Experience beautiful Kagawong by staying in our historical School House Suite. Built in 1903 as a one room school house, we lovingly restored the beauty in 2016. By day we operate a lunch drive thru that is partitioned off from the suite, and by the time you arrive, peace and tranquility await on our spacious back covered porch. A perfect spot to relax after a busy day of exploring all Kagawong has to offer! Bridal Veil Falls and the trail is a popular destination as well as our gorgeous town beach. Early morning risers means a chance to visit the Falls when it is quiet and serene, and your chance to encounter many of our seasonal bird visitors including the Sandhill Crane who visit the field next to our building. If the love of nature and history are in your heart, we welcome you to come and have a restful stay in our beautiful School House Suite!
Continental breakfast is included! Fresh muffins and fresh fruit with coffee included.
****Please note that we are NOT on a lake. VRBO lists the unit as being on the Lake. We are not..we are located next to fields and an Auto Shop. A short drive or walk to the village of Kagawong will get you to enjoy the town beach or Bridal Veil Falls.
****Please also note that the kitchenette does not have a sink. A full fridge, Keurig coffee maker and microwave are provided. Dirty dishes can be placed in the pull out drawers.
****Restaurants are located in neighboring towns, but if you wish, Italian Pasta dishes ( made in our restaurant) can be ordered for your first night stay to heat up if so desired by emailing Jean at jean-ward@live.com and payment for the meals can be made via e-transfer.

Thank you for hosting us at the schoolhouse suite! Everything was exceptional! The suite is beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished. Our host provided lovely goodies that were delicious and so much appreciated. We are so grateful to have found this hidden gem for our trip to Manitoulin Island. The suite is conveniently located for accessing many of the island’s highlights. We are very happy to have stayed at the charming, cozy, and quiet schoolhouse suite - such a great experience all around!

The property was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Covered balcony was really nice. We visited Bridal Veil Falls. We had a great meal at the Gore Bay Golf Course.

We moved to Kagawong from the GTA in 2011 to raise our son. We first fell in love with Kagawong back in the 1980's when brought here as a child and had a very soft spot in our hearts for it ever since. While living here we pursued a dream of owning a cafe, and opened our Main Street Cafe in 2012, then with COVID we pivoted to a drive thru only and have remained that ever since. We love feeding our community and visitors and thought our beautiful space would be perfect to host visitors to this area so they can also fall in love with the magic of this Island.

Manitoulin Island is a special place. From the West to the East, it has such beautiful scenery all year round. Quiet in the winter with gorgeous peaceful fields and forests, and abundant wildlife and glorious scenery in the spring, summer and fall. Kagawong is the midpoint of the Island, where you can explore Kagawong or use as a base to visit all the little towns all around the Island.
