Check in was seamless, parking was very easy with lots of spaces to pull into right out front. The house itself was spotlessly clean and spacious with lots of spaces for us to gather. The yard was totally private and if it hadn't been raining while we were there, we would have taken advantage of the circles of chairs in the yard and on the porches. The host was gracious and responded very quickly when I needed to reach out for early check in. Then, soon after we left, she reached back out to me with photos of a few things left behind and is now mailing me my winter coat.

The listing is not accurate. From the photos the house appears away from the road since it’s a beautiful setting. But it’s right on the road. The beautiful property is behind the house. We walked in and were immediately hit with the strong smell of chemical cleaners. Then we found all of the bedroom windows were TAPED SHUT. Two of five of us got migraines from the chemical smell almost immediately. You CANNOT OPEN THE WINDOWS! We rented a house in the country to have fresh air. But the sealed windows made that impossible unless we were outside the house. VRBO and Evolve helped us cancel the booking. Then we had to find a hotel on short notice. We do not recommend this property.

From the owner: “We would like to clarify that the property is accurately represented in the listing, as previous guests’ reviews have stated. The road, property, and window A/C units are visible in the photos. The home is actually set back 55 feet from the road behind a lawn and a 6-car driveway. Bedroom windows are secured around A/C units with tape to prevent small insects from entering. Windows in other rooms can be opened, and the bedroom’s A/C and fans provide air circulation as needed. After the concern, the home was inspected, and no unusual or persistent chemical smell was found. We understand that the house may not have fit the guests’ preferences, but we stand behind the accuracy of our listing and pride ourselves on the level of cleanliness we provide, as also mentioned in previous guests’ reviews.”

Amazing Stay!!

We had such a great time at Deer View Manor! This vacation rental was an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beautiful natural setting. The spaciousness of the property, both inside and out, was a real treat.The large deck was where we spent most of our time – perfect for morning coffee with breathtaking views and evening cocktails and a BBQ as the sun set. The open space around the property provided a wonderful sense of freedom and tranquility, ideal for just unwinding and soaking in the peace.Evenings were made magical by the fire pit. It was the perfect spot to gather, share stories, and enjoy the starry sky. We made some wonderful memories there.Beyond the stunning surroundings, the rental itself was impeccably clean and thoughtfully appointed. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, contributing to a truly relaxing and comfortable stay. The interior was also surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room for everyone to spread out without feeling cramped. The hosts Graeme and China made everything easy!If you're looking for a place to escape, reconnect with nature, and enjoy top-notch amenities, look no further. This rental exceeded all our expectations, and we are already planning our return trip. Highly, highly recommend!

Property was as advertised. Host was responsive. Quiet location, only minutes from the freeway. Deer and turkey were frequent visitors. Only negatives are only one shower for five beds. Also, no TV in the main living area. Two TVs were in bedrooms, but it’s not conducive to adults hanging out if the weather is poor. No washer and dryer. That’s on me for not noticing. Five guys brought clothing with the idea of doing a midweek wash. So that was a bummer. But overall, it was exactly as advertised. Pretty home in open space and quiet location.

We're glad the property lived up to expectations, and it's always fun hearing about the deer and turkey visitors enjoying the quiet, wooded setting along with our guests. We appreciate the feedback on the bathroom and laundry setup, both of which are accurately reflected in the listing, and we understand that a single shower or no in-unit laundry may not suit every group's needs. On the entertainment side, we've since added a TV to the main living room, so future guests will have more options for hanging out together when the weather doesn't cooperate. Thanks again for sharing your experience and for helping us continue improving the home.
