perfect countryside views and sounds of nature out in the yard. We really felt at home here. The breakfast items included were much appreciated and enjoyed as well. If we ever have the opportunity to come back to New Zealand we would absolutely stay here again!

This was the stay of our dreams - we will 1000% try to book again when we’re back in the region. The chalet itself is a wonderful size - extremely cozy with all the amenities you need. Sarah kindly left us breakfast items and my husband and I still talk about that orange marmalade she had…Now to get into the property: it was like a slice of heaven. We sat on the porch sipping coffee the whole morning, just soaking in the rolling hills, sunshine, and gentle noises of the birds and farm animals. Absolutely serene. Accessing the property was incredibly easy and Sarah is a fantastic communicator. It’s close toCambridge so there’s good food options less than 20 minutes away. We didn’t think anything would beat the views after Hobbiton, but this place did!

The chalet was idyllic the setting was so tranquil. It was the perfect getaway to recharge. We traveled with our dog and it was an ideal spot with a lovely paddock for exercise. Sarah was so thoughtful with the breakfast . Will definitely return.

My family moved from Buckinghamshire in the UK to New Zealand in 2011, and since then I have worked full-time as a dental assistant with Te Whatu Ora, caring for school communities across the South Waikato area.
I have been married since 1992, and my two adult children have now left home and are building their own lives. We share our home with Bonnie, our beautiful old German Shepherd who rarely leaves our side. My husband and I are big Lord of the Rings fans and enjoy music, movies, and classic cars all while embracing life in this gorgeous countryside.

A peaceful retreat, centrally located for exploring the many attractions of the Waikato, with easy access to State Highway 1. Nearby highlights include the Avantidrome velodrome, Cambridge Raceway (Harness Racing), Lake Karapiro Domain: rowing, dragon boat racing, classic car shows, the Cambridge Saturday Farmers’ Market, and the popular monthly Trash & Treasure market. Movie Set is 20 mins away and Mystery Creek Event Centre (Fieldays) is 25 mins away.
Just a scenic 10-minute drive takes you into Cambridge, where you can enjoy excellent cafés with great coffee, beautiful river walks and hill walks, cycle trails, restaurants, a luxury cinema, swimming pool, and a range of boutique shops.
The chalet is ideal for couples, business travellers, and guests wishing to bring their pets. Please note that your own transport is essential.

A rural, self-contained “home away from home,” this fully equipped space features a large, private, north-facing deck furnished for your comfort, overlooking scenic fields and striking rock formations. It’s the perfect spot for stargazing, relaxing, and unwinding in peaceful surroundings.
Basic breakfast items are provided, along with blankets, beach towels, and a BBQ for your use. The accommodation is dog-friendly, with access to a large adjoining paddock for your pets to enjoy.
Convenient self check-in and check-out is available via a lockbox. Sleeping arrangements include one comfortable king-size bed.
