We send automated updates to ensure our guests have all the technical info they need—like AC and trash instructions—to avoid any issues during their stay, but I realize that for some, this can feel intrusive rather than helpful. I sincerely apologize if our attempt to be proactive ended up disrupting your peace and quiet. I was surprised they don’t have street lights. The local restaurants are not what we expected. The food most often subpar & we aren’t picky. The condo was very clean. The microwave did have a strong smell of maple syrup. The patio chairs had giant tags that should have been removed. There was some tile outside the patio door and a miter board left on the porch. You cannot attempt to use the keypad until precisely 4:00. We tried at 3:58 & we thought we had the wrong code. That information should come with your guide. They have a regular coffee maker which should have been listed, so we didn’t have to make a trip to the store. We had a rental & always included beach chairs.

We take pride in our properties, and I will have our team address the microwave, remove the tags from the patio furniture, and ensure any leftover materials from recent maintenance are cleared immediately. Regarding the keypad, our system is automated for a 4:00 PM check-in to ensure the cleaning teams have full access until that time, but I will make sure our guest guide more clearly emphasizes the precise timing to avoid future confusion. I also appreciate the note about the coffee maker; we will update our listing to specify the type so guests can plan their groceries accordingly. Captiva's "dark sky" approach means we lack street lights to protect our local wildlife and maintain the island's natural charm, though we understand it can be a surprise for first-time visitors. We also take your dining feedback seriously and will share it with our local partners. We hope you enjoyed the beaches and would love the chance to provide a more seamless experience in the future.
