The property is in a one-year-old subdivision where some landscaping is still being completed. While some areas may not yet have grass, describing the neighborhood as “muddy streets everywhere” is simply inaccurate. This is a city-approved legal basement apt with its own independent heating and cooling system. The heat was off intentionally because, with outdoor temperatures above 30°C, lower-level units naturally remain cooler. Guests who feel cold can easily turn the heat on using the provided remote. You also arrived approximately two hours before the agreed check-in time. Instead of asking you and your friend to wait in your car in 30°C weather, we rushed the cleaning and preparation and made the apartment ready so you could enter early. It is therefore unfair to suggest that we knowingly provided an unprepared apartment. During your stay, you sent several messages asking how to turn on the heat, plug in the fridge, operate the TV, etc. Although some questions were quite basic, we responded promptly and calmly every time. Your 10:30 p.m. TV message was particularly late, and our request to avoid non-urgent messages at that hour was reasonable. We also heard loud laughing, yelling and television after 10 p.m., despite the clearly stated quiet hours. Asking guests to respect quiet hours and turn off heating/AC when leaving is simply a matter of consideration and energy conservation.We welcome fair feedback, but based on this experience, we would unfortunately not host again

Regarding the bed linens, you were informed both before and upon arrival that additional sheets, pillow covers, blankets, and other linens were available in the closet inside your room. Since individual preferences vary, some guests prefer a single sheet while others prefer multiple layers, so we provide a variety of clean linens for guests to use as they wish. For this reason, your concern about the availability of sheets was somewhat surprising. To conserve energy and promote sustainability, some appliances, including the refrigerator, may be unplugged when not in use. Guests are welcome to plug in and use any appliance during their stay, and we have not received complaints regarding this practice from other guests. We were therefore surprised that food was placed in the refrigerator without first checking that it had been turned on. Regarding the shower drain, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Since your stay, several guests have used the property and no similar concerns have been reported, but we will continue to monitor and address any maintenance issues promptly. While we are sorry that your experience fell just short of a five-star rating, we appreciate your kind words about the cleanliness.

We are disappointed by this review, especially since the guest requested a full refund before even arriving, citing the fees, free street parking, the bed, and other concerns. We offered her a full refund without hesitation, but she ultimately changed her mind and chose to proceed with the stay. We also accommodated her requested date change without charging anything extra. During the stay, several very minor concerns were raised, including a small amount of dirt underneath the bed and a complaint about a refrigerator that was only about six months old. We did our best to accommodate her concerns throughout the stay. Our property is only about a year old, very well maintained, and offered at one of the most competitive prices in the neighbourhood. All applicable fees and the free street-parking arrangement are disclosed in the listing. We welcome genuine feedback, but it is disappointing when guests choose a highly affordable property while expecting the level of service and amenities of a much more expensive hotel. Future guests are welcome to judge the property based on the listing, the facts above, and our many positive reviews. We value respectful guests and constructive feedback, but unfair or excessively critical reviews based on expectations beyond what was advertised are not the type of guest experience we wish to repeat.
