- THE JETTY & LAKE -
A bush-lined path leads down to the jetty, shared with the neighbouring property. Swim off the end, fish for trout, or leave the boat tied up and use it as your base for the week. Lake Tarawera is one of the clearest lakes in the region, and Hot Water Beach is a 15-minute boat trip across the water - dig your own natural thermal spa in the sand.

Downstairs laundry with washer and dryer.
- PARKING -
Off-street parking on site, plus trailer parking on the roadside grass area next to the garage. The Boat Shed Bay boat ramp is 100 m up the road if you are launching your own boat.
Guest Access:
Guests have exclusive use of the full property - both levels of the home, the deck, the spa pool, the BBQ, the bush path and the shared private jetty. The garage is reserved for the owner's belongings and is not accessible during your stay. Self check-in is via key safe, and full access details are sent before you arrive. Make yourself at home. 🏡
The Neighborhood:
Lake Tarawera sits 20 minutes southeast of Rotorua and runs at a different pace entirely. The lake community is small and unhurried - boats left at jetties, glassy water in the morning, quiet evenings. The Boat Shed Bay boat ramp is 100 m from the door, and Hot Water Beach is a 15-minute boat trip across the lake, where you dig your own thermal spa in the sand. The Buried Village of Te Wairoa, preserved from the 1886 eruption of Mount Tarawera, is only 5 minutes up the road and worth an hour of anyone's time. Back towards town you have the Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest for mountain biking and walking, Te Puia's geysers, the Polynesian Spa and Waiariki Spa on the Rotorua lakefront, and the geothermal parks of Wai-O-Tapu and Waimangu. Rotorua has the cafés, restaurants and supermarkets for stocking up before you head back to the lake.
Getting Around:
A car is essential at Boat Shed Bay. The Buried Village is 5 minutes away, central Rotorua about 20 minutes, Rotorua Airport around 25, the Redwoods and Te Puia roughly 20, and the gondola, luge, Canopy Tours and Zorb about 30. There is off-street parking on site and roadside trailer parking beside the garage. Once you are settled at the lake, the best of the local activity is on the water - bring a kayak, hire one locally, or launch at the ramp 100 m up the road. There is no dairy or petrol station at the lake, so stock up in Rotorua before you arrive.
Other Things to Note:
OUR JETTY: Each jetty on the bay is privately owned and generally shared by two properties. To find ours, head down the bush path and turn right when you reach the lake. Ours is the third jetty, with the small ramp and long white bumpers on the side. If you are tying your boat up, please use the south side of the jetty (the side furthest from the house).
WIFI: Starlink, 275 Mbps.
SUPPLIES: There are no shops at the lake - the nearest are in Rotorua, about 20 minutes away.
