The property was private and spacious with water access. The cottage was very clean and well stocked with all cooking utensils and the little extras that make it feel like home. A bonus was it’s also a short drive from various bays with beaches, boardwalks and restaurants.

The Vista on Lake Kagawong was something quite special. The lakefront was easily accessible with new staircase and large dock; the 3 km hiking trail was really well groomed and was an excellent and relaxing addition to the overall experience; rooms were large and comfortable; fire pit was great, with a large supply of split/dry/aromatic cedar; and hosts were flexible, supportive, and very communicative.

We had four nights at The Vista. We found the cottage to be well equipped for sports and cooking. The property was stunningly beautiful, peaceful, and private.

We had a great time during our stay. The property is wonderful - our kids enjoyed playing badminton outside, kayaking and fishing on the lake, and fires at night! Would love to come back!!

Perfect Location

The cottage is in great shape very clean. Everything as advertised. Feels remote and is very private but close to a grocery and things to do. But could easily just laze around the beautiful property and swimming off the dock. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful week on Manitoulin

The property was exactly as described and the host was very responsive to any questions we had. The property’s central location suited our plans to explore the island and enjoy the hiking trails, restaurants and art galleries. This would be an ideal property for families with lots of room for outdoor games although the water access is best suited for older children and teens.

A Wonderful Return to the Island

This is our fifth trip to the Island in the last 20 years and we love to come here every few years in the fall months to see the vibrant colours and enjoy the peacefulness of the Island. This is the first time at The Vista and loved the location right on the lake and the setup of the cottage suited our lifestyle perfectly, and the cleanliness was first class. Look forward to coming back again in the near future. Thanks Lise for sharing your cottage with us.

Lovely spot for couples or family

The cottage was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked-lots of dishes and cooking supplies. Having 2 fridges was very handy. It was nice to find a place easily shared by 3 couples (3 queen bedrooms and 2 full baths). The deck on the house is very big with lots of comfy deck chairs and a water view but the steps down to the water are a walk across the lawn and then many steps down. But we enjoyed the spacious dock and the gorgeous views. The lake was very quiet when we were there, very relaxing. The cottage has lots of activities available including kayaks, canoe, horseshoes and a net for sports. They have a backroom full of equipment to use and lots of wood for campfires. It was easy to find, a bit of a drive into a town but lots of beautiful scenery on the way and nice little shops. We would have liked another couch in the livingroom so we could all sit together but this place does work for couples or 1 or 2 families. People with small children would appreciate the large lawn safely far away from the water for kids to play. The only water access though is off the dock. Lise was very quick to respond when we had a question and we had a great time.

Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who would enjoy a great cottage in a great location who loves the outdoors. We had the best time relaxing and exploring manitoulin island and creating new memories with our family.The cottage and grounds were clean and well maintained. It was thoughtfully equipped with essentials that made it feel like a home away from home. Beds were very comfortable and I haven’t slept that well in a long time!The cottage was at a great location, close to providence bay for likely one of the best sand beaches in Ontario and gore bay for groceries and essentials. Lots of nearby attractions to explore and only about an hour to the ferry.We loved the outdoor space where we could stretch out and we loved swimming from the dock. The water was beautiful, clean and clear and we loved seeing the fish swimming by, and catching them right off the dock! The shallow entry was a huge bonus for our dogs who loved a quick dip and launching kayaks was a breeze. We took the kayaks a few times and paddling was amazing! The lake was flat, almost glass like and was easy paddling.We took advantage of the well maintained hiking trail adjacent to the property and loved the variety and biodiversity of the forest.Evenings were spent outside playing yard games together and swimming. We really enjoyed the abundance of wildlife and everyday we saw something really exciting! Bald eagles, deer with her fawns, mantises even a beaver swimming past at sunset!

Very quiet location, away from neighbours. We found it to be central to the interesting sights on the Island. Although we didn't utilize all the amenities of the property, for us Saskatchewan city folks, it was a great place to come for a quiet few days. Lise was a wonderful host with clearly laid out instructions via messages and postings in the home. Check-in was a simple. If you are looking for a pet-friendly getaway this is the property for you.

The cottage is surrounded by level grassy area - a badminton net, horseshoe pit and fire pit is perfect for family fun. The back of the cottage is surrounded by trees, and enjoyed by deer, foxes and many birds.
