Our family had a wonderful week together in Wellfleet. Your home was perfect for our family. It was the best house we have rented in Wellfleet. The only problem we had was with the pool. We were loving our time around the pool each until Wednesday afternoon when the water started turning a dark green. The pool maintenance people came, as scheduled, on Thursday. They treated the pool to clear up the green water, but somehow drained the pool to the point that we were unable to get back into the pool Thursday or Friday. When we left the house on Saturday morning around 9:00am the water had only filled up to the bottom step of the pool. Other than the pool problem, everything was great. We would definitely stay in this home again.

First, the good news: this property has a lot of charm. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware, the seating comfortably accommodated our party of seven, and the house is in a beautiful, quiet wooded setting while still being close to downtown Wellfleet and local attractions.Unfortunately, our experience with the management company was disappointing. In addition to the VRBO service fee, there is a substantial management fee, so we expected the property to be well prepared upon arrival.Instead, there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms, the soap was heavily diluted, and linens and towels were available only for an additional fee.Most frustrating was the pool, which was green when we arrived on Friday. We were told the pool company serviced it on Saturdays, so we had to wait 24 hours. When they arrived, they found that the chlorine was too low and the filter was underperforming. Since our stay was only three days, losing a full day of pool access was significant.What was most disappointing was the response from the management company. Rather than focusing on resolving the issue or making the situation right, the communication seemed largely focused on explaining why they were not responsible.The house itself is charming and well located, but given the fees and the short length of our stay, we expected a much higher level of preparation, maintenance, and customer service.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the home, its setting, and the amenities it offers. We do want to clarify a few points for future guests. All rental fees, as well as the requirement for guests to provide or rent linens and towels, were disclosed prior to arrival and included in the rental information and lease agreement, which was provided for review before being signed. We also addressed questions regarding these charges prior to the stay. Regarding the pool, our pool technician was scheduled for the property’s regular Saturday service and attended that afternoon. The pool remained open and usable, and the technician confirmed that guests were swimming when he arrived. He brushed the pool, adjusted the chemicals and heater, and reported that the water improved quickly during the visit. We’re sorry that the overall experience did not meet this guest’s expectations. We work hard to be transparent about each privately owned home and its policies before arrival, while also responding promptly when something at a property needs attention.
